Office workers - is using Google acceptable when playing wordle/NY times connections?

I work in an office, and as a fun lunch game we communally play wordle/connections. We also play a similar music game called Spotle, and recently a movie game that is similar. Fun lunch break activity. I recently moved to a new office, and when they play the games, they Google questions. For example, today, on the movie game, we got the movie down to "80s Sci fi movie", and they, after a couple of minutes of pondering, they googled "80s Sci movies" and immediately got the answer, after checking the google results. I've noticed they also do the same for Connections - they Google the definition of words. On the music game (spotle), they Google when the artist debuted, which is a HUGE clue when playing the game. For me this is a scandal; an affront to the the sacred rules of bullshit, lunchtime, pass the time games. Am I mad? Am I taking it too seriously? This is disgusting no?
