Who remembers this? “It’ll make your stomach explode if you take these together!”
TrickQuiet9630@reddit
and bubble yum is made with spider eggs to make it soft, the yellow dye in mountain dew lowers your sperm count, and mcdonald's uses earthworms as a filler for their hamburger...
Leading_Swim_7688@reddit
My mom refused to buy me grape bubble yum because of that.
Ok_Industry3016@reddit
I used to love Pop Rocks. Would just give me heartburn now lol.

Calm-Refrigerator463@reddit
Dud don't do it
Own_Celebration5462@reddit
When my kids were teenagers, it was mentos and coke. We actually did the experiment, and sure enough, we got a Coca Cola fountain! But it won’t make your stomach explode.
No_Maintenance_9608@reddit
Yes my stomach exploded, but I got better.
VirtuaFighter6@reddit
Death is certain to follow
captainfishhooks@reddit
I farted a pop rock
Starkville@reddit
Yeah, it killed Mikey from the Life cereal commercial!
Opposite_Ad_1707@reddit
It’s because Mikey don’t like anything
Miss-Asshole@reddit
I had several friends die from this. I tried to pour Coca Cola over the caskets to put some respect on their names and I even said, “this is for my homies” but yet, I got kicked out of the funerals both times.
Jolly_Grocery329@reddit
“My friend died that way - be careful man”
frankdowntown@reddit
It happened to my friend's cousin's barbers niece. True story
nikhewitt@reddit
I heard some kid at another school died on the way to hospital from pop rocks and Doctor P.
r2killawat@reddit
Death sentence! Don't do it!
Flababulous@reddit
SomeAreSomeAreNot@reddit
Nit: I don't think we had classic Coke during the era of the Pop Rocks rumors. It was still just Coke.
BrokenCylon@reddit
You mean…it won’t?
peacefinder@reddit
For that you need mentos
FlipMyWigBaby@reddit
I watched with intense interest when Mythbusters tested this phenonena!
spoilers: a pig died to make this episode. (sort of)
hkusp45css@reddit
Were there people who actually believed this? I heard this shit all through my childhood, but I never met anyone who seriously thought it was true.
ParticularBed6338@reddit
Fizzy Wizz crawled so Pop Rocks could run.
capthazelwoodsflask@reddit

His family found out about the urban legend when friends started to call and offer their condolences.

That's how Mikey from the Life Cereal commercials died! ;)
Quick-Dream-1541@reddit
I remember hearing those types of rumors!
Tired8281@reddit
Plop, plop! Fizz, fizz! Oh! What a relief it is!
Affectionate_Cronut@reddit
Can confirm, stomach exploded and I died.
I'm better now though, thanks.
hdhdhgfyfhfhrb@reddit
The funny thing is how many people knew this kind of fear mongering was false were also convinced millions of kids were eating tide pods and dying!!!
Md693@reddit
Not yet I been waiting
PahzTakesPhotos@reddit
I never tried it because that kid from two towns over died from it after he recovered from shooting out his own eye with a bb gun.
HezFez238@reddit
I knew a kid’s cousin died of that …
KennstduIngo@reddit
It happened to my girlfriend - RIP - but she was from the next town over so you wouldn't have heard of her.
Tim-no@reddit
I heard it was you’re girlfriend’s brothers best friend.
F-Cloud@reddit
I remember in the '70s there was a rumor going around that a kid in a neighboring town died from eating Pop Rocks and drinking Coke.
WilliamTK1974@reddit
Or your cousin's best friend's aunt's daughter was on duty in the ER when they brought him in after his parents found him exploded in the backyard.
PriorButterscotch953@reddit
It’s always the neighboring town.
F-Cloud@reddit
"Some kid over in Shelbyville died doing that!"
Extension-Cress-3803@reddit
I had several friends who exploded while riding their dirt bikes
InstanceSome795@reddit
cool
Edward_the_Dog@reddit
It's true. A cousin from the next town over know a kid who's brother died from Coke + pop rocks. No lie!
WilliamTK1974@reddit
Mentos and Diet Coke are more effective for an exploding stomach, but I miss the Pop Rocks of my childhood that had almost enough popping power to crack teeth.
PriorButterscotch953@reddit
Right?! They actually hurt your mouth
YoryiC@reddit
👆🏻this!
ConsumerofToons@reddit
Yes, I do. I tried this as a school experiment. Needless to say, I'm still intact.
SufficientOpening218@reddit
