Trouble Hoisting RS800 Spinnaker

What are some things I should check to improve my hoisting speed? The blocks seem to be rolling just fine, but it's a pain to hoist the spin. Our club has another boat and that seems to run perfectly fine.
Given that the halyard doesn't run inside the mast, what other things should I be checking?

Old kite is like 10x harder to hoist out of the sock. Try one of those PTFE sprays?

Older spinnakers are good at holding the water and using it to stick to the deck. If it all possible borrow a newer kite (and don't forget to tape the shrouds etc).
You can spray silicon and/or PTFE on the bit of the deck where the kite rubs but make REAL sure the boat is tipped forwards when you do it so it doesn't run back to where the crew's feet are.
How much resistance is there from the downhaul end? Any feet/arses on it?
