Do you put on your pyjamas as soon as you get home from work?

I always do because I can't get comfy on the sofa in work clothes and don't want to get changed twice if I go work -> comfy clothes -> pyjamas. But it's just occured to me it's 18:30 and if anyone rings the doorbell it would be odd that I'm ready for bed.
Just me?
Rough-Perception-332@reddit
Ohh yes 100%! It’s always mismatched pjs or huge baggy t shirts and joggers. And there’s no way I’ll answer the door if the bell rings. Nobody wants to see the state of me when i’m in my comfies 😂
LucyLovesApples@reddit
I put on comfy clothes because I only like my nightwear for bed
Gold-Creme-9597@reddit
Correct answer, come home, tracksuit, bed time, PJs. Can not imagine wearing PJs that early, like are you cooking in them?! This feels odd to me. I do also have a drafty house so wouldn’t be warm enough.
Moth-Apricots@reddit
This!
Tonybham01@reddit
I don’t have pyjamas.
split-tennisball@reddit
I sleep naked so no. I just put in comfy clothes.
Cptnemouk@reddit
Don't know how people sleep naked. I can't do with my saggy nuts slapping my leg every time I turn over. Also I can't go a night without one of my kids climbing into my bed throughout the night 😂
No_Height_2408@reddit
I can't sleep naked because age 10 someone said to me they sleep in pants in case there is a house fire and I never forgot it.
Tay74@reddit
I have a cheat code that involves not having any nuts. Though I do still sleep in underwear
Weary-Carob3896@reddit
I have a cheat code that stops his kids climbing in to my bed at night..
No, I mean a court order
SuspishSesh@reddit
Pingu-was-a-penguin@reddit
I sleep naked because I hate the feeling of my nuts not being free. Like they're stuffed into boxers all day long so I'm letting those guys be free for the night.
No-Sympathy-4103@reddit
This made me laugh so much 😂
split-tennisball@reddit
Most people's nuts aren't like a couple snooker balls in a football sock so don't slap that much.
Choice_Midnight1708@reddit
I put my pyjamas on, and then take them off before getting into bed. Pyjamas are comfy around the house clothes for me, not for sleeping in.
No-Sympathy-4103@reddit
Same here, shower, pjs, naked bed time 🥱
Friendly_Mango_4327@reddit
this is so real
scoschooo@reddit
shower, pjs, get naked, stand in the window and stare at my neighbor for a while, then naked bed time
Used-Flamingo-4320@reddit
Same. Cant imagine going to bed without showering first. It’s the best.
himmygal@reddit
Same. Off go the work clothes. Sweats or a short silk robe. Shower. Towel off. Bed naked. Sleep 😴 💤 🛏
TheEnglishNorwegian@reddit
I just stick some joggers on, or walk around in my boxers most of the time. pyjamas just feel like some weird bedtime clothes that I have zero interest in, as like the above poster I sleep naked.
ab00@reddit
This.
split-tennisball@reddit
I wouldn't call a hoody and joggers pyjamas
bix2020@reddit
But loose and relaxed.
bix2020@reddit
I have several caftans which are so pretty and comfy and ok to answer the door wearing.
fbruk@reddit
Yeah same. I have them on now.
iambeherit@reddit
This is what I do. Pj's and tshirt as soon as I get in then nekkit for bed.
CtrlShiftAaron@reddit
I don’t know how people can sleep in clothes
I can only wear my birthday suit to bed
GrossFatSlob@reddit
Women have to wear pants to bed because gunk comes out of their vagina.
CtrlShiftAaron@reddit
Calling mysogony because I don’t accept your ridiculous claim that women leak gunk out their genitals.. wow 😂😂
Look, you might well be a gross fa slob, but my wife is hygienic as I suspect most women are.
If you have an issue where you leak gunk out of your orifices then go see a doctor. No shame in that but you are the exception not the rule
CtrlShiftAaron@reddit
That comment tells me you have never seen a vagina in person
GrossFatSlob@reddit
I have a vagina lol.
CtrlShiftAaron@reddit
Yeah my wife doesn’t leak gunk when she sleeps.
Yes some vagina discharge is normal but it certainly doesn’t happen constantly or if you sleep naked you don’t wake up in a pool of gunk.
My wife sleeps naked and our sheets stay clean
When it’s her time of the month, sure but other than that no
You’re making out like your leaking slime like a tap. That’s what I’m referring to. Your statement that women can’t sleep naked due to discharge is false
GrossFatSlob@reddit
Tell her to put her clothes on. Suprised you have a wife given your misogyny. Telling women they don't have vaginas just because you don't understand basic biology. Bet she is so dry down there because she has to look at you.
CtrlShiftAaron@reddit
Oh no.. I meant why I said. Username checks out. Maybe you can’t find yours and that’s why it stinks.
That’s not normal
GrossFatSlob@reddit
It doesn't stink. Vagina discharge is natural and happens to all women. Sorry to break it to you hun.
TheEnglishNorwegian@reddit
Not all women, most of my girlfriends and my now wife have always slept naked with me unless on their period.
Phil_O_Sophiclee@reddit

