Y'all ever use one of these?
DameKitty@reddit
I had one, my parents did not. I used to buy the film for it. I used it to take pictures of my friends.
RoastedPickledGoose@reddit
Note to any Xennials cleaning out their parents’ house. If you find these cameras, just know there is a very solid chance of stumbling across photos you can’t unsee.

😂
LLPhotog@reddit
You can still get film for them!
Emergency_Air_1548@reddit
Some dudes reverse engineered the film. It's real but not OG polaroid
LLPhotog@reddit
Sort of.
Polaroid, as a company, was essentially sold for scrap to an offshore company in the early/mid 2000s. That company discontinued original Polaroid film.
The Impossible Project attempted to replicate the film in the 2010s but had a lot of trouble because the chemistry was patented along with several other processes.
Eventually they were able to acquire the intellectual property and produce the film correctly. It’s still not Polaroid as we knew it then but it’s definitely not the total crap shoot Impossible Project film was. It’s like a third wave.

Seen it at Walmart!!!!

I had a friend ask me lately in advice what new camera to buy. Apparently small compact cameras are a thing again. She sent me links with prices 50-200 euros. FOR A COMPACT CAMERA. I scoffed to myself as I have a degree in photography and I know a thing or two, and headed over to eBat. And my jaw dropped even further. This is insane. These are not the vintage cameras worth their salt. I can understand getting a vintage actual camera with changable lenses etc. But a compact?! I advised to go and rummage through the drawers at her parents' house. Everyone had these compact cameras, there is no need to buy a new one for stupid amount of money.
On a different note - you could make a decent amout by selling these.

Hmmm ..there's a thought...it have to be a collector, I presume..
Wingkongexpress@reddit
Ahh the original gremlin deterrent! Until I was about 11 and me cousin and I found some Polaroids under a bridge that changed our lives forever
IncredibleBulk2@reddit
Do tell
Wingkongexpress@reddit
lol, it was a lady ( probably early twenties probably ) being lifted up in the air by two dudes each holding a leg. She was nude. It was a pretty clear shot. We were in kid glory.
Seven22am@reddit
Hey uhhh… this is awkward but do you think we could that back? Been looking for that for a while now.
IncredibleBulk2@reddit
That's amazing. New life goal unlocked.
graveybrains@reddit
Do you want to find the bridge porn, or get lifted by two dudes?
IncredibleBulk2@reddit
Lifted in the nude by two people of any gender.
Jakes-buddy-1307@reddit
My day was a tech guy…he had one
jdw1977@reddit

The black and white Polaroid film makes for some amazing decoupage when you peel off the black coating on the back
rjcpl@reddit
I don’t remember the first time using one. But the last was to take some nudes, scan them, then share with someone I regularly cybered with on IRC. 🙃
e4evie@reddit
Just link the only fans account and be done with it…ha jk
rjcpl@reddit
Don’t make me slap you around with a large trout.
Possible-Tangelo9344@reddit
... is that content on your page? Asking for a friend.
jambr380@reddit
They have new Polaroid Go cameras that produce smaller pictures. I got one for Xmas. It is neat, but the film expires so quickly so the pictures are already a little muddy.
It did remind me that I like having actual pictures, though, so maybe I’ll actually go to CVS or whatever and have some pictures developed
mrs_hippiequeen@reddit
totally! ours even had the ice cube tray on top
tinylumpia@reddit
Some of us still use these 😊
That1Master@reddit
For what? 😉

One step beyond!
Spartan04@reddit
My mom had one but it’s long gone. I thought it was really cool but we hardly ever used it because the cost per picture was higher than 35mm and the quality of 35mm prints was better. Plus it was a pretty bulky camera for carrying around on family vacations and other things like that.
So for the most part it was unused unless we had something we wanted to be able to have pictures of right away.
Fuckin_Hipster@reddit
I mean... Yeah.
FoppyRETURNS@reddit
They're beauts!

Shake it like a Polaroid picture!
SunshineInDetroit@reddit

the film so expensive.
TheJokersWild53@reddit
The instant gratification camera.
Logical-Cherry9395@reddit
Ooooh and you know there's an entire video game franchise launched off this device that feels a lot like the 90s collided with the early 2010s. Life is Strange
AbominablePloughman@reddit
We were way too poor for these but I always wanted one
