My wife doesn't need to worry about that. Will states all my firearms are to be passed to my son. My will has explicit instructions for what to do with my guns - and preventing my wife from selling them is part of it. Realistically it's not that bad, but she used to be a lot more anti-gun. (Now she has a CHL). Still, she gets some, my kids get some, my sister & my nephew get some, etc.

I too have that problem, though I've slowed down quite a bit. Also I have (or at least had) a bit of everything, so a lot of itches have been scratched.
Yeah, I’m not sure I’ll ever scratch the AR thing. I fell in love with them when my dad brought home a Colt sporter in the 80’s. Never touched a ruger ranch rifle after that. He has a REAl AR collection. Makes me look amateur at best - and I’ve seen some other posts on here with dudes that had impressive collections. Make mine look like cow feed.
Just keep watching your LGS as someone will pass way and their family will take them there to offload. You can also find fairly regularly most of those on Gunbroker. May take a couple of months for some, but they come up.
I’m so glad to hear your wife is on here too! I think that’s fantastic that you got those for $400 and now they’ve got up in value to $600. It’s like an investment I think you need to buy more.
I knew a guy(he passed away 4 years ago) who bought or traded for at least 2 or 3 guns every single week for at least 45 years. He literally had guns piled up in ever single room of his house, including the bathroom, kitchen cabinets, atop of appliances, in between the couch cushions etc. I once asked him about how many guns he roughly thought that he might have. His answer was: " I have no idea cause i probably would never be able to find them all anyway....COOL!
You do need one more you need to get a colt single acting army, of course although if you do like engraving, I would recommend the Uberti engraved with faux mother of pearl grips cost around the same price as a colt single army
I know they get a lot of crap. I have a few stream lights, and the olight has good output. Funny how a bad supply of batteries can tarnish a brand. Sig and glockleg are still going strong though.
I just enjoy shooting. It’s therapy. You clear your mind and concentrate on a sight and a target. It boosts your confidence, helps you control yourself. Even if you don’t own all firearms, you know a bit about the history, how and why they were developed. Many are mechanical masterpieces - just like owning a fine watch.
Also, I believe it’s every citizens civic duty to participate in the legal process. Owning a firearm is one thing every citizen can do to help keep a tyrannical government in check. The 2A is the only check and balance that gives any of our rights any meaning. Without it, even our ability to vote, protest, or worship is diminished. Do people abuse the 2A? Absolutely. But people abuse every other right we have too. Checks and balances go both ways. Firearm ownership is how the people let the government know their vote matters. There is a reason the largest standing army is the American people. I’m proud to vote, go to church, and proud to tell the people within the government they are morons. And firearms ownership gives even non gun owners the confidence to do the same whether they realize it or not. It’s a shame the federalist papers aren’t taught in school. The founders wrote a lot about firearm ownership and defending freedom.
Bro my question was just a tongue in cheek comment. 😂 I agree 2A is something to preserve though I think if the fed government wanted to come after you, they'd just send an Apache so these guns would be meaningless.
My brother has 3 and it doesn’t excite me. I mean, if the price is right, sure. But it’s not something that I really want. I can think of a few AR variants I’d like to build (hence the receivers). AK? I might consider a galil before an AK. Galil might be the closest I’d go to an AK.
This stuff is always comforting because it reminds me the ATF has a bunch more people to no-knock raid for legally owning legal objects before they’re likely to get to someone who legally has a smaller number of legal objects.

That’s funny. I actually found a few when I was putting these away that I forgot about/didn’t realize I missed.