South-Visual3803@reddit
I can sleep topless but I can’t stand my legs touching & idk, I don’t want to wash my bedding more than twice a week 😂
MD564@reddit
Nah not all women. I gotta sleep naked so my body can regulate itself better, include that area which is like an oven sometimes. Never had an issue with gunk.
South-Visual3803@reddit
Do you wash your bedding daily?
ThinkIshatmyself@reddit
Yes. Naked gang rise!
grunt56@reddit
Not like that!
BrexitVoter@reddit
Yeah exactly. Weird the amount of people who are wearing pyjamas in right now. What type of people they must be.
Brilliant name btw. Did you hear about the shadow that was knocking people off their bikes?
Belle_TainSummer@reddit
Damn right! Unless I have something else planned, it is straight into the comfy pyjamas and a glass of something relaxing. If someone rings my doorbell, I ain't answering.
PM-me-your-knees-pls@reddit
A ringing doorbell is never good news
Prior_Suit_1848@reddit
Like the landline ringing after 9 p.m!
MindHead78@reddit
"Oh god, who's died?"
Current_Fly9337@reddit
I think this when any family member rings me. I have this brief second of composing myself before I answer.
Impressive_Jaguar_70@reddit
What's a landline
dread1961@reddit
What are pyjamas? I'm 65 and own neither a landline or pyjamas.

Please don't make me mad this Monday evening. I am 34 with aching knees, and a college kid called me aunty this morning. Im on the edge.
Picklepicklezz@reddit
Try being over 60! that is funny though sorry!
HannahMayberry@reddit
I AM 60! 🤪
Picklepicklezz@reddit
loll sorry
HannahMayberry@reddit
Why?
SuspishSesh@reddit
35 and spiralling with you after that reply 😂👍🏻

