I'm planning to upgrade from a rtx 2050 laptop to a £1200~ Pc, which would be my first pc i would build myself, but im quite sceptic on potential bottlenecking or it just being an overall trash setup, please feel free to criticise on the build too.

I came out with a list like this with UK prices and only picking products that are available to be bought right away.
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/B8mvW9
The part list is over the budget because I really recommend future proofing RAM and SSD space because of current PC gaming situation (RAM prices are high, games take more space etc.)
For RAM 3200 or 3600 kit with CL16 or CL18 latency respectively.
I regret buying a fast 1TiB NVMe for my own PC. I would recommend 2TiB with even PCIe 3.0 speeds.
RX 9060 XT is amazing for the price you can buy it brand new. You could get a better GPU but depends on your budget really.
Case is up to your preference.
PSU is my favorite and the one I am currently using, extremely quiet, efficient and affordable. Also amazing ratings from PSU critics.
If you have questions or want to know more, I am happy to help!

I'm not quite sure on the fact it's a ddr4 kit, but could you like elaborate as i see no point in going back a generation in ram.
PossuTryffeli@reddit
DDR4 is still extremely relevant nowadays.
FPS difference in gaming is from 2-6% in most cases.
If you want to stay in budget then DDR4 is still amazing and not slow by any means.
If you get DDR5 you will also have to get DDR5 mobo and CPU -> PC price increase
32 GiB of DDR4 will in all cases be better than 16 GiB of DDR5.
If you have any other questions or would like to know more, I can explain this more thoroughly.

what do you think about this hypothetical ddr4 build? https://imgbox.com/xvfaYH8q
PossuTryffeli@reddit
This is a massive improvement.
These are the only things I would like you to know:
You have an ATX case with m-ATX mobo. It will fit but it will look weird. Also I didn't look into the case because case it mostly up to preference. You could invest into the case if you want to.
Good CPU choice.
The mobo is m-ATX and has less ports, worse ethernet port but overall pretty same.
If you want Nvidia then go for it. I am not here to stop you. Just know that the 8 GB of VRAM will not be enough for any new titles with medium settings in a few years.
The RAM is expensive. If you find any cheaper RAM kit with 3200MT/s speed and CL16 rating then just buy the cheaper one.
Cooler is amazing for its price to performance ratio.
If 1 TiB SSD is enough then nothing to worry. And you can always buy more space later.
PSU is a good choice. Here is what the PSU tier list makers said: "Solid electrical performance, let down by poorly tuned protections, mediocre transient response, and a low quality fan."
Just check that those fans fit in the case and you are good to go with the fans.
Also check GPU length and the case's max GPU length. Check the cases cooler clearance and the cooler height.
Any more questions?

Any other mobo or ram recommendations? I'm really trying to get this whole build spot on.
PossuTryffeli@reddit
These are the two motherboards I would recommend for AM4. https://pcpartpicker.com/products/compare/KxFbt6,pLNxFT/
For RAM, get the cheapest kit that has these requirements 3200MT/s speed CL16 latency Or 10 first latency.
And preferably 32GiB
Key-Advertising-9140@reddit (OP)
Btw for mobo, lan is not an option for me, so I need a WiFi board as adaptors haven't done me well before
Key-Advertising-9140@reddit (OP)
and also i'm not exactly all on board when it comes to more recent ovepriced games, specificlaly those with bigger storage space,
PossuTryffeli@reddit
I thought the same when buying that 1 TiB NVMe. It was enough space for me for two years. Now I wish to play more open world and story games.
You can also get a 1 TiB NVMe for your use today and when in need for storage buy another 1 TiB or 2 TiB SSD.
Key-Advertising-9140@reddit (OP)
so kinda just have it in the second slot if i ever need more storage?
btw do you have anything to comment about the 5060ti 8gb, as i was considering purchasing that too.
PossuTryffeli@reddit
Yes. You can buy for example 1 TiB NVMe today and in two years get 2 TiB more and then you will have 3 TiB of space.
As for the 5060 TI 8GB. I would recommend against it compared to the RX 9060 XT
RX 9060 XT has 16GB of VRAM which is two times more than the 5060 TIs 8GB.
But if you really like Nvidia's features or encoding I am not going to defer you away from the 5060 TI.
Performance wise they are about the same but the added VRAM is beneficial for all modern games. You could also run some local AI model on that too!
ElmoTLK@reddit
Seems good, but maybe you're overspending a bit on the motherboard and SSD? You can probably get a slightly lower end 2TB SSD for close to the same price.
Key-Advertising-9140@reddit (OP)
any personal recomendations?
ElmoTLK@reddit
Which country are you from?
Key-Advertising-9140@reddit (OP)
Uk.
ElmoTLK@reddit
Okay.
The B650 motherboards are more than enough for your usecase, and honestly, for everyone except hardcore overclockers. There are some cheaper B850 alternatives as well in the link below: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/products/motherboard/#mt=ddr5&s=41
For more extensive motherboard review I can recommend "Hardware Unboxed" on Youtube.
Nvm about the SSD, yours seems alright. I guess they're really expensive there, a 2 TB costs around 200 pound...
