I've run out of gravy granules, anyone know an alternative I can make without going to the shop?

Stock cube + boiling water and then thicken it with cornflour

5 years late but I just tried this and it tastes horrific. The cornstarch made the gravy taste just like floury and now the mash potatoes I poured the gravy over have turned into a horrible gloopy texture