HannahMayberry@reddit
Right. If I’m not expecting anybody, I ain’t gonna answer. I’ll look, but no.
Huge-Astronomer825@reddit
As a postie who regularly works past most people’s finishing times if you don’t answer the door I’m chucking your parcel the ‘safe place’ aka I’m gunna shove it behind the bin
TheDawiWhisperer@reddit
as long as you don't shove it in the bin like the geniuses that deliver my post do
Huge-Astronomer825@reddit
If it’s pissing down I might put it in the recycling bin but I’ll leave a red card at least and let you know lol
Weary-Carob3896@reddit
That's fine, I tend to stick your reasonable pay requests and stolen birthday cards up my arse
Pyjama365@reddit
I'm always answering, and my posties are always very professional about me being in my late 30s in PJs covered in cartoon dogs.
Huge-Astronomer825@reddit
In stealing ‘professionally nonchalant’
MattsRedditAccount@reddit
yeah I was with this comment until that part, then okay it's just full reddit stereotype of le introvert who never answers the door even if it's something important haha
Huge-Astronomer825@reddit
Yeah I wasn’t prepared for the amount of people who just ignore me when I’m at their door, even tho they can either see me through the ring doorbell/window. I’m convinced that if it’s pissing down rain some people take extra long to answer out of spite
MattsRedditAccount@reddit
Crazy lol, I can't imagine just flat-out not answering...I really don't fancy having to drive to the depot if it needs signing for nor do I want to bother my neighbours. Sorry that it's so common from what it sounds like
Belle_TainSummer@reddit
No you are not. You are gonna leave it on the porch and I'll get it in the morning, same as always. That ain't a new one to me.
Huge-Astronomer825@reddit
If your porch is external and in view of the road I’m not leaving it there lol
Belle_TainSummer@reddit
Thank goodness my postie isn't so discriminating.
Huge-Astronomer825@reddit
I think maybe your postie doesn’t care about his job <\3
Belle_TainSummer@reddit
Well their apathy is playing right into my lifestyle then.
Alternative-Sea-6238@reddit
We had someone once put our parcel in what they regarded as the safe place. Not the bench locker. No no, inside the garden waste bin. Which was full of grass cuttings. So our microwave was a little soggy when we found it.
Huge-Astronomer825@reddit
I’m sure he used all 5 of his brain cells though
Strange_Ad854@reddit
Especially at this time of year. My ring went off at around 6pm today so I remained on my sofa, in my pjs and housecoat, watching a wee man wandering around the hallway before stuffing some bs canvassing leaflet though my door.
MoonShineWashingLine@reddit
Housecoat?
ScallyGirl@reddit
Dressing gown.
GinBitch@reddit
My doorbell is turned off. No one ringing if there's no sound.
WISJG@reddit
No because I would drop my dinner down them and I don't want to sleep in clothes with food on them.
Legitimate_Spray_127@reddit
I come home, shower and then immediately get into pyjamas. Wash the day away and get comfy!
zwifter11@reddit
Normal clothes are not uncomfortable.
People who wear pyjamas outside to go to the shops are slobs.
littlebagofcrazy@reddit
Yes, I have big slobbery dogs and I don’t want them ruining my work clothes.
The only time I don’t is on a weekend when I’m in my casual clothes and I don’t mind them getting dirty etc.
queefybean@reddit
Ok so I used to, but my boyfriend brought it up that it was slobby which to be honest is fair, so now I get into joggers or leggings
SerendipitousCrow@reddit (OP)
Nah fuck that. If you can't be slobby in your own home then it's not home
RebeccaCheeseburger@reddit
I’m glad you upgraded to joggers or leggings, not relaxing at home glammed up.
Wanita_1972@reddit
I took early retirement, mid fifties. As soon as OH gets home from work he puts his “per-jee-jays” on and I do likewise even though I haven’t been at work 😂 it’s so comfy and freeing! Sod anyone who comes to the door, they’ll have to see me in my checky pyjama bottoms!
RebeccaCheeseburger@reddit
Oh my god I call them that, well said, pah jay jays, and I don’t know where it’s come from, but it’s stuck for 15 or so years between me and my mates. How funny.
nonoanddefinitelyno@reddit
That shit don't fly with a dog.
GrandAsOwt@reddit
I won’t get another dog after the current one dies. I’ll miss him terribly but I’m also looking forward to thinking, “I’m tired” and going to brush my teeth then get into bed instead of reaching for my coat to go out into horizontal sleet to empty the dog. I’m getting too old for this game. I shall add putting my pyjamas on at 6.30 to the things to look forward to.
oceanicitl@reddit
Get a cat. They can take themselves to the loo
GrandAsOwt@reddit
She had to be put to sleep last week. She was an old lady.
hampets@reddit
I hate that I upvoted this.
I'm so very sorry for the loss of your old man/lady and for making light of your walkies.
hampets@reddit
< empty the dog 🤣
abyssal-isopod86@reddit
It does.
I have 5 dogs, they know the difference between my outside clothes and my inside clothes.
BertieBus@reddit
Ours goes mental when we put socks on. He knows is walkies.
porcupineporridge@reddit
My nervous dog is highly adept at predicting plans based on footwear. Slippers means chilling, sliders mean garden and shoes mean out out.
abyssal-isopod86@reddit
Yep!
Mine know the difference between my slippers, my Crocs, my wellies, my hiking shoes and mushing shoes.
BertieBus@reddit
Ours is the same. Sliders it's on the green for catch. Muddy boots and we're going out out. Trainers means boring walk.
ApprehensiveRead4037@reddit
Lol same,my boy knows its over when my joggers are on
Dutch_Slim@reddit
It’s ok in winter when you can’t tell my black pj bottoms apart from a pair of joggers, but I’m not taking him out in my shorty pjs in July!
ohwhatisfreeasaname@reddit
The shop below me is open till 2am, they are accustomed to Mario & Marvel pj bottoms
Bob_Fred_88@reddit
To be fair I usually get back, take the dogs out while I’m still dressed, then get into my pyjamas immediately after lol
NorseRider420@reddit
Pyjamas are my comfy clothes. I sleep naked!
SuspishSesh@reddit
If I'm not in my oodie, Winnie the poohing within half an hour, you know someone really annoyed me at work 😂 need those shows still ties tight for the word salad to flow.
Lonely-Key36@reddit
I work from home so sometimes I don't even take off the pyajamas
peanut_butter_xox@reddit
How do you even feel awake? I work from home and have to shower and get dressed every morning I just feel gross and tired otherwise
Lonely-Key36@reddit
By drinking loads and loads of coffee! This is not a regular occurrence but sometimes you just have those days where you don't feel like getting ready, especially when the weather is all gloomy. And if there are no meetings no one will know 🤷🏻♀️ Most of the days I do take a shower right after breakfast though.
peanut_butter_xox@reddit
Hahaha fair I’m in usually back to back meetings with my camera on - so that’s very fair in your case.
Superb-Plant-5792@reddit
I got home at 3pm today. Straight in the shower & in my pjs since. It’s the only way 😆 pjs for me are for lounging I don’t sleep in them.
Puzzleheaded_Drink76@reddit
Not unless I have a reason to have a second shower, like going to the gym. I sit on my sofa in the same jeans I spent all day in.
Cavernwight@reddit
Every single day!! Given my shifts, it's even more necessary.
Reality_slowed@reddit
I don’t which means I’m probably in the minority of people here based on what I’ve read. I work in an office but it’s casual dress so no shirt/tie etc. I wear clothes that I’m comfortable in at work. ( not loungewear or pj’s obvs)
eidolon_eidolon@reddit
Absolutely not.
AirlineSevere7456@reddit
I wear soft tracky bottoms and a t-shirt yes
Mairi13@reddit
Have had mine on since I got home at 17.15 🤷♀️ comfort matters more than what anyone else thinks!
oceanicitl@reddit
If I'm at the office mine go on about that time too lol
tadmeister69@reddit
I work from home so sometimes if I don't have any video calls I just spend the day in them! :D
oceanicitl@reddit
Our calls are no video so I can join team calls from bed in my PJs after putting them back on after sleeping naked lol
OMGItsCheezWTF@reddit
During the pandemic I presented a new architecture design to a review board that included the CTO of our company and a bunch of senior engineers from across the business.
Once I was done being grilled and had sign off I walked out of my home office and told my wife it was all accepted and she replied "Were they aware that you were doing that presentation wearing ninja turtles pyjama trousers"?
No, no they were not.

