there's a few guys in my complex that seem to be into at least their cars. idk if it'd be silly to ask because they have tricked out bmws and i think an audi. i have a 6th gen civic, i love it, but idk any honda-heads. im going to be working on its suspension. wish i had a buddy or group to hang and tinker with 🥲

I ended up making "car friends" by joining group drives. Out of that I ended up getting a smaller group of friends that just enjoyed driving. Typically during the summer we reserve 1 day a weekend and anywhere between 2-6 of us will get up early and bomb the mountain and go get breakfast before getting on with our regular scheduled programming.
I'm 38 and this group is people my age or slightly older.
I also made some friends by having a niche car "Honda Del sol" and joining the local Del Sol group. But truthfully my driving buddies are closer than the del sol buddies for the most part.

Honda guys are retarded unless they’re track retards. I’d say try auto crossing if you can find an event and then nerd out with some cars you find interesting. You just need to strike up a convo and you’ll find your people.

Motorsportsreg.com will help you find events to attend. Cars and coffee is a good place to start.

Cars and coffee. Find one local, show up with a good attitude and find a buddy for the day. Rinse and repeat till youve got friends.

It's worked for me.

Go to car meets. Talk to folks. Avoid ram drivers.
FlatSixFun@reddit
This is the way. Easy to make friends at car meetups.
Mysterious-Edge5721@reddit
I wouldn't. Car scenes are usually toxic. Just do my own thing. Lmao

It's gonna sound crazy but back in the day we used to go out into the work every day and talk to the people we encountered. I don't think we ever tried to make friends. Seems like it just happened naturally.

Find a local Civic or Honda Facebook Group and watch posts for events. Show up, shake hands, talk cars.

Facebook groups, being in the car scene within your local area and just bullshitting with random guys with modified cars.
Buddy has a ported RX8 now it turned into a powered 3 series wagon, 2 motorbikes and a JDM TTRS.

Online forums used to be a good way. Find a 6th Gen Civic forum or discord and get chatting with people on there. There's a good chance some of them live nearby. They also often have meetups - go and make friends!
