Are all of the Beretta 92 options like this? I was looking at some other more expensive models specifically because of the finish, but if it's all just the nice version of rattle canned I'm probably not interested.

The cerakote on my 92xi SAO was baked on so thick I needed a mallet to reciprocate the slide and get it off, then flitz to polish it to the point it felt like a functioning handgun. The trigger got a notch in it during dryfire before I even fired a round, and there's chatter marks on the inside of the slide from the tooling being run too fast.
And it still doesn't shoot as nice as a Shadow 2.

I grabbed one from Kygunco last week. Still waiting on it to ship. They're OOS now though. Been trying to grab one at a decent price for awhile. Eventually gave up and just ordered an M9A4 and of course like two days later the SAO Tactical at a good price got posted here. So now I have an M9A4 Overlanding Bronze and a 92XI SAO Tactical on the way. Annoying parts is all the well priced threaded barrel models that come up seem to be the 15rd or 10rd gimped mag versions.

You can use a Dremel on the inside of the body to remove the limiting dimples. Total pain in the ass on a 10, super easy on a 15.

I'll keep an eye on it. I've bought one thing from them before and they took a week to ship but it also wasn't something serialized/ transfered. I'm willing to give a reasonable amount of time but 2.5 months is excessive. If they take too long I'll cancel or, if necessary, chargeback.

Already done. Bought 4 of the 18rd blem mags from EuroOptic before I even owned a Beretta. Just ordered 4 more and I'm keeping my eyes open for a good price on at least two of the anti-friction Mecgar mags to put +4 baseplates on.

As someone commented above, the tactical version (threaded barrel + suppressor height sights) is going for 650 right now. You can get the $100 rebate and basically spend 550 to get the sights, or just put the 200 beretta bucks from this pistol toward a threaded barrel if you prefer slapping a dot on.

Important note here. You need suppressor height sights for a dot cowitness on this system. Also, the beretta plate is too tall--the dlah mid-mount is the lowest that even gets cowitness with suppressor sights. Normal sights cannot cowitness.

I recommend trying to get the tactical model for $650 or close to it so you can claim the $100 Visa card instead and still be only $50 more than this model BUT you have suppressor height sights.

My Italian made 80x would disagree. It is currently in the queue to be inspected at Beretta USA for a random dead trigger (not uncommon if you Google) that started 600 rounds in. Love the gun.
My American made GTS has been flawless.

Check your mag release when you get it back. My special edition cheetah would completely freeze up when you try to drop the mag after firing, if the release was in the left handed setup. They refused to fix that and gave me a 92XI instead.
Glad they're literally half the value of that cheetah now :/