2pm lunchtime shower out of one set and into another, blast through a couple more hours and done.
IcyPuffin@reddit
No. If i need to change from workclothes then i change into clothes.
I cant stand pottering about the house in my pjs unless im ill.
Sweet_Finger_4756@reddit
I wfh so pyjamas are my attire
Connect_Remote2890h@reddit
soon as im back from anywhere, my pyjamas are put on!!! 😊❤️
Extreme-Banana-9@reddit
Yeah, shower then comfies on
Anaptyso@reddit
I'm definitely in a minority here, but I don't usually get changed at all when I finish work. I get dressed in the morning (usually jeans, t-shirt, jumper etc), and wear the same clothes until I go to bed, unless I've done something to get them dirty.
My wife asks me why I don't want to wear comfortable clothes in the evening, but to me they are comfortable.
Anxious_Jeweler9416@reddit
I'm the same. I wear comfy clothes at work anyway (jeans and a flannel shirt most often) so changing them seems overkill. And I don't have a messy job so not really worried about that side of things
Worldly_Wafer_6635@reddit
Yeah this is my camp.
I need at least the first hour of getting home to stare into the abyss. CBA getting changed.
Also im a use as few dishes and clothes as possible. I don't wanna have to wash that stuff up.
shortandfelly@reddit
Same. Work at a university, usually wear jeans, ride home, walk the dog, go for a run or a whole load of other things in the evening.
Yolo_Swagginson@reddit
I'm the same, I work in an office but jeans and t-shirts are acceptable so that's what I wear.
SerendipitousCrow@reddit (OP)
That's fair. I wonder if most of the people here are office types wearing smart clothes for work.
I wear a uniform but it's just black trousers and a polo so not that uncomfortable but I do like to change once I'm home
peanut_butter_xox@reddit
I work at home and do the same as you! I’m in leggings or jeans but I just want to be comfy - plus it helps with the separation I find. That’s my excuse and I am sticking to it!!
EatingCoooolo@reddit
My 4 year old does. I don’t wear pyjamas.
veracious_gloop@reddit
I work from home so I'm usually still wearing them
nitnitnotnot@reddit
If I'm home at 3pm, I'll take my dog for a walk and them Bam! Pyjamas are on.
If I'm home at 11pm, nope. I just strip off and crawl into bed. (Dog walked before work).
Ok_Cow_3431@reddit
I don't wear pyjamas.
I also don't have specific 'work clothes' - no uniform/work wear. But I do wear a plaid shirt and jeans so I'll often change down to just a tshirt and maybe put my comfy joggers on shortly after getting home.
Maleficent-Fun-6744@reddit
I wear my PJs as much as physically possible 🥰
CaveJohnson82@reddit
Depends what I've been wearing. I was wearing jeans yesterday, then changed into gym leggings which are a touch too tight - so yes.
But when I've just got on joggers and a t-shirt, unless it's white because I'm a filth magnet, then no.
Varabela@reddit
What about some sweat pats and a hoody? Same outcome
DustInTheMachine@reddit
I have out of house / work clothes, "at home" clothes and then pj's.
I get changed into my "at home" clothes the minute I get home. They consist of slouchy cardi, baggy joggers with elasticated waist band and most importantly no bra!
I cook and clean in these clothes so prefer to shower before bed and put on fresh pj's.
marsman@reddit
No, I can't think of a day where I haven't had a fair amount to do after getting back from work (or before going to work if its a late start), I tend to be in normal casual clothing except when I'm about to go to bed, or have just woken up, and in work clothes the rest of the time.
ineedathrowaway694@reddit
I work in scrubs (so basically pyjamas) and you can bet everything in your wallet the SECOND I get in from a nightshift I’ll have my PJs on. I even leave them folded on the arm of the sofa ready, my dressing gown lives on the back of the living room door 😂😂
shootglass77@reddit
work clothes>comfy clothes>bed (no pyjamas) simple 😂
TheDawiWhisperer@reddit
yes.
when i was a teenager and in my early 20s i'd spend the day fully dressed but now i very rarely do...in the house i spend the day in PJs and as soon as i get in i'll changed back into them
freakybo0o@reddit
Of course! As soon as I get home I take off my shoes and outside clothes, wash my hands, put on my house clothes/PJs and wash my face.
Jazzlike_Simple_5576@reddit
Maybe not pj's, but leggings/joggers and a tshirt, as soon as I get in. I wear a uniform, so straight into comfy outfit
GodOfThunder888@reddit
I also differentiate between "home clothes" (comfy clothes) and going out clothes. You bet the jeans come off as soon as I am home
hocfutuis@reddit
Yeah, I put on comfy clothes once the work stuff comes off, because I still have to take the dog out, and I'd feel silly doing that in my PJs.
SerendipitousCrow@reddit (OP)
This is it. I wear a uniform so getting changed is also a mental transition
TipsyMagpie@reddit
PJs for me - I have 6 cats so otherwise everything would be covered in cat hair. Plus as you say, it’s a transition. The best time of my day.
DontStartNothin@reddit
6 cats here also and same. Immediate PJ’s not a lint roller in the world fixing that
TipsyMagpie@reddit
Yep - we have a calico, three torties and two long haired black cats, so between them they have white, beige, ginger and black hair. Something to show up on every outfit!
DontStartNothin@reddit
Maine Coons. One ginger one white one silver and white one cream and white a blue and a tabby. All of the colours. It’s the white ones that do it all fine floaty stock to absolutely every damn thing hairs.

Yes always. If I’m working from home I wear jammies all day - I do change then & wash but don’t put on outside clothes at all
mand71@reddit
I'm not working at the moment so I'm in pyjamas nearly all the time, apart from going shopping or outside for a walk. Saves loads on laundry!
DaikonContent9554@reddit
No, once I was over the age of around 12 I didn't think it was an ordeal to get changed twice in one evening.
Various_Extreme_8773@reddit
Retired now but hell yes.

