Another KVM Question - DELL Work Laptop with DELL Dock + Desktop

I haven't had my desktop going for over a year and would really like to have it up and running again! Right now I have limited space and need to utilise 1 desk for home and work.
I have a DELL K20A dock that I connect my Work Laptop (Also Dell) into via USB-C connection.
I have searched a fair bit and there are heaps of answers and varying kvm suggestions, not all of which are available in AUS.
I initially thought I could just use a 2monitor 2pc kvm and have 2x2hdmi in from the Dell dock and desktop pc. I don't understand how the peripherals will work on the laptop through the kvm to the dock. Assuming it might be the usb from the kvm to the dock, I just know how difficult the dock can be somethimes swapping from Laptop display and peripherals to external display/peripherals.
Has anyone got a similar setup and can shed some light on how this would work or a better suggestion on how I can set it up? Even if I can remove the doc entirely if that is an option.
Preferably with items available in Aus.
Cheers 🤙🤙

KVM works by you connecting your monitor and peripherals into your KVM and then connecting your PCs to the KVM.
Then as you switch your KVM you control which PC is getting the input and which output is displayed.

Yeah but how do the peripherals talk to each pc is it through a usb connector?
