I ride the Xpro Drax X - 4500w 60v 30ah 19” tires - thing is a beast and has handled EVERY trail and hill (I did a 35 degree with no issues) and creek I’ve taken it on. Top speed 45mph with my fat ass on it, can get 35 miles of range out of a charge.
10yo Son rides a Windone RM7 - 60v 2500w 27ah 14/12” tires - perfect for him as a starter bike, he’s at around 250 miles
These bikes are amazing and we ride them off road 95% of the time. Can’t wait to upgrade in a year or so after I get better at riding! So maybe don’t vote to ban all emotos bc we are having a blast and not hurting anyone

To anyone who's saying OP is lumping two different vehicles together -- to be fair, he did say he was riding an e-moto upfront in the caption. Check out mesh intercom helmet radios for an extra element of fun and safety with multiple riders. Do want to clarify three things that are currently legislation federally and in most states (no judgement - it just is what it is):
2a. If yes to 2, do you (let alone your son) have a license, license plate, registration, and insurance? If no, this is not allowed. These are required.
2b. If yes, do you and your son have street-converted e-motos? If no, this is not allowed. Easy to retrofit - just required a few components.
If somehow you've found a loophole to these riding conditions, looks good!

The XPro, just because it’s bigger and I’m 6’ 220lbs. Windone is a champ though, it’s never had any issues and my son is able to keep up with me the entire ride no matter the obstacles

Can you advise me for steep steep driveways? The kind that cannot exist where there is snow/ice because way too steep. 4 vehicles have needed towing in 10 years. Mostly the long delivery vans, and the four wheels which one doesn’t touch the ground due to weirdness in the slope…

Not sure about service but Xpro support is pretty great so far. Bike was ordered on a Sunday and at my house that Friday from TX. It’s not street legal but has the physical parts to be street legal, head lights , blinkers, brake lights, can add mirrors. In my state I’m attempting to get a VIN for it under the “home built” vehicle category. If I’m successful then I can register it and be 100% legal

Emotos don’t have an age limit, just like regular dirtbikes. The age limit is to use them on the road and go a certain speed. Nobody is asking you if your child is 16 when selling you a 50cc child’s dirtbike lol, that’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard. We ride on WMA land, if bikes can ride it I’m riding it, if someone wants to call the cops or if they want me to stop they can and I will but until that happens I’m just gonna continue riding the TN Dirt Devil and the WMA horse trails. It’s street legal if it could be registered, waiting to be able to do that, and in that case, no my son would not be allowed to ride on the roads just like he isn’t now

They actually do have an age *minimum*, but you're right, not a limit. The regulations are for capability, not for operating speed at any given moment. If the vehicle can move at >28mph, it has exceeded the Class 3 limitation. Not to mention, even Class 3s have a minimum age of 16.
I'm not trying to take away your rights -- this is just what they are in the good old US of A.
Parents are responsible if there is an accident, which is why retailers don't ask about the age of riders of gifted bikes upon sale - instead they assume a given rider will only ride it on private property or in their backyard (because those are the only two places to legally ride them if you are under 16 years old), but I'd guess many retailers also do warn buyers of the age limit before purchase.
Riding an e-moto on any kind of public WMA land, much of which is public, regardless of speed is not legal. You know this already it seems.
Right, so get it street-converted, registered, and plated. And then -- for yourself and all riders -- get licensed.

If the e-moto is street-converted, it's road-legal. If it's not, it has to be towed, walked, or carried to and from private land.
I stand corrected about the OHV BLM land! I'm glad places like that exist.
Btw, maybe unrelated, but you made me think about the rides my dad and I have gone on on our e-bikes the past several years. What stands out most has been the ability to communicate with each other freely while riding because we both have wireless mesh intercom systems on our helmets. They're an absolute game changer. Rides have become so much more meaningful with them and I really love being able to share the experience in the moment without having to stop or get within earshot to talk.

I’m 6ft 190 lbs and the bike fits great. If you’re bigger than that then I’d go with something bigger. It’s more of a medium size bike and very light but rips.
