How long do you take to drink a cup of tea?
How long after its made do you drink it?
About 3 minutes after its made, I start to drink it, and I take a good 10 minutes.

I don't really like tea, had covid a few years ago and it altered my taste so tea tastes weird, but I can't drink coffee when I get up. I'd say anywhere between 5 minutes to an hour, I'll forget it's there and it goes cold.
I used to really like tea, no sugar and the smallest splash of milk.
Penster78@reddit
10 minutes. No messing about with sipping. Just down it in one.
pinkbritishchav@reddit
Does no one else love a cup of tea once it goes cold?
Life-Lifeguard-5021@reddit
It depends on the taste. I drink my honey scented oolong from pipi in like 5 minutes because I enjoy it and it’s a bit sweet but green tea takes me way longer since i’m not really a fan of the taste!
ExplodingDogs82@reddit
I make two at once …one for now and one for the future. The first is gone inside an hour …sometimes the second is downed the following morning. It gives my poor wife the ick (which might be why I do it)
OrionGrant@reddit
Don't tend to let it cool down much as I like it hot. Usually gone within about 5 mins of it being made.
continentaldreams@reddit
Same. If it's not burning my tongue, I don't want it.
OrionGrant@reddit
I'm like that with food too, hot or cold is good but not a fan of lukewarm stuff.
pmmeyourpeacesign@reddit
I'll down ones I make at home in 5 -10 minutes but if I'm in coffee shop I'll take my time.
ghostlight1969@reddit
The best brew is one that you can drink without letting it cool. It tastes so good and thirst-quenching that you’re willing to forgo third degree burns to your tongue. These brews, in my experience, are very rare.
Normally, it’s a couple of minutes’ cool-down time and around 10-15 drinking time.
heyitsBriBri@reddit
Sometimes several hours, after several rounds of going through the microwave. Sometimes I find the forgotten tea; holding a cup to be microwaved only to find an already forgotten cup of tea already in the microwave
mousey76397@reddit
How are you people drinking boiling hot water straight from the kettle? For me it’s at least 10 mins before it’s cool enough to drink, then 5 mins after that it’s cold.
Salty_Username@reddit
If it doesn't hurt to drink I've left it too long. Or rather, I can never wait and its gone before it cools. Maybe 2 - 3 mins after I make it? The key is small but constant sips.
NinjaTeaDrinker@reddit
Up to 45 minutes, depending on how ninja I'm feeling
Redgrapefruitrage@reddit
I have a 6 month old baby so I almost never finish a tea or coffee. I end up heating up the same cup several times or just drink it cold.
Ok-Constant-2683@reddit
I mainly drink green, peppermint or chamomile tea, and all of those are fine hot or cold, so it can take up to or even longer than an hour sometimes.
When I used to drink builders tea with milk in I would never touch it after it had gone cold.
Potential-Ordinary-5@reddit
Depends on the reason for the cup.
Procrastinating a task - 1 hour Running late - 5 minutes Just because - 20-30 minutes
Icy_Mixture1482@reddit
I moved to Taiwan and when I make a cuppa, it takes about half an hour to drink because the room temperature is so warm it doesn’t cool down quickly.
When I was back in England for Christmas, the cold rooms meant my tea would go cold within about ten minutes, and stupid me kept forgetting and ending up with cold tea.
A_Chicken_Called_Kip@reddit
It’s either 5 minutes when it’s cooled enough to sip, or 3 hours after I remember it and shout “MY TEA!”
StereotypicallBarbie@reddit
Relatable
VictoryAppropriate68@reddit
Or the next day when you walk past the cup you put in an odd spot and remember oh yes, I made tea yesterday and that’s where I put it

Are we having a slow day by any chance...??

What's your favourite humming noise? Would it be hmmmm.... Or HMMMMMM?
StereotypicallBarbie@reddit
About 10 minutes to be fair… my hairdresser gulps hers down in about a minute! Because she can only drink it red hot.
MahatmaAndhi@reddit
If I'm heading out but fancy a cuppa before I go, I'll make sure I've got 20 minutes. But I do drink mine black and I do like it fairly cool.
spanner1991@reddit
I like it hot enough so it nearly burns the back of my throat
bossanovasupernova@reddit
5 minutes
ShingledPringle@reddit
Depends.
I'm a tea tank like my Dad was.
SirLongShank@reddit
15 mins
Plus-Dare-2746@reddit
My husband drinks his tea fast like you do. I'm much slower. I will wait 5 to 10 minutes until I take my first sip, and I will take about 25 to 30 minutes to finish the cup.
GoodTato@reddit
I tend to make a full pot and keep topping up my cup so genuinely, no idea.
Maybe I'll time myself today and get you a real answer
AzzTheMan@reddit
5 mins waiting for it to cool down, followed by 10-30 mins of forgetting about it, then 30 seconds to drink a luke warm/cold tea.
Expensive-Draw-6897@reddit
I can't drink mine straight away, I don't sipping hot liquid.
I need to wait at least 5 minutes.
pgnlzbth@reddit
I have a cup of tea on the go constantly. I occasionally sit and drink it as soon as it’s made, but more often than not it sits around for a while and I’ll either drink it bit by bit or all at once when I remember! I’m quite used to drinking it stone cold. I think it’s from when I had small children and would get fed up of having to microwave it, so in the end just drank it cold! I do prefer a hot fresh brew, though.
GlitteringAngle8601@reddit
it takes me 5 mints max to finish my tea chilling in ac
Bose82@reddit
This is up there with one of the most boring things I've seen on reddit.
karatekid572@reddit
15-30mins normally. But i drink black coffee, and happily drink it after an hour and its cold
Extreme-Banana-9@reddit
I'll take my first sip within 2 minutes and it takes me 15 minutes to finish! (I'm a coffee drinker tho).
djwillis1121@reddit
Too long, and then I end up with about 1/3 of a mug of tepid tea that I just have to down in one go
CosmicLunar_@reddit
It varies day by day, usually within 10 mins, occasionally I forget to drink all together. I made one this morning and forgot, and now there are floaties.
zecrichardson@reddit
It depends. Sometimes a couple of minutes and another time its gone in seconds
