Gonna be honest, if you get lcwra, housing benefit and pip then youre only about £100-200 worse of a month. But then again you wouldn't be having to spend £100 on transport a month. So go volunteer, do what you like, travel, you can go anywhere whenever so you can get some really cheap flights. Theres always charities looking for volunteers, mens groups, women's groups etc. Paint? Do some ground maintenance in your area, sweeping, edging etc.

I already volunteer

If you can cook then look into working at a care home. Theres loads looking for weekend cooks and its a very rewarding and easy job. All you need is a level 2 food hygeine certificate which you do online, takes 20 minutes and costs about £12.

Call centre.

Stop wasting your time in learning courses, just get any minimum wage job. Save up money.

It's a bit hard to save money when you're on minimum wage.

Yeah, it’s hard. But it’s doable. People spend a lot on stuff they don’t need. Spending other people’s money isn’t a long term solution. Downsize apartment, spend less on food, no alcohol or cigarettes or takeaways or junk food. Not everybody has what it takes.

Has what it takes?

To live a lean living within your means so that you can gain wealth as opposed to lose wealth over time. Slowly build up your assets, assets appreciate in value and can bring income whereas your labour is made less valuable every year via wage suppressive measures, inflation, and tax boundary stagnation. The UK is currently living a fantasy by bribing voters to win elections and building up an enormous amount of debt. When everything collapses I won’t be pretty and the poorest, as always, will be the most vulnerable. Work any job you can get and save all you can, lower your burn rate to as low as you can. Save up all the free taxpayer money you are being given too, and invest it. If other people are pulling on the public purse, it would be unfair for you not to do so if you can. But actually attempt to build wealth with the money otherwise nothing will ever change or move in a positive direction in your life. Sorry, this is hard news but it’s also the way up and out.

I don’t drive but never had a problem finding support work (together with lots of other people I know ). Go to an agency , they should be able to find you somewhere where you don’t need to drive

I don't know how to find the agencies. I just look on Indeed. All the support worker roles on Indeed need cars.

Just Google social care job agencies in your area or something like that . Where I am there are also agencies that recruit people for farms and factories . I know lots of people who found a job through an agency who literary don’t speak a word in English . It might be unique to the south , but if they can find a job , you can too . I think your problem is confidence rather than anything else . When I first came to the Uk 27 years ago, I was on student visa and was doing cleaning jobs while studying English . When we became a part of the EU , I could have done any job I wanted to , but I carried on doing cleaning jobs because I was sure that there was no job I would be actually good at or was capable of doing . Later on , by some luck rather than my own doing , I got a job in a homeless shelter . And to my surprise I actually was able to have a normal job and be reasonably good at it . When you have low self-esteem ,you think that everybody is much better at something. I used to . Guess what , lots of people are absolutely rubbish at their jobs and somehow they even become managers .

There are other routes into care work. You say you thought about being a mental health nurse so I’ll lean into that.
I’ve recently started domiciliary care and I’m loving it. In my job I get to drive about a feel more part of the community. It’s not something I ever thought I’d do initially. Maybe there are care manager roles you could try - route planning, shift assigning.
On the other hand, something a bit different - have you thought about teaching/instructing? PPA cover is basically teaching unqualified. Might be worth a shot?
Ultimately it needs to be what you want to do so ignore my suggestions if they are rubbish. Retail should be a last resort but there are some retailers that will look after you better than others.
Have more confidence in yourself and don’t bring yourself down. Get applying and rehearse your interviews with someone if you feel that’s a weak point.
You’ll find something 😌☺️
