Moving to another country and anxiety is hitting me already

I’ve been planning this for two years but planning something in your brain and it being reality is entirely different. Anxiety is hitting me and idk which is the best way to handle the situation. I’m pretty sure that once I get there and form a routine things will get easier.

Why do you have anxiety for something you've dreamt of?

Moving to another country is stressful at first, even if it was your dream. There are many things that need to be done, plus that you know nobody, you gotta establish a new routine, you don’t speak your mother tongue. It’s normal to be stressed

It's also normal to be happy and excited. The choice is yours.

From the moment I got a job, I moved 3 months later. I went crazy because of anxiety, but you are right, once you're there, everything goes better. The problem is that now you don't know what to expect, you can't even picture the place because you've never seen it. But once it will became real, it will be easier. You'll be fine.

If you have been planning this for years then I am sure you knew that many people experienced what you are experiencing now.
I knew this as well, so when I started experiencing my own pre departure anxiety I found comfort in reminding myself that I am well prepared and that things are happening how I expected things to happen.

You will feel like that until you come to the airport and pass all the security. Then the "I got this, I've done this before" will kick in (at least the travel part). Somehow it's more scary when you think about it than actually living it. And a lot of us have been through the same emotional roller-coaster, if that brings you any comfort

I’m feeling similarly! Been planning for two years and going later this summer. It’s a BIG life change, it’d be weird if you didn’t feel nervous.
But so much of that nervousness is also excitement. Life is long. We can always move back or somewhere else. The world is such a big place and there are so many different ways that people love. It’d be a shame to not see it, if even for a little while.
