Laying in my sleeper browsing reels and then I hear a loud POP and glass shattered on my head. Im so confused, no one was parked next to me and I didn't feel something hit my truck?? Just let my OTRS know but I'm still sitting here confused.

You can only fart so many times in those cabs

Butt explosions from too many roller dogs have smashed out quite a few windows out in these roads.
Outlaw_Trucker@reddit
Glass is in constant tension waiting for an opportunity to let it go. A chip at any point can go for quite a while without shattering. Just takes a temperature change or a slight bump after that and all that stored tension let's go.

There is a (cough) certain group (cough) that likes to throw spark plugs towards truckers' windows and then post it on IG/TT. I have seen a couple of these videos recently.

Please elaborate

Prime parking AKA reserved paid good spots(the ones closest to the actual building) at say Pilot, flying J, TA, or Loves.
LucHighwalker@reddit
Loves doesn't do paid parking (thankfully)
rydawg2727@reddit
I’ve been to a couple with paid spots

Loves doesn't do paid parking yet
It'll happen. just you wait.
bizzywhipped@reddit
Came here to say this. Just a tiny piece flung out will shatter the glass.
Were you parked … creatively ?
Just_A_Random_Crow@reddit (OP)
Not at all- parked (and paid) in prime parking.

Is it either hot outside and cold in the truck or cold outside and hot in the truck? It’s not common, especially for glass on a motor vehicle, but temperature differential can shatter glass. I’m glad you’re safe and if I was a bullet or something you should get a police report filed for safety. Drive safe out there.
BadamPshh@reddit
Temp seems unlikely. I've been down in 120° AZ and I keep it ice cold in here. And the opposite in winter, these panes are made to withstand extremes
Just_A_Random_Crow@reddit (OP)
It was like 90 out today but it literally just happened and its 64 outside, i do crank the AC on max cold though?
somewhereincaleaf@reddit
If you’re a company driver just let them know and see what they can do but for tonight you’ll probably have to just tape up a bag or something. If you’re independent then you’ll have to figure it out. Shit happens and never at a good time, I swear. I got backed into in Florida right before a hurricane and it couldn’t be fixed until it passed so I was stuck there. Stay safe.
LilFunyunz@reddit
Auto glass can do that sometimes. You didn't find anything to indicate it was a rock or bullet or anything? Weird but possible.
MuphDiesel@reddit
Power load you shot above your head
Environmental-Pear40@reddit
Automotive glass remembers every tap. Just randomly blows out at some point. Had that happen with a pick up.
robexib@reddit
Significant shifts in temperature or drastic differences in temperature between sides can make glass shatter just because.
FloppyTacoflaps@reddit
The attempt on my life has left me scarred and deformed
ShoddySpace5680@reddit
Someone tried shooting you?
ZorosonD@reddit
Air pistol/rifle, catapult

A trebuchet surely

One does not simply drive past the Midget tossing Nationals with breakable windows.

Slingshot

No no it wasn't a gunshot, it sounded like the glass popping

Ahhh yes…you have to pay the Lot🦎 keeping you company isn’t free! Jk glad you’re okay but that sure is weird that it just broke out of no where
SeaRow556@reddit
For piece of mind look for anything that is either white like ceramic or metallic like silver or copper.
forkystabbyveggie@reddit
Yep I'm thinking spark plug ceramic
Alarming_Star_6549@reddit
The different temperatures can cause that. I haul cars and I've have that happen, the pressure increase or decrease is what happened. That piece of glass was perhaps the weakest link.
Still_Suit6573@reddit
Glad you're safe that's crazy