HannahMayberry@reddit
Yep. I have a house dress from Woman Within I put on. 3X. So comfortable. Several colors.
VegemiteVibes24@reddit
Somehow I can wear my jeans or work clothes all day and feel absolutely fine. But the second I get home they're suddenly the most uncomfortable thing I could possibly wear and I have to get changed immediately.
Direct_Impress_6277@reddit
The trick is lounge wear or baggy t-shirt dresses that work as nightwear, with a slouchy hoody or jumper. So long as you avoid teddy bear, hearts or Disney- type patterns on your pjs, no one will ever know.
Picklepicklezz@reddit
Yes not full pjs but pjs and a hoody or t shirt
LadyInAllPower@reddit
If I’ve been out all day, then yes, immediately. Gets me feeling more relaxed. I’ll take food deliveries in nightwear happily 😂 (sufficiently modest or with a dressing gown!)
WhatYouLeaveBehind@reddit
I work from home. I'm always in PJs.
jemimapuddle13@reddit
Yes, often. Put on pyjamas, then over-pyjamas (thicker pyjamas or trackies) so I keep warm :-)
doegrey@reddit
No, but only cause I don’t have PJs. I have comfy wear which I also happen to sleep in.
I have pets so good clothes come off straight away, comfy wear goes on and good clothes stay fur free.
(Also happens that fur doesn’t seem to stick to my comfy wear as much - so win win!!)
JordanCath@reddit
Straight into pyjama trousers, but always have a t-shirt on, whether its pj t shirt or one of my outdoor ones
NinjahDuk@reddit
Depends on the time. Most days yes because it's cozy and I'm odd to bed in 3 or 4 hours anyway.
Other-Rooster-5585@reddit
Less drama, more pyjama
SnooozeFezt@reddit
Yes. Because I work 12hr night shifts and I am going STRAIGHT to sleep once I get home!!
Daft-Count@reddit
Haven't had pyjamas since I was 12 years old
TheEnglishNorwegian@reddit
What pyjamas? I don't think I've ever owned any, the idea of putting on clothes to sleep in just feels hot and sounds uncomfortable to me.
letscrash@reddit
Yep! As soon as I know i won't be leaving the house anymore (by early evening), it's jammie time.
HonkersTim@reddit
No of course not, I’m an adult.
Weary-Carob3896@reddit
Goddam right I do! I'd wear anyones 'comfy clothes' within minutes.
Yikes44@reddit
I never wear PJ's until I go to bed in case someone comes round to the house. But I will swap my work clothes or jeans for some comfy leggings.
T1nyChem1cal@reddit
No, I don't. I work in the surgical suite at a vets, so I'm wearing scrubs all day. I typically wear comfy clothes to and from work, so I just stay in them when I get home, and then get into pjs when getting ready for bed.
korg64@reddit
What time is it?
It's Pajama time.
Cynrae@reddit
Always. My door's barely closed behind me before I'm in PJs. I do sometimes wonder what food delivery guys must think of me when I answer the door in PJs at 6pm, but I'm past the point of caring these days.
Southernbeekeeper@reddit
No, I don't trust any adult who wears pyjamas. I came home from work today and put a pair of shorts and a t shirt on. I then went back out. If I'm at home I just wear my gym stuff.
Cockapoo-mum@reddit
Yes - work clothes off, shower, jammies. Same applies when wfh - feels more relaxed for the evening
Caffeine_Bobombed88@reddit
I have “comfy” clothes I put on if I’m just hanging around at home but my PJs are strictly for bedtime. I don’t feel right if I’m just wallowing around in them all day. That said, what you wear in your own home is your business - but I cannot fucking stand that we’ve began to normalise walking the dog or doing your weekly shopping in pyjamas.
129sapphires@reddit

darkerthanmysoul@reddit
I wear scrubs for work so yes it’s 10000000% necessary.

