This took me back

So if you were a kid of the 70s this will transport you back or at least it did me. At my friend/client/adopted Dad's to check on the dogs saw this an memories came flooding back. My mom still living two streets over from here was a Tupperware lady. Remember going to the parties and helping with the orders. Stuff is so well made. I am sure forever chemicals and everything but man I like the vibes.
captainfishhooks@reddit
Transported me right to county jail coffee cup. Thanks
Maleficent_Data_1421@reddit
Have about 4 or 5 of those in our rv
Kpop_shot@reddit
I still use my lunchbox. The lid is cracked and even before they went bankrupt, I couldn’t get a replacement. It may not seal but it still holds my lunch and fits in my cooler.
Dreadkiaili@reddit
I got this set off eBay a few years ago to replace the toy set I had as a kid.
AFLoneWolf@reddit
Score!
Peachsprite72@reddit
Yes we had all these in our play kitchen! And used them for real food too obviously
baconcheeseburgarian@reddit
Did you make your coffee with a percolator?
Tough_Arm_2454@reddit
We used these to go camping.
Capnhuh@reddit
Huh, that is my mother's current coffee mug.
lunicorn@reddit
These lived in our travel trailer, along with a set of melamine plates. Needed light and unbreakable. They probably could have served as bomb shelters for very small animals, too.
thinly_sliced_lemon@reddit
I can feel it on my teeth.
Elegant_Source900@reddit
I miss the old Tupperware.
glucoman01@reddit
That shit was gold.
crystalwood87@reddit
My sister and I would fight over the yellow one. There were yellow, orange, brown, green.
Pugs_in_Space@reddit
I had the children's tea set version of this mug as well as a Tupperware lunch box that I wasn't strong enough to open on my own (thanks Mom).
Sunribbon@reddit
My brother and I had the lunchboxes, orange and yellow I think. Still hard to open.
debinprogress@reddit
We had the toy mini pitcher and cups set.
Impossible_Girl_23@reddit
I remember making potions in the tub with the mini pitcher!
Malarkey5150@reddit
I forgot all about those. We had a few and they were great.
RedStateKitty@reddit
They still have a lifetime warranty and alid you have splits etc (the lids for the oval canisters were suspectible to that) you can send them in and they replace. Last time (about 2yrs back) I sent them to someplace in south Carolina. The item numbers are embossed on the lids and bottoms and I made up a list that I sent with them. New Tupperware doesn't have the same makeup.
mscrybaby-mo@reddit
Since they went bankrupt a year or so ago I was told my lifetime warranty was no longer any good because they weren't making anymore.
DirkBelig@reddit
My best friend at the time's mother was a Tupperware lady. Moved weight like a cartel kingpin.
Emergency_Rope_9954@reddit
I still have the covered butter dish, small creamer with lid and salt and pepper shakers with caps( these are great for travel & picnics). Haven't found comparable items and these are still in good shape after using them every day.
Only-Criticism-283@reddit
Ours were green and yellow. They were my Dad's "travel mug" back in the day. They fit perfectly in the old Cougar's cup holder. You know, probably right by the ashtray ha ha
themodefanatic@reddit
Cleaning out my mom/dad’s garage and I have bins full of Tupperware. Probably about 15 of those coffee mugs. The regular tall cups. Man so much stuff.
skarekroh@reddit
They still use 'em in the county jail. Ask me how I know.
turnipzzzpinrut@reddit
Was gonna say, prototype for lockups and psych facilities
Secret_Purple7282@reddit
Cleaning out my mom's stuff and I found at least 20 of the citrus peelers
Present_Yak_6169@reddit
I can smell it.
maxmom65@reddit
Lol! I came to post the same!!
niwiad9000@reddit
Did we all have the same stuff?
foilrat@reddit
Memory unlocked!
I had forgotten about those. We took them camping with us (as in backpack camping).
SirHairyBear@reddit
OMG !!!! My mom had that in dark brown. She was able to make rice by using that cup only !!!! I wonder if she still has it ?
ridingwithgsdtx@reddit (OP)
Because the shit was made to last and was well designed. Everything had dual purpose or cover or both.
Dramatic_Side_856@reddit
Lead was probably made to last, as well
MaximumJones@reddit
Those are jail cups. Did you just get out?
freerangeXkid@reddit
I enjoyed countless cups of hot cocoa made with real milk in a pot on the stove, and nesquick from the tin, in these cups after a snow day filled with sledding and snowball fights
kperry1270@reddit
We bought an entire set of those about ten years ago! All the weird colors
NvGable@reddit
Yes, super toxic. I wouldn't eat or drink anything from them. I really, really love the colors, though. Fall colors, my favorite.
ElvisFan2001@reddit
We used them for camping. Had that one and green ones too
Jennyreviews1@reddit
Oh yeah, I remember these… I had them in white and red! But I remember them from the 70s and in that color and pea green… 😝
ridingwithgsdtx@reddit (OP)
Find me the pee green now and I will continue to pre spend my retirement to get them

My parents had and so did my grandparents. I really just had an old man cry thinking about my last day with my grandfather. I was 26 and he was close to death. I flew to see him spent a few days with him and my grandmother. My over bearing grandma took a couple hours before I left to do some shopping. As soon as she left I went to the liquor cabinet and grabbed the whiskey. My grandfather's eyes lit up. I grabbed a couple rocks glass to pour us a drink. He waved me off, " if she catches us we will be in trouble". So I get a couple of these mugs and we have our whiskey. I left him a full mug on my way out the door later with candy bars hidden in his chair. 10 days later on my dad's 60th my grandfather passed. Two weeks later I was in a church that was without air-conditioning giving the eulogy to my grandfather I front of 500 plus people. PhD in math, wwII vet, superintendent of a school district, and a better human than I could hope to be.
YellowBreakfast@reddit
Love old Tupperware, we/friends/family didn't have these that I remember.
Apart-Cream-4940@reddit
I forgot about those!
SnuffShock@reddit
Much Kool Aid was drunk from these cups.
Educational_Bid_5315@reddit
Mine was green. We each had a certain color
Temporary_View_3303@reddit
We still have the matching plates to these cups.
SureIllrecordthat@reddit
Wow. Totally! Summer cookouts with my grandparents in their backyard in those same mugs!

WillingArm2463@reddit
I can hear it "thack!" into the one below it.
Ms-Anthrop@reddit
Oh we had those.
