"It's smart to buy a car with a future!" - DeSoto Airflow advertisement
The shorter, midrange version of the more famous Chrysler Airflow was the DeSoto Airflow, which was sold for the 1934-1936 model years. Sales for both brands' Airflows were low, so Chrysler launched both its own Airstream and a DeSoto Airstream in 1935. These less radical-looking cars outsold the Airflows, which were discontinued. A brown Airflow SE sedan was on display in the streamliner gallery when I visited the Toyota Automobile Museum in Nagakute City (near Nagoya, Japan).

If Sam and Max existed in the 1930s (or rather in the 40s or early 50s as there’s no way they’re affording a new car on a Freelance Policeman’s wages.)

Is that a Tatra in the corner of the picture?
richard7k@reddit (OP)
Yes it is; that’s a Tatra 87.

Toyota’s first car, the AA, was largely styled after this car. Sadly, only one incomplete example of a Toyota AA is known to remain.

they're so rare toyota's own examples of the AA and G1 are replicas, there are however surviving ABs