Not pyjamas, but usually just sweatpants or leggings, or shorts if it’s hot out, and a t-shirt.
DisloyalMouse@reddit
Girl same! I work from home a lot so I wear leggings most days now lol.
Ecstatic-Bug-6119@reddit
Who cares. It’s your home, so wear what you like. 😊 My neighbour always answered the door in his dressing gown.
Turbulent-Quality-29@reddit
I wear chinos and t-shirts generally so in that case no I don't bother.
I sleep in boxers. If I'm not leaving the house on any day I'll wear pyjamas or lounge wear as I think the trendy term is these days. It'll be a t-shirt that's too old/worn to wear out and bottoms which are thinner than jogging bottoms.
ryrypot@reddit
This is kind of where i think the UK is kind of a strange country. I understand loads of us Brits do this (not me), but it represents a kind of need for solitude where we submit to the idea of evenings as being alone home time.
Zoe_Vokes@reddit
Pyjamas straight on after I’ve finished for the day and I am not going out again.
Pyjama365@reddit
I'll ask my username... Yes. Always. Every day.
Sparky1498@reddit
Definitely not just you lol - whilst wfh mostly so now work attire is comfy sweat pants and sweater most of time - when I was working 9-7.30 in the office unless I had a pre-arranged night out (condensed shift so thur fri sat Mon) you better believe unless you caught me on way home for a last minute proposal- I would be indoors bra off and pjs on by 8:30 and nothing but an emergency would mess with that lol
Now wfh - same rules still apply PJs maybe not so much but still need an off the cuff suggestion for a night out to come within an hour of log off otherwise the PJs are beckoning and can’t be arsed
Beechild4@reddit
House clothes!!
Because outside is so gross!!
Now I'm comfy and not siting with outside germs ☺️
CalmZombie23@reddit
Yup, I have a little problem with pyjamas, if I'm going into Primark or Tesco when there's 25% off, I will absolutely buy more, I don't need any more, but if I'm home, you can bet your ass I'm in pyjamas lol
shortandfelly@reddit
Nope. I wear comfy clothes at work anyway and usually ride in. I get home, walk the dog, on Tuesday I have a music lesson so don't get home until gone 8pm. In summer, I do a lot of evening fell races or I'll go out for a run. I don't tend to put PJs on until just before bed. I might put my pj bottoms on at about 9pm if I'm in but that's it.
E.g. I've been to an evening fell race tonight, I'm about to take the dog out for a quick walk, then I'll have a shower and get into my PJs, but it'll also be near 10pm by then anyway...
ApprehensiveRead4037@reddit
Never worn PHs being a grown man,but I have to put jogger bottoms on ASAP at home,at that point I'm probably not going out again
bopeepsheep@reddit
I work in comfy clothes (and rarely wear pyjamas) so no. But I totally would if I had to wear a suit or similar.
Snow_Crane21@reddit
Always, I have to work in a shirt and trousers and I'm not too fond of it. They also feel weird to sit around in while at home.
Dependent_Ad7491@reddit
Absolutely i wanna be comfy sitting on the couch
plan-stan28@reddit
When someone visits my home that isn't family (which is very very rare) I have to sit on my own couch in a pair of jeans and it sickens me to the core.
Pyjamas or lounge wear or naked but never outside clothes indoors.
CrowApprehensive204@reddit
I do in the winter but I've got more energy when it's light nights so tonight I've been out for a walk and now I'm knackered and in my jammies and ready for bed
BlueLinnet@reddit
Definitely. Before even washing my hands because I can't wait to set my body free!
Automatic_Test6470@reddit
I always wear my pyjamas unless I’m leaving the house
Vequihellin@reddit
No. I have 'lounge clothes' I put on. Soft leggings, a comfy sweatshirt dress or oodie, and some thick socks if it's cold (I prefer no socks though). I don't wear pyjamas as the fabric flapping around my legs aggravates me, and I'm not wandering around the house in my nightie.
NA-31@reddit
Hell yeh for girls bra off too ahhh got to set them boobies free 😂
Curious-Ad5008@reddit
I have a electric blanket in my bed so go from warm comfy clothes to a toasty pj set which in the winter is utter bliss! You can get pjs which are effectively loungewear so yeah be as comfy as you like
Chiccheshirechick@reddit
Absolutely!
Moth-Apricots@reddit
Nope, I have home comfy clothes which are usually sweatpants and a regular long sleeved top, I always chill in these. I put on my pajamas the millisecond before I climb into bed, I think of them as “bed only” essentially, I like keeping my bed clean for a good sleep! I also shower in the evenings before sleep. 😴
RedPandaCommander24@reddit
Only if I'm not cooking that night, because I don't want food smells on my pjs... Otherwise it's house clothes
pintofendlesssummer@reddit
I'm wearing a dressing gown anytime of the day while home, my house is always cold and sod it if anyone knocks on the door.
chloelikeschilli@reddit
Walk in the door, upstairs PJ’s are straight on

Absolutely 👍
mosho84@reddit
What kind of work clothes do you wear? I don't bother changing until it's actually bed time
Rocky-bar@reddit
Pyjamas after work, this is quite bizarre, do you go out visiting in them? Take the bins out? go to the pub, go shopping?
SerendipitousCrow@reddit (OP)
It's when I get home with the caveat that I know I'm not going out again. And yeah I'll cook and put the bins out in them
drunkenangel_99@reddit
I’m with you, comfy clothes then pjs. Main reason is in case I need to run out to the shops for anything, other reason is because I smoke and don’t want to take my pjs outside.
The_Right_Mistake@reddit
Comfy clothes within thirty seconds of getting through the door. Sometimes I surprise myself with how quick I can do it. There was a switch I had in my brain, probably around covid times, of all the places we sit when outside, public transport etc… and how gross those seats are. I don’t want that filth on a sofa where I lay my head
Questjon@reddit
I get in the door, close the curtains, take off everything except my pants and relax. I hate my work clothes.
Fantastic-Foot5482@reddit
No, I'm an adult and not aged 5

greatfullgreen@reddit
I actually put on lounge clothes. Then pijamas just for bed. So 3 sets but it makes such a difference especially when I need to cook i dont want to be in PJs
mdmnl@reddit
As soon as I'm done with out-of-the-house activities, yes, into jammies.
Don't work down a mine or in an infectious disease lab, but don't really want to lounge about in work gear. Likewise, don't want work clothes getting crushed and bunched while I sit on my arse.
Prepoc-9@reddit
I do work in an infectious disease lab, and after reading this post, I really think I should change clothes when I get home.
mdmnl@reddit
I'm going one step further and saying "do it before taking two trains and a bus home"...

And I put them on as soon as I’m home unless I know I need to go out again or have people coming over.

LeFuzzyOtter@reddit
Yes, as someone who works the early shift. It's a must! Unless I need to go for a run or go to the gym 😂

I have a shower as soon as I get home from work and straight into pyjamas, though in the shop they’re marketed as “loungewear”.
That’s all well and good apart from last night when there was a car crash outside just after 7 and I had to go out there in my pyjamas, calling the police and chatting to my neighbours!

