Sunglasses for flying

I am working on my PPL right now and looking at getting a quality pair of sunglasses for flying Long term. I know I’m looking for non polarized. I liked the Oakley Gibston, and my options seem to be black or blue/green.
I was wondering if the lense color factored into anything. And if anyone had any experience with Oakley sunglasses for flying.

Go to Target and buy some for 12 dollars. Seriously...they're sunglasses. None of them are going to make you a better pilot. Save your money for something actually useful. They're going to get dropped, kicked, scratched, and spend more time on the hangar and airplane floor than you'd want them to. Don't spend money on 'airplane' glasses when spending money on the airplane is the priority.

Flying Eyes, all day, every day.

Meta glasses

Anything with wire arms is best, otherwise you’ll end up with the arms sitting on top of your ear cups and your glasses angled down like a dingus. Ray ban is what I use, some square lenses wire arm model but there is a reason aviators are named that.

I use Oakley with Prizm lenses. No polarization. Works great. Love them

You're going to want some dorky looking aviators, you wanted the closest thinnest band you can get so it sits under the headset. The clamping pressure on my Bose or Lightspeeds would kill me if I had glasses as thick as you posted.
I use maui jim but any aviators will work, if you're getting something expensive find out if polarized glasses are going to be an issue with something cheap. My old GPS it was, my new one it's fine.

This! Get something with small temples. Any air or more importantly sound that gets in between the sunglasses and your headset can make the noise cancellation (whether passive or active) very meagre and therefore you're not able to hear as well and lose your hearing over many years too.
I would say try and avoid polarized, especially if there are any screens on the airplane.

Just get something you like. I only like sunglasses that are thin on the sides so i can still get a secure feeling fit from my headset without the pressure of a bulky sunglasses. Pol / non pol, up to you.

I use polarized and I’ve never had a problem. My instruments only get blocked if I turn my head 90 degrees either way.

Can’t comment on Oakleys specifically, but those look like they would interfere a bit with the seal on noise cancelling headphones.

Just a lowly GA guy, but I use Goodr. They are polarized, stay in place when I get sweaty, and best of all, cheap.

I wear Holbrooks. Nice flat arms. But I also use Pro Flights.
Lens color makes no difference.

Many existing discussions about sunglasses in this subreddit that would be worth your while to read.
I used to fly with Oakleys but went back to Randolph for wear under ANR headsets and helmets.

Keep in mind you’ll be wearing them under a headset, something thin that sits close to the temple will be more comfortable and block more noise.

Costco aviators work pretty good

You should start with some middle of the mall pair. Make sure you can keep track of a nice pair. Then when you know you wont lose them, the option you are showing here seems like a great choice.
