Two arm pumps in one week!

Strangely, both were adults…
I feel bad, I actually missed the first one. Dude was part of a roadside cleanup crew, stood facing me and gave a very discreet pump. I saw but didn’t understand (early morning and VERY discreet) so I kept driving. Saw his face fall a bit as I drove by and finally realized what he meant a mile or two later.
Then today, older guy, easily grandparent age. Im driving by and he gave me the pump, face lit up like a kid when I gave him a couple quick toots.
Weird that kids won’t do it but adults will, but doesn’t matter, I’ll honk for anyone lol

I got my first one ever the other week. 70 West was closed going into KC so I took the side roads, a girl of 12 or so heard me coming, spun around and pumped her arm. I gave a little toot toot and she quite literally jumped for joy.
Forget making my day, that made the next couple days too.

I got a family this morning. Stopped at a light and look over. Could barely see the kids in the 2nd and 3rd row of an SUV pumping like mad. Gave them a toot and they cheered. Started to pull away and they did it again so I obliged. Saw mom in the front seat as I passed, smiling and laughing right along with them.
Today is a good day!

Really? For some reason I thought air horns were mandatory, that’s odd.

Had a kid in the back seat give the arm pump. Mom sleeping in the front passenger seat.
Out of the seven dwarfs…. she definitely wasn’t Happy 😆

I'm a mail carrier, and I ask for them all the time! It's very rare that they actually do it though. It absolutely makes my day when I get a honk

I gave an arm pump today on my walk, but no luck. Im in my 30s and wonder if they think its weird. Not a trucker myself, but I'll try an arm pump when im out walking cause y'all are pretty cool.

Problem i usually have is people try to do it in places I cant let er rip ( residential areas/ school zones ) I also deliver early in the mornings air horn at 7am might be rough.

It’s unusual if it’s an adult but not weird. I say go for it. It makes our day.

My teenage kids are learning to drive, and when I'm in the passenger seat, I do The Thing every now and again. 😆😆 Volvo horns are startling af even when you expect it.

last week I got three: two from kids and one from a whole-ass road crew. absolutely made my day to see them cheer

I get more adults than kids. Most are elderly out for a walk I'm guessing retired drivers other are in groups on over passes riding bikes or running.
The over pass people scare me. Been stories of rocks being thrown at passing cars so I always make sure they get extra attention.

My son likes to arm pump and I make sure to slow down and wait long enough until the trucker sees him. Sometimes they honk, sometimes they don’t.

Make sure no cops around and make sure you won’t startle anyone.

I got it once from someone on the street. I likely won’t notice a car because I’m not looking in peoples windows. I could have been flashed 100 times and never known.
