For sure, I’d agree that almost their entire catalog is overpriced. My BUL Commander is alarmingly nice for $800 compared to anything Springfield is offering

I’d put BUL another tier or two above Springfield. They’re incredibly nice.
In Springfield’s price point, you’re in the ballpark of a lot of colt, Dan Wesson, Sig, BUL, Smith, or one of the newer Kimber warriors. I’d just assume to buy a Tisas over Springfield at this point. I’m not a fan of Springfield in general though, co-opting the name of the original just to import the majority of their stuff from Croatia and market them as their own.

Yeah I do dislike the way they’re using the name but at least the imported stuff seems pretty decent. Similar thing with a lot of modern Winchesters and Brownings

They seem to be fairly reliable from all I’ve seen, I just don’t particularly like a lot of it. The XD line isn’t my favorite but they do keep running. The echelon seems pretty solid. I don’t like the hellcat at all. The kuna is decent for the money but it’s bouncy for a pcc. The hellion is really cool

Yeah the ergos on the Kuna seem nice but it’s not offering much else compared to my Extar as far as I can tell, and it’s got tough competition with the Stribogs and MP5 clones

Agreed. I'd rather have a CMP mix-master garand or even one of thier new in-house production models over something Springfield produced considering they've done nothing more than coopt the old armory's name to pull the wool over the markets' collective eyes.

Okay, but what about JAKL upper + random normal AR15 lower in a SRU SARB-15 bullpup kit? (I may or may not have an abundance of lowers.)
I mean, okay, yeah, I could probably just get a Springfield Hellion or whatever else bullpup rifle or something, but in VA so might not be able to wait for a good sale and I might want to try some funky funky things with an AR later down the line.

Yeah, every review I've seen of these indicates that they're an awful shooting experience even by bullpup standards. After taxes and shipping that PSA charges, you can find a Tavor for the same price on other sites.
