I agree with this. I bought a pack of the Cool Ranch ones the other day out of curiosity. I didn’t like how… naked they looked (just because I’m used to the food colouring), but holy wow, were they covered in magic flavour dust.

I stopped liking Doritos years ago because they got this bitter taste. Ive recently been able to enjoy them again because the NKD ones taste like classic Doritos. So yeah something definitely changed.

Because people still associate MSG with Asian food and anti-asian racism has risen a lot in the 2020s, especially with the US demonizing China so aggressively.

People falsely believed the MSG [a naturally present compound found in many vegetables and meats] was why they felt like shit after eating a pile of deep fried meat covered in syrup. Add in a little good 'ol common racism, and you got a marketing strategy!

I do know that theres weird misinfo about MSG interacting with certain inflammatory disorders and stuff too.

My stepfather and aunt are CONVINCED MSG hurts them despite me secretly having fed them MSG for years.
