Niiiiiiiiice! I just rebuilt my mountaineer. I had a 1st gen before this, and a bii before that!
GuntherThunder@reddit (OP)
Hell yeah! looks super clean!
fasteelyo@reddit
Thanks! Drives really nice so far. I did the bw4406 swap too, which also came out nice. Going to do more soon. What else do you have planned?
GuntherThunder@reddit (OP)
I have a 4 inch lift to still install, and want to replace a lot of driveline components.. u-joints, ball joints, tie rods, bushings etc.. then I need to finish up interior. I have some bucket seats and whole new black carpet kit to Install as well.
fasteelyo@reddit
Ahhh I definitely want to do after market seats also. I converted mine to manual seats from the yard. They cleaned up nice but some suspension seats are still on the list
GuntherThunder@reddit (OP)
Good job cleaning those up, I just put mine in this week
Carbonbuildup@reddit

The Ranger grill mod is dope!
GuntherThunder@reddit (OP)
Thank you, was fairly easy to make, spent about a day on it.

Nice! When this engine finally goes, I want to do a 5.0 swap, would love some extra power
rssin@reddit
4.0 ohv is pretty bulletproof. Good luck trying to kill it.

lol sorry you’re disappointed
GeauxGeauxGadget504@reddit
Most of this is just really solid maintenance and it absolutely deserves to be celebrated
GuntherThunder@reddit (OP)
Even cooler thing is I bought it for 300 bucks, love driving it knowing I don’t have a car payment, and even if something does break chances are I can probably fix it myself for fairly cheap.. lol plus I have a back up shitbox 91 Bronco if this thing is ever down.
CupofFriedGold@reddit
It looks amazing. I've got a '93 Explorer as well.
The paint is shot on mine, which isn't unexpected for a car that sat in the Sacramento sun for a decade and a half.
Is this a rattle can job or did you use a sprayer?
GuntherThunder@reddit (OP)
It’s rattle canned, I sanded it down and did it in my garage.
Entire-Extreme7327@reddit
That is a VERY impressive rattle can job. How many cans?
GuntherThunder@reddit (OP)
Thank you! It’s far from perfect.. Roughly 35 cans but I laid down 2 coats of base and 2 coats of 2k clear
toyguy710@reddit
That turned out amazing. 😀

Nice got a 97 mountaineer