Hell no. But I know you're not alone. I like to wear causal clothes most of the day
blackcurrantcat@reddit
No. Work clothes, comfy scruffs, pjs strictly at bedtime. I don’t think it’s sleep or mentally healthy to treat pjs like clothes you’d wear in the house. And, you’ve got to get undressed and dressed twice anyway because you’re still wearing underwear before you get into bed.
JohnLennonsNotDead@reddit
No, I take your mums off
AutumnBlossomGal@reddit
I sleep in very thin hoodies, a tank and thin yoga pants. Technically I could wear these outside to grab mail or get something out of tea car, etc. and it would just look like lounge clorhes, I guess. Best of both worlds.

No, as soon as I get home from work, I make a coffee in a flask and go for a walk for a few hours. Then, when the walk is done, I put on my house clothes, sweatpants, and one of the few shirts I only wear at home.
I have a set of clothes for each day of the week I'm at work, and I have house clothes I only wear at home, which are a few pairs of sweatpants and a few shirts.
I don't own PJs or a robe or shorts, it's just sweatpants and a shirt around the house for me instead of PJs.

Kip in boxers or similar for the rest of the year.👍🏻
emojess3105@reddit

Comfy clothes or pjs whatever is there as I will usually have to change into another pair of pjs because whatever my toddler has eaten will be splashed over me.
Marvel--Jesus@reddit
No. I live in a shit area with shit neighbours. I might need to go outside if things kick off.

Yes I do! And my ex hated it 😂 the only time I don't is probably in the summer but even then it is loungewear shorts and a t-shirt.
I hate being in work clothes or even jeans when I'm lounging at home

Oh yes. Pyjamas are the best clothing!

No, dont wear pjs. I switch to comfy clothes like joggers.
Smeeble09@reddit

I change out of my "outdoor" clothes when I come in, assuming I'm not going out again that day. But although I put on one of my many sets of PJs, they're probably more like loungewear because I don't sleep in them. I wear a nightie to bed!
ddmf@reddit
Yeah, don't like sitting around the house in my outdoor clothes - get in, get changed, get comfy.

znv142@reddit
an old t-shirt or just underwear
peanut_butter_xox@reddit

Unless its been a particularly messy/sweaty day at work I just wear what ive been wearing till I go to bed and sleep in boxers. ButterflyMany5848@reddit
I’m the same! As soon as I get home and I’m not out again, the pjs come on :)

Oh yes… but then my PJs are passing as lounge wear as they don’t have “sleepy bunnies” or “fairies & hearts” on them …

ThrowawayParsnip5@reddit
Not my pjs, but comfy clothes - oversized jogging bottoms, soft bra, oversized sweater.
I used to changes as soon as I got in the door, but I realised once I did that I was immediately in lazy mode and wouldn't get anything done. Would rely on ready made meals because I couldn't be even be arsed cooking. So recently I've started going straight into the kitchen once in the door to start chopping/prepping whatever I'll need for the night's dinner. I even leave my trainers on while doing this (they've just been worn in an office all day and then my car, so fairly clean) as it just stops me from feeling like it's relax time just yet. But once I've finished whatever prep is needed - usually only takes 15/20 mins - I'll swap into my comfies. Will change into PJs as I'm going to bed later.

