I really love the character Najara i think she was really compelling as a foil to xena and gave a compelling morality dilemma with Gabrielle (until they quickly made her a one not villain in the second episode :/ ) But i always thought it was strange this women based in arabic folk lore was played by a white woken either blonde hair and blue eyes so i thought id try my hand at redesign her for a more fitting look

She looks beautiful, and I like the bold colors in her clothes.
Her second episode was so “ug!” She had so much potential, and I don’t think she was a villain in the first episode. I suppose it depends on your opinion of the Djinn. I saw them as being real. I would have liked it with her realizing that her jealousy was destroying who she was, so she redeems herself, then leaves to open that hospice.

I think she was a little mentally disturbed, but she kinda works as a fictional version of Joan of Arc. I didn't think of her as a villain either.
She was a great foil to Xena. How do we know for sure how many people died at her hand? And how that number compares to the innocents Najara willingly killed herself. If Najara met Xena before she got all crazy, she could've prevented the world from experiencing her wrath. But the implications of her beliefs are never fully realized, instead she's deemed crazy in the next ep.

Xena was such a hypocrite - again! - when it came to Najara. Xena frequently made her own choices about who should live and die and was often judge, jury and executioner. I've never seen Najara as a villain and I believe the Djinn were always real but manipulating her to an extent as well as they were want to do in legend. That's the only way i can rationalise the very poor writing of her in The Convert, that is was the Djinn that had driven her to the edge. Frankly I'm glad we got a superb actress like Kathryn Morris in the role, I can't think of anyone else in that part now.

Kathrynn Maorris was incredible! And Najara was such a great character. I think the writers sort of wrote themselves into a corner, they needed her to be a villain but she never really lied or was wrong about what Xena was doing.

I love Gabrielle sm but I wanted her to stop being so biased towards Xena. Of course she would say she only kills when it's absolutely necessary. But who determines those parameters, anyway?
Xena was looking to leave Gabrielle with her too, and while I think she was jealous, she was also dealing with the looming possibility of her best friend/lover dying at her side. It was convenient for Xena to believe in Najara's goodness until it wasn't. It WAS hypocritical and uncalled for.

Love how you emphasize the gold and blue she would wear. Her weapon of choice looks incredible! And she looks beautiful! Sadly, as revolutionary as XWP was many of the characters looked the same. Only a selected few were POC. I would've loved to have seen Cleopatra (Gina Torres) and Helen of Troy again.
