Is there a way to remove frit/ black dots from automotive glass?

First about the problem. When the previous owner was doing a windshield replacement, he somehow forgot about the existence of rain sensor in this car, and bought the glass that doesn't have a cutout for it. Now the sensor is unusable and permanently tells the car its heavy rain. I had to unplug it to make wipers work at least in normal speeds. I'd like to know if there's a way to remove the frit or somehow make the sensor work though them without replacing the expensive glass. Any suggestions? I'd consider moving the sensor downwards but I doubt the wire is long enough.

Did you end up finding a solution to this? No auto glass shop can get a windshield for my car with the rain sensor cutout for whatever reason. And i need a new windshield.

Never did unfortunately :(
I'd have to replace the windshield, but it seemed like too much work for a lousy sensor, so I just kept it that way and manually turned it on. Old cars didn't have reliable sensors anyway.
Still have the car, but barely anyone drives it anymore and it's almost unsellable.
But i was thinking about sanding it off and trying to polish the spot. High grit, lots of water, keeping it cool... Wouldn't be pretty but would work.
