Has Manchester changed more than any other UK city? What's next?

I've lived in Manchester most of my life, and it's crazy how much it's changed. I remember being kid in the 00's and asking my mum why the city had so many short buildings. Now it feels like the skyline is growing all the time. I've even seen people saying Manchester could end up with one of the tallest skylines in Europe, being compared to cities like Frankfurt. There's clearly a big boom happening, more development, more people moving in, and house prices rising fast. I've even told my parents not to sell because it feels like the city is only going up. Nowaday's in town I only hear southern voices! Do people see Manchester as the UK's second city now? Is it becoming more of a draw than places like Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Cardiff, or Belfast? And what do you think it'll be like in 10-20 years? Will it keep growing like this or will it plateau?