You’re right. Maybe always 2 or three more. Collecting things is fun. Helps you become a mini expert in a mini field. Learning is the best thing to exercise the mind.
Yeah. My old man has a bunch of those. I have access, but even hunting is take a bolt gun most of the time. Lever guns do have a place in my heart though.
The only Glock I had was a 42. It didn't work for shit, Glock told me to pay a gunsmith to fix it. (It only worked with Gold Dots, sold it to someone for whom that was not a problem).
now when the cops say they seized an 'arsenal' from someones house, this is what I picture. Then they show a picture and its like an old .22 and 2 shotguns with 1 box of shells.
Let’s just say I got my MBA, and I have a degree in mathematics. I’m good with numbers, but I’m not good at saving money if it doesn’t go in my retirement account. But I pay tithing and my bills before I spend money on cars, vacations and then guns.
I’m also in my 40’s. This is a 30 year collection. I plan on collecting a few more, but I like what I have. I usually get one for my birthday and Christmas.
Some aren’t anything to brag about, but I like them.
I need a tomcat and a minx. The I will have all of the beretta cats. I was going to grab a tomcat while the rebate is going on. I just don’t know how much I’d shoot it, which is my only real reservation.
I have a Glock 42. It’s in 380 auto. It gies bang, but I prefer how other pistols go bang.
I just like giving Glock owners crap, and they give me crap in return. It’s friendly banter as far as I am concerned. Enjoy your glocks. They are fine pistols.
But get yourself a P226, a 92, or cz75 and enjoy some variety.
No. This is how I keep a journal. This is pack full of memories. The SA 22 is what I got for Christmas when I was 12 I pick it up and remember all kinds of times goofing off with my dad and friends.
The citori shotgun reminds me of cool autumn days hunting pheasants with my grandpa and my uncles.
Some of those handguns remind me of my friend who died a year ago. Others remind me of how hard I worked to get through college.
That Jericho 941 tho 😍
I have never gotten the chance to fire one but I have often thought that it might be the most elegant looking modern production pistol.
They are fun. Cz75 clone. They run better used. I also replaced a few springs to tune them a bit, and polished a few internal components. I had the privilege of having an older gentleman befriend me who had worked for Ruger making triggers. He taught me a few things about making triggers go from good to “gooder”. He was a cool guy.
I see several comments along the lines of “why do you need so many”, and “consumerism at its finest”.
Fuck that. It’s your right and your money, do what you want with it!
Source: I recently shared a portion of my mag/ammo stockpile and got called out for over-consuming. Kiss my ass. It’s my right (and my duty) to buy and own as many as I can and want.
Yup. I give 10% of my money to my church - that’s on the gross, not net. I buy my wife and kids what they need. I have a hobby. This is 30 years of my hobby. Most firearms I own have a story associated with them. This is my memories of my dad, my grandpa, friends. It’s not just steel.
You gotta start somewhere. My first was a browning SA22. Then the citori and .44 mag revolver. Christmas every other year as a teenager. After that I couldn’t afford anything until after college. I could barely afford a box of golden bullets to go hunt rabbits in the west desert of Utah. College changed that. Learn a trade, or get a degree in something that pays and is interesting. You’ll do fine if you pay the time.
I’ve thought of an integrally suppressed 10/22 or mk4. A kneecapped or hush puppy. It wouldn’t be hard to change a few things around for that. And thanks. There are a million things on the list. I love the guys who stick to one brand. They are my hero’s. A dude with 20 92’s is someone I think I could be friends with for sure.
I almost bought a armalight ar50 back in the day. It was the or tuition and books for a semester. I chose the later. No regrets. One day if I have a hole burning in my pocket.
It’s a CGS hydra SS. I think it’s a dVP coating or something like that. They use to just do a flame finis on the titanium, but they started doing this to make the colors pop a little more. It’s been a durable coating.
Looks like you need a 2011 of some sort. The stealth arms platypus , kimber 2k11 and sig p211 gto are good places to start. The platypus will do p320/glock mags, 2k11 takes real 2011 mags and gto uses p320 mags. Can get them all comped or non comped as well
Yeah. I also wanted another NM. Mine are 20 years old. Haven’t shot NM since college, but I told my wife when my youngest son is finished with high school in a few years I want to get back into it. But a mk12 is a good idea too.

The only Glock I had was a 42. It didn't work for shit, Glock told me to pay a gunsmith to fix it. (It only worked with Gold Dots, sold it to someone for whom that was not a problem).

I’d do a galil before an AK. That’s probably as AK as I’d ever go. I have my favorites.
I have some family members with some AK’s. It’s just not my thing.

Ok genuinely, when I was see this, the first thing I honestly think is what kinda job do you have to be able to afford all of this.
(you don't have to give an answer as I find it a personal question)
And sick collection honestly!

I don’t have a lot of .243 or .270 ready to go. I reload this though and have plenty of powder, primers etc. I use Wilson dies and an arbour press.

No, these are my memories.

That Jericho 941 tho 😍 I have never gotten the chance to fire one but I have often thought that it might be the most elegant looking modern production pistol.

It’s a CGS hydra SS. I think it’s a dVP coating or something like that. They use to just do a flame finis on the titanium, but they started doing this to make the colors pop a little more. It’s been a durable coating.
