Why was Larry’s homework in the Dude’s car?

The Dude gets his car back and just casually finds Larry Sellers’ homework in there… like it’s totally normal

How??

Who put it there??

The car gets stolen, then the cops have it, then he gets it back… and somewhere in that chain a random kid’s homework ends up inside??

Am I missing something or did the Coens just throw that in so Walter could go terrorize a teenager

Because right now the only explanations I’ve got are:

the nihilists were doing homework on the side

Larry is somehow connected to all of this and just doesn’t care

or the Dude is living in such chaos that objects just appear in his car now

It’s such a tiny detail but it’s bothering me way more than it should lol
