I started an open source project instead of begging on the street

I don't understand how you went from "I don't have a job" to "I'm building an open source Java Extension"
What's the goal here? Why aren't you applying for jobs? Any jobs at this point?

As I mentioned in my post, I’ve been consistently applying for jobs, but I’ve been rejected by all of them. To be honest, I received a bunch of rejection emails all at once today, and I felt so discouraged that I ended up writing that post. If you have any work for me, I’d be more than happy to take it.

I guess if I was living in a tent, I would be applying for jobs in literally anything. Pubs, Bars, Resturaunts, Shops, literally anything other than tech. And I would be picking up freelance work on the side not building an open source library.

I've applied for all sorts of things, including AI tagging, but nothing has worked out. I've been earning my own tuition since I was young, so I’ve done everything from manual labor to driving a taxi. I am truly in a desperate situation. I know I probably can't make you understand my circumstances 100%, because people can only see others through the lens of their own experiences.

It's not that I don't understand your circumstances. I just don't understand how this is a viable solution or good use of your time honestly.
Even picking up random low paying projects on Freelancer.com or something would be better.

OP thought begging on the internet would be easier

Does it make you feel better to say that when I’ve spent the last six months building a fully functional project? Did you even bother to read my post? It doesn't seem like it. Have you looked at the GitHub README or the many examples I’ve prepared? You should choose your words more carefully. You never know when you might suddenly find yourself in a situation like mine.

Wait it sounds like you're not yet at $500/month. How's it going?

Since I'm out of money, I've been getting by on free meals from charities. Thanks to those kind people, I’ve been able to hold on and keep working on the JADEx project.
