What part of the ship would you like to be stuck in for hours? (Besides the bridge)

10 forward!
CptSiskospimphand@reddit
Engineering. You would have to drag me out of there kicking and screaming.
CM_Shortwave@reddit (OP)
I’d like to be a fly on that wall.
CptSiskospimphand@reddit
For a long time I thought I would be in command, but I know now id be the guy yelling at the bridge to "STOP EFFING UP MY SHIP!!!"😂
CM_Shortwave@reddit (OP)
“A ship in harbor is safe, but that's not what ships are built for" is a famous quote by John A. Shedd.
CF19751999@reddit
My room… outdoor sleep, work etc
carisjax@reddit
Define stuck. I would love to be stuck in the transporter room when multiple delegations are coming on board.
CM_Shortwave@reddit (OP)
I guess Chief O’Brien was technically a receptionist.
carisjax@reddit
I prefer to think of Jim as the Boatswain's mate.
World_still_spins@reddit
Wherever there is food or rations, probably the gym or 10-forward.
CM_Shortwave@reddit (OP)
I’m on a bland diet, so rations for me too.
species__8472__@reddit
Engineering. The password to eject the core is 1234.
CM_Shortwave@reddit (OP)
The unluckiest number
ThunderPigGaming@reddit
Ten Forward.
Crockettt696969@reddit
The holodeck for hours of Vulcan gang bangs.
arctic-aqua@reddit
The zero-gravity gym Wesley mentions in the first episode, but we never get to see.
bloodred1978@reddit
Holodeck! Because from there you could recreate any other part of the ship, provided there were no malfunctions....!
YYZHND@reddit
Data’s quarters - I want to pet Spot
Jumpy-Ad-3198@reddit
Tell him he is a pretty cat and a good cat
DungBeetle1983@reddit
My quarters, so I can take a nap.

Excuse me handsome man here! Did somebody say that somebody mucked up the holodeck biofilter's Tee hee!
Valuable_Ad9554@reddit
Sorry this gif is overused but it felt appropriate 😂
ReBoomAutardationism@reddit
He's thinking pokeys! We have seen that gif too.
FMPhoenixHawk@reddit
Sealed in my quarters, ready to be sucked out into space. At least they might survive atmospheric re-entry after being ripped out of the ship.
CM_Shortwave@reddit (OP)
Saucer separation?
FMPhoenixHawk@reddit
Random space event.
HariSeldonsIntern@reddit
Besides bridge, Holodeck and Ten Forward, I think sick bay would be the most interesting part of the ship, just because you'd get to see a little bit of everything and learn all about how medicine has evolved.
Korzag@reddit
Behold! Our magic science bed which has a machine that can identify any issue immediately! And over here is our medicine cart which contaiis hyposprays to cure nearly any ailment, except the Romulan flu, of course!
AbrocomaUnusual3399@reddit
It’s never lupus.
johnnyma45@reddit
It’s crazy how tiny sick bay is, considering it services thousands of people.
steak820@reddit
Axcorisng to the blueprints, iirc there is a copy and pasted mirror version of the sick bay directly opposite the one we see, and there's rooms of medibeds too.
All juuuust out of frame. But they're totally there.
Spackleberry@reddit
Maybe we only see a small part of it and there are patient and treatment rooms "offscreen".
On the other hand, since everyone is nearby and the computer can monitor your vitals anywhere, maybe the less severe patients are just confined to quarters while the nurses visit them.
Siliconshaman1337@reddit
NOT the holodeck. Stuck implies something went wrong and one thing we all know is that a glitchy holodeck is not a safe place to be.
No, I'd opt for ten-forward. Even if the replicators are on the fritz, Guinan keeps a few bottles under the counter... next to that disrupter rifle of hers.
Queasy-Ad-6741@reddit
The holodeck
Fuzzy_Builder_2153@reddit
Cetacean Ops
CM_Shortwave@reddit (OP)
As opposed to crustacean ops
Kincoran@reddit
Crew station ops are all over the ship, though
Fuzzy_Builder_2153@reddit
Crustacean Ops is a seafood restuarant
VanBriGuy@reddit
Holodeck is the only real answer. You can pretend to be stuck anywhere on the ship or off the ship from there
kaptiankuff@reddit
Only 3 answers. Battle bridge/ main engineering /the holodeck
Sea-Quality4726@reddit
The large mall/atrium that we never saw.
CM_Shortwave@reddit (OP)
The Ferengi would think twice about attacking a ship with a large mall/atrium.
CM_Shortwave@reddit (OP)
Like the promenade?
Sea-Quality4726@reddit
More a giant park with plazas and green spaces. Think the national mall in DC, not the mall of America.
CM_Shortwave@reddit (OP)
I guess that would be crowded, 24/7
Sea-Quality4726@reddit
The ship was designed for 5000 before Roddenberry changed his mind to 1000 and refused to allow any more change to the model. So nothing on the ship would be crowded.
strangway@reddit
The Technical Manual says 10,000, I think.
Sea-Quality4726@reddit
There's a lot of numbers out there for standard and emergency complement. But Probert designed it with an understanding of 5000.
He also interpreted "the attack section separates from the saucer" in a way that would have been much easier for the show to use but that was also nixed.
strangway@reddit
I remembered it wrong. The big-D can hold more than 15,000 people, though the exact number is still unspecified.
From the TNG Technical Manual
In a rescue scenario:
Which could assume an existing crew complement of ~1,000, then adding those 15,000 evacuees, would make that about 16,000 total.
Important_Power_2148@reddit
assuming no malfunctions? Holodeck of course.
robonlocation@reddit
There's always malfunctions, and the safeguards are always not working.
Snigglebear@reddit
That’s why you’re stuck there
d1rron@reddit
"Computer - exit!" 🤔
Pumpkin-Spice_Queen@reddit

