I had several burned CD's with this classic track back in 2000. What other hidden gems made it to your stack of CD's?

When I finally got a decent little amp and two tens, I would blare this from my tiny truck.
maringue@reddit
Is the (Cover) really needed?

Anyone know which house that is? I feel like ive seen it at least a dozen places. Most recently in the director's cut of Rocky 4, which had a bunch of deleted scenes added back in. That's the Balboa residence in 4.

56 Fremont Place in Beverly Hills, LA, CA, USA. It’s historical and in movies and tv dating back to World War I
Tylerdurden389@reddit
Thanks. As a kid i thought Rockys mansion looked more like Cali.than Philly lol
DangerousLoner@reddit
Haven’t seen the movie but as a So Cal native I always laugh when locations with obvious mountain ranges I’ve seen are in the background or palm trees in what is supposed to be a back east or Midwest setting.

I always have hated the "but it's a cover" crowd. It's a whole vibe and it was fun. It's ok to like a cover more than the original. Shit. Most people live some covers for songs they never knew existed.
This song had a great - this is a time of life feeling - vibe and I was at the peek age for it. 22, just graduated college, just got married, first job, new friends, new town, new life, fun times.
SIMPSONBORT@reddit
This is brutal. Easy E would fuck these guys up lol
cjwi@reddit
Easy S would have 100% endorsed this shit all the way to the bank.
DangerousLoner@reddit
Right!? That’s like Dolly Parton being mad that Whitney Houston covered ‘I Will Always Love You’. When asked Dolly said it was a lovely rendition of the song she wrote and the payments she received for it were astronomical.

Fuck these guys... I was in college when this crap came out. Its about the most low effort way you could ruin/appropriate a song ever.

Alien Art farm has entered the chat
Chawp@reddit
Are you ok?
IWouldntIn1981@reddit
Another great example.
No-Dig-4408@reddit
This whole album was full of bangers.
"Anyway," "Dear Kate," and "Slice of Heaven" are in my rotation to this day.
elkniodaphs@reddit
Dear Kate still gets stuck in my head all the time. Switcheroo and Wussypuff too.
Dean_Proffitt@reddit
Switcheroo! ❤️
col_clipspringer@reddit
From start to finish, such an amazing album.
Dazzling-Emu-6054@reddit
I was just humming this song yesterday!
TacoTheSuperNurse@reddit
Haha me too.
purplecrayonadventur@reddit
Man, they rippin everybody off.
PhoneJazz@reddit
A song that could never be released in 2026. It would be met with accusations of appropriation/mocking black culture.
BulimicMosquitos@reddit
Saw them open for Weezer back in 2000. Killer.
jesusmansuperpowers@reddit
I prefer the gourds. Or phish if this is limewire
8last@reddit
Weezer got a lot of credit for this one.

I had this song downloaded to my original Xbox hard drive. I used to play it when I'd play the Halo campaign.
normllikeme@reddit
Classic
Thicknineinchh@reddit
I hate it.
Funkopedia@reddit
I knew a lot of people who were really really into this song and none of them knew it was a cover, just thought it was a 'cleverly hilarious' over-the-top parody of gangsta rap.
Secure_Bed_9110@reddit
"Fly, punkass, flyyyy" in this guy's voice runs through my head weekly.
Indecision123@reddit (OP)
That's hilarious. It really is a great cover so I can see how people didn't know it was one.
Ultimate-Flexionator@reddit
wow it's like so unexpected. wooow
Indecision123@reddit (OP)
Lmao right? So smooth with it
Ultimate-Flexionator@reddit
amazing
