I already have 240hz oled monitor was wondering if it was worth getting 360hz oled monitor. (i do play a lot of cs2)
JimBarrow77@reddit
i have a 480hz oled, worth it
Pattywhack_the_bear@reddit
I went from a 144 IPS to a 360 OLED and it made a big difference. That said, I'm not sure I can tell a difference at all between 240 and 360. I agree with the others who recommend saving the money for system upgrade.
Superzocker65YT@reddit
Same Upgrade, Just from 165Hz. The difference with OLED and 360Hz was just insane
lmfao_bruvv_1@reddit
Went from a 240hz va to 360hz oled I felt like Jesus on apex everything was so freaking smooth and clear... I get 240 locked and when I got the 360hz i uncapped my game to max frames which for apex is 300

Yea i think i was just impulse buying
Any-Literature-7834@reddit
Nah, save up for a bigger jump like to 480hz or 540hz or higher when those new monitors start to come out.
EdoTheOnlyOne@reddit
With what specs? What resolution? How much is it? Are you able to sell your 240/use it as a secondary monitor?
conckkk@reddit (OP)
I hi9-13900k, 4080 super, 64g ram, 6tb ssd
EdoTheOnlyOne@reddit
Try to see if you can hit 360 by raising the frame cap rn. Ig if you have a load of money saved it's fine
conckkk@reddit (OP)
Will do but i believe csgo caps at what your monitors is set on, on average i get around 225-232 playing on high that’s why im kinda hesitant on 360hz
ChefGD@reddit
225 fps with those specs? What res do you play on?
kelin1@reddit
If he’s capping at 225 in cs2 it’s bc of reflex. Reflex will cap you to 225 on a 240hz monitor.
conckkk@reddit (OP)
1440p and i do play on high settings i was kinda wondering the same thing, definitely seems like my computer wouldn’t drop at all with the hardware i have lol
Toxigodz@reddit
i have a worse system than you and i get 600fps at 1440p low so you should be able too
conckkk@reddit (OP)
I agree source726 showed me the command for max fps i’ll let you know after i get off work
Sufficient-Source726@reddit
Is your fps locked? Can you type fps_max 0 in the console and tell us what fps you are getting?
conckkk@reddit (OP)
You’re amazing i didn’t even realize you could do that, i did see a post about that command earlier this morning glad you reminded me!
conckkk@reddit (OP)
and i would be able to sell to a friend
pepenepe@reddit
If you can notice the difference between 165hz and 240hz I would say 360hz will make a small difference
Sp69py_@reddit
I play 480 hz specifically on cs and Val and I notice a very big difference coming from 240hz. Imo more hz is more competitive advantage (and just looks nicer) but as with anything, you do get less returns the higher u get.

I love my 27" 360hz OLED, but I upgraded from a 24" 120hz TN that was deteriorating. Not sure I can recommend the mild upgrade from a 240hz unless you're getting a good deal on it.
RareWestern8229@reddit
Generally no, if you didn't have an oled already then maybe consider a 360hz. It also depends if your pc can push the frames aswell
conckkk@reddit (OP)
i have msi 27 240hz oled right now
uzldropped@reddit
It’s not worth going from 240 to 360 if that’s the only part of the upgrade
al3x95md@reddit
Is this much worsw thab the eSports monitors with TN panels?
conckkk@reddit (OP)
funny words space man
_Rah@reddit
I play CS2 on my 480Hz. Even though I only get 300-400 FPS.
I think there is a benefit over 240Hz, but its small. Its subtle. If money isnt an issue then go for it. But dont expect very large returns on it.
KennKennyKenKen@reddit
I switched from 240hz to 360hz to 500hz.
Get 500hz if you want a noticeable improvement.
240hz to 360hz is barely perceptible
conckkk@reddit (OP)
I was thinking that but it felt like it was going to be overkill
seanxfitbjj@reddit
I’d say no and that’s with a 5090 and 9850x3d. You just won’t hit the frames often enough to justify the cost. 240 is pushing it sometimes and squeezing another 120 in most games just won’t happen.
conckkk@reddit (OP)
Yea I definitely agree I think I just wanted to spend money for no reason lmao
KristusYunasun@reddit
keep the money, buy another cpu or gpu upgrade later on. monitor doesnt matter, hardware does. and you want to keep a backup hardware always from now on. this is the economy. look for potential second hand, after the 60 series come out, 50 series will go second hand and intel and ryzen cpu. always have a backup pc components
conckkk@reddit (OP)
Very good point, definitely going to do that
Infamous-Ad-3078@reddit
No
conckkk@reddit (OP)
agreed
draven33l@reddit
No. While having a higher hz monitor is never a bad thing, it’s not going to be noticeable. First, you’d have to have a game that can even hit 360fps which CS2 can, but your eyes are very unlikely to see a difference. After about 144fps-165fps, it’s near indistinguishable. 144 is the sweet spot, but with higher hz monitors, it gives you headroom.
conckkk@reddit (OP)
Very good point, thank you
Sufficient-Source726@reddit
With your specs you can easily hit 400+ fps if you tweak things properly, so a 360hz would make sense. Will you see a huge change though? Not really, neither will it make you a better player. If you have the money and just want a new monitor, you can buy it, but know that you are not making that crazy of an upgrade as you've been lead to believe
conckkk@reddit (OP)
Yea i believe this is what i needed to hear but i can definitely tweak some setting to keep a steady 240hz, i have a feeling nivida geforce has a part to play in this.
AceLamina@reddit
only if you can reach 360 fps
Squishy_singer@reddit
If you have the money then, yes. But if you are more budget minded no. Wait for your current monitor to burn in then go for it.