Important_Power_2148@reddit
Sorry. those Tellarite pig noses just drive me crazy.
Malnurtured_Snay@reddit
Does it have to be a ship? I'd love to be stuck in the Promenade!
CM_Shortwave@reddit (OP)
I was thinking about broken turbo lifts, so that’s cool.
ExpectedBehaviour@reddit
The holodeck of course. I could be anywhere without going anywhere.
CM_Shortwave@reddit (OP)
"Mobilis in mobili" is the motto of Captain Nemo and his submarine, the Nautilus, in Jules Verne's 1870 novel Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea. It is a Latin phrase that translates to "moving within the moving element" or "mobile within the mobile," symbolizing the vessel's adaptability and freedom within the ever-changing, vast ocean.

A Jefferies Tube with T'Pol would work.

Riker’s strip club.
hubertyv@reddit
I gotta see this arboretum they’re always talking about.
lokiandgoose@reddit
Have we never seen it? What about the place where Mrs. Troy takes Kirsten Dunst on that terrible picnic?
Odd_Order_4217@reddit
Engineering cause it seems cool. But only if Data is there
lokiandgoose@reddit
The noise of the warp engine would put me right to sleep. Just tuck me in Jim Shamoda Corner on that thick carpet
ProbablyStu@reddit
If Geordie was there he could get an incorporate crush on you!
strangway@reddit
I’d like to hang out at the bottom of the ship, deck 42, and curl up with a good book. It’s probably very quiet down there.
Moghlannak@reddit
Picard’s Ready Room. I could live in there like a studio apartment
CM_Shortwave@reddit (OP)
Cool ship models

Give me a data padd with the best novels of the 22nd, 23rd on it, and 24th centuries and I would be happy pretty much anywhere.

Im getting that chocolate Sunday in 10 forward!
SouthpawXtn@reddit
Ten Forward. At the very least, I could curl up next to the front window and take a nap. At best, I'd be able to grab some drinks and wait until whatever the issue was is over. Either that or my quarters.
Key-Criticism4791@reddit
10 forward. I'd be drunk as a monkey by the time they rescued me.
MarioJinn2@reddit
The arboretum would be very cool to check out
No_Pilot_9103@reddit
Sick bay on Crusher's shift, duh.
CM_Shortwave@reddit (OP)
Probably no Klingon tea ceremony there #Pulaski
ReubenTrinidad619@reddit
Sick bay would be where I work but I would want to hang out with Worf doing his Worf yoga in my downtime
Svenderhof@reddit
It is NOT, "yoga."
salamander_salad@reddit
“Klingons do not do yoga.”

Ten forward.

That acoustic sweet spot commander daren found and just chill.
nocommentneveragain@reddit
The main shuttlebay would be cool to see in person. 4 decks high, baby!
plastikb0y@reddit
Guinan literally has a strap and alien cocktails. Ten 4.
CM_Shortwave@reddit (OP)
I wouldn’t mind some devalian hot chocolate
Mathematicus_Rex@reddit
The transporter room, provided it’s working
CM_Shortwave@reddit (OP)
Might see some celebrities
Truhmpza_Cuhnt@reddit
The arboretum. I mean it's just a park, on a ship, in space. Seems pleasant enough.
KorEl555@reddit
Not the holodeck. Can you imagine staring at those blanks walls and nothing else for hours? If I'm stuck, the ship must be in distress, and the power is out, or at least on low power.
switchonthelights@reddit
Holodeck, you can choose to be in any part of the ship - providing there’s a program
undwiedervonvorn@reddit
Ten forward. Guinan has a lot to tell, for sure.