I sleep naked, so my pjs are my comfy lounging at home clothes. Just underwear once I'm home and ready to relax
SerendipitousCrow@reddit (OP)
Do you not get cold sat about in your pants?
srm79@reddit
No, have hygge throws, cussions and things, plus it's a naturally warm house
Visual-Leadership446@reddit
I work from home and don’t get out of them unless going to the shops.
bibbityboo2@reddit
Bra off, comfies on within 15 minutes of getting in the door.
Acceptable-World-175@reddit
Wtf no, I've never understood this! My stepkids used to do this as soon as they got in from school, and their Dad does it. I wear my clothes from first thing until bedtime. I sleep nude, so don't have pyjamas.
scottishdoggroomer@reddit
I can’t get into my pjs quick enough. The second I’m through the door I let the dogs in the garden and get my pyjamas on while they’re out there.
bananabastard@reddit
The first thing I do when I get home is take all my clothes off. The second the door is closed, I'm stripping.
pokebabe2015@reddit
I LIVE in my Oodie and jogging bottoms (which are my PJs because I like thicker items)
fannyabdabs@reddit
Processing img ayyrgxppudwg1...
PJs or comfies the second my foot hits the floor inside lol
elf_n_safety@reddit
Depends. I work shifts, so sometimes I might get home at 9pm, so definitely into jammies. But if I finish early and get home at 4 it’s comfy clothes.
jarvie45@reddit
I finish at 5.30pm, so depending if it’s light or not out. Winter months- 100%, Summer months- nah shorts on and outside to enjoy the light
Primary-Pineapple-74@reddit
No, as usually I have a ton of other things to do before bed. I will change into lounge wear though and then have a lovely long, hot shower before bed
VolcanicBear@reddit
I work from home, so I put them on as soon as I've walked the dogs.
Zubi_Q@reddit
Yep, always
Darth-__-Maul@reddit
I actually don’t own pajamas
ChaiSlytherin@reddit
I work hospitality so sometimes I finish mid-afternoon and getting in my pjs at 2pm just seems too long so I have comfy clothes for then. But also when I finish at 7pm, I'll bave a shower when I get home and get in my jim-jams then. So, the answer is it depends 😅
cold_tap_hot_brew@reddit
I don’t wear pjs in bed so I just have some pj adjacent lounge wear for the evening. I can’t be wearing jeans watching my shows. 😭
tranquessence@reddit
I have a shower as soon as I get in and then straight into my pyjamas!
Love_Lions@reddit
Same, its the best way to do it
DiskBytes@reddit
Yes and then have a lamb shank,
PolarLocalCallingSvc@reddit
My PJs consist of a pair of boxer shorts at best, so no, I just stay in the clothes I've been wearing unless they're filthy.
Sea-Ad-527@reddit
No, I have to wait for my three children to be fed and go to bed. Then I relax in a hot bath before pyjamas.
That said, I don’t find my work clothes massively uncomfortable, they fit nicely! Tailored wide leg trousers and skims style long sleeve tees.
Careful_Adeptness799@reddit
I’ve never done this in my life just get changed again it’s not difficult.
Mglfll@reddit
I do dual location. If I’m WFH I have my “work PJs” I wear when working at home, then change into my sleep ones from the evening time.
Ruby_Murray@reddit
No, I have “scruffs” for lounging in between work and pyjama time.
Tumeni1959@reddit
No, I have lounging wear for lounging around the house. Nightwear is for when I sleep.
Obvious-Water569@reddit
Not all the time, but I did today because I’m fucking knackered.
Geezer-McGeezer@reddit
Not pyjamas as I sleep naked, but I do take the jeans/trousers off and put joggers on.
MatteKudesai@reddit
I can't wait to get into pyjamas either, I wish I could go to work in them.
Do people ring doorbells these days unannounced? Apart from delivery people, of course?
Delilahpixierose21@reddit
Shower then straight into my pyjamas or some "lounge wear" if I'm feeling fancy.
(which is basically the outfit produced if pyjamas and a tracksuit had a baby 😂)
louse_yer_pints@reddit
Usually get into my comfy clothes after tea and everything is tidied away. Kinda like that's the day done as far as work goes so I can get changed and get the kettle on and relax.
No-Result3067@reddit
I'm usually showered, pajamas on, and makeup off by 7.
moonshine_9@reddit
Bath soon as I get in then pyjamas so they are clean and not transferring germs :)
FlatsInDagenham@reddit
No, have a shower first you filthy swine
Lexcooo@reddit
No, because I’m not a child.
llynllydaw_999@reddit
I'd give this 100 upvotes if I could.
fivebyfive12@reddit
Not all the time, but if I know I'm done with going out for the evening/rest of the day, then yes. I've been known to get into my PJ's as early as 4pm sometimes, especially after a busy day.
azlan121@reddit
I wear comfortable clothes to work, so when I get home, I'll change into other comfortable clothes if I'm gross and sweaty (or wore a suit that day). Unless I get home past about midnight, in which case I'll probably just strip down to my boxers and go to bed.
I don't really have any pyjamas, and very few items of clothing I would consider "home", "work" or "going out" clothes. Just a couple of fancy suits for the jobs that require them, and then "normal clothes, some of which are plain black for work appropriateness"
Sea_Pangolin3840@reddit
Absolutely! Comfort before fashion
Zaliciouz@reddit
Yess, make up off, PJs or comfy clothes on
Tough-Fox8404@reddit
Yes. I have young children and I don't want to bw changing a nappy in work clothes
SomeHSomeE@reddit
I don't sleep in PJs unless it's super cold. Normally just boxers or naked. So when I get home I usually just get into comfy clothes like shorts and t shirt or joggers + jumper. In winter sometimes straight to PJs.
Gingy2210@reddit
Sometimes I even wear my pyjamas after work to go to see my grandkids. They live 3 houses from me.
Educational_Try_6105@reddit
i do brazilian jiu jitsu after work, so i basically wear pyjamas for that
Legit_Vampire@reddit
I shower & put PJ's on unless I'm going anywhere I've got a dressing gown I use if anyone knocks the door. Let's face it I've seen mothers taking their kids to school while wearing PJ's ' dressing gown so I don't see anything wrong with wearing them in the house
CoffeeandaTwix@reddit
Sort of but my 'pyjamas' are just a normal tracksuit. I normally just sleep in boxers or naked so the tracksuit is just what I put on to loaf about in.
OkTadpole2920@reddit
Mostly, yes.
MisterD90x@reddit
Grey sweats and hoodie :D
Harrry-Otter@reddit
I don’t even own pyjamas.
Independent-Win-6661@reddit
I’m straight in them as soon as I get in 😂 Dont care if someone rings the doorbell.
jackoirl@reddit
No, feels a bit sloppy to me or like the kind of thing I’d do if I was depressed lol
sara61wilson@reddit
Shower. Pyjamas and dressing gown
ThrowRAkitty13@reddit
My comfy clothes are my pyjamas, but I shower first before putting them on after work clothes.
idreaminlowercase@reddit
As soon as I get home from work I immediately have a shower and change into pjs
Drath101@reddit
These days I tend to wear jeans to work so I wear them at home too. I do change my work shirt for a tshirt though
Defiant-Insect-3785@reddit
Absolutely we do! Although we do take them off for bed so our PJ’s are our comfortable home clothes. Life is too short to be uncomfortable at home.
TimElgin@reddit
The earlier the better👍
dbxp@reddit
No, get more comfy work clothes
SerendipitousCrow@reddit (OP)
I wear a uniform so not really an option
