Do you use the cycle hire?

I've been seeing a lot of lime e-bikes and e-scooters around. Tried the bike twice and wanna use the scooter since it'll be easier on me I think lol. A bit pricey but depends on how long you use it for.

Yes. I use the one in Glasgow. You can get 1700 minutes for 17.99 and it lasts 30 days.

I’ve never used it, but I’ve seem them around though.
If you were to use it a lot, probably would make more sense to purchase one for yourself, scooters don’t take up that much space.

Privately owned eScooters aren't road-legal, unlike the ones op's referring to.

So what? Paint it green and white, and none the wiser.

That’s not the issue. The issues are : 1) no insurance (you do need a provisional license as well) 2) liability if you injure someone 3) see 1) and 2)
An IN10 endorsement on your license will be there for 4 years, come with a fine, 6-8 points and is an absolute offence. You insurance premium will be very high for years; along with drink driving, IN10 carries a heavy burden.

And if the Bizzies are doing a thing on them, they can remove / crush it unless you can get insurance ( and nobody sells it ) and give you points for riding a motorbike ( as thats what a non hire electric scooter is seen as by the law at present ) without insurance and tax etc, 6 points maybe ? But Lime etc are good and nice and easy, just a bit grubby and bashed about.

No, I travel too much on my bike to spend so much on essentially renting one. Bikes are so cheap to buy and maintain. It will work for some, but honestly, the amount I use it, it's cheaper to donate my nice bike every year and buy a brand new one than pay for Lime (or other similar).

They are fun, I use them ( Lime and Santander (etc ) rather than Londons Underground where I can. Scooter or bike, both make things easy. Just dont use them like a d1ck. I like Lime as you can buy minutes and use them a few times over the course of the day and this keeps it a little cheaper. Never managed to get the Santander app working, but theres a new version coming I think.

Yeah in London its essential transport and often a lot faster than the Tube or Bus depending on your journey or route preference. Sunshine, cycling and somewhere to be is what it's all about. It is also incredible for your health, even the electric-assist. Widespread in urban and rural Holland, Belgium and France too.
