Thinking of buying my first project car

I have been wanting a fun car to drive, so I've been thinking of buying an EG or an EK Honda Civic.
I have never worked on cars, but I'm interested in learning. From what I read online a civic seems to be a great first project car. I do live in Northern California and the only issue I've had is I don't know where to find one. I've looked around and I feel like I don't know where to look to buy a EK or EG.
Is an EG/EK Civic a good first project car for a complete beginner? What should I look out for when buying one?

Its a perfect car, but dont be afraid of looking at newer civics with a Kseries.
The EK and EG civics are going up in price while 8th gen civics and similar are cheaper and have just as much potential.

I'll keep that in mind 👍🏾, but I'm a sucker for that 90s aesthetic

Makes total sense. Same reason we see integras over $100,000.

Good ol marketplace - just make sure it runs and no structural rust, so you can drive it while working on it

Bro a civic is the perfect project car for a beginner, simple to work on and lots of parts available. I always find deals on Facebook marketplace. Good luck brother

The more I look into it the more I'm sold 👍🏾

Perfect beginner car.
Find one that has minimal rust, runs good, and hasn’t been modified that much/at all.

Thank you! That's great advice! I'll make sure to do that
