How bad is this ram kit?

Hi,
I have already bought the ram before the shortage, i wonder how much difference they make.
I have the Corsair DDR5 Vengence 32gb CL 40 5600 M/ts kit. How terrible are they and how much performance am i missing out on?

I work in maintenance as a master tech for industrial manufacturing. Some machines use PC's to drive them. One thing I have noticed the past year or so, before all this high demand price jump stuff, memory modules going bad. Whether it's an AMD or Intel machine, Corsair brand memory has failed so much. 12 machines on the production floor last year and this year, have died, needing new memory, across several different companies. A couple work stations in the offices, and heard from colleagues about same problems from different equipment across the country using a similar setup. Very disappointed in Corsair. Of all brands that you'd think wouldn't be worth anything is actually been very good, G.Skill. been very happy with that brand so far. Especially for equipment that has high memory demand image processing. Good luck in your adventures. I, as a professional in the manufacturing field wanted to warn you of what I have been seeing and hopefully spare you and anyone reading this from undue stress and costs from bad quality from a once very reputable brand.

Some years back there used to be an epidemic of failing memory kits on the consumer market. Didn't matter who the manufacturer was, with the one exception that was G.Skill. It's an OG taiwanese company in the memory market and i have never even considered buying any other brand.

Seriously? G Skill is one of the oldest and most reliable brands in the RAM market.

Really? Honestly I haven't noticed them come on scene til maybe 15 years ago? I stand corrected. I've been in and out of the computer tech scene since the late 90s, but that doesn't mean anything. Well, my original point still stands, Corsair not what they used to be.

G Skill has been around since the late 80s I think. I know they were around in the 90s when I started building PCs.
G Skill is kinda the last standing of my ram holy Trinity that I always depended on. Crucial just pulled out of the market so their stuff is drying up. Mushkin is still around but they aren't what they used to be.
I'm personally not a huge fan of Corsair RAM either. Most of the weird RAM Issues I've had with PCs have been with Corsair RAM. Never had any flat out die on me, it just acted weird. Then when I'd slot in something else everything was fine.
Turbulent_Grape_2686@reddit
Same here exactly. Never really had any to outright die, but plagued with wierd issues. Well, maybe so I did, but never really investigated that deep. Never wanted to spend a ton of time figuring out which module is dead, or stress testing anything. In industrial tech, time is money. So when determined possible bad memory, just replace them all. I honestly didn't know g.skill had been around that long. Good to know though! I'm very nostalgic, so employing old brands that have been around for many decades makes me fuzzy inside 🤣

I'm on mobile right now so I can't look them up but there are YouTube videos showing the difference in various ram speed performances.
Long story short it's not much. Especially if you are using an AMD CPU and even more so with a X3D CPU.
Even in the worst case scenario it's like 5% difference.
Relevant_Ring_5055@reddit
Propably few % so basicly nothing. At these prices i think you should just get whats cheapest, no matter The cl timings or MTS numbers.

Exactly. The base ddr5 4800mt/s is faster than the best ddr4 made . Any ddr5 ram is acceptable really right now . And yes you can go into the timings and all . But fact is . You won't notice the difference if your having to ask about it . You probably just want a good performing PC. And for that any ddr5 sticks will do fine .

This!!!

Amount of ram > speed of ram within the same class (i.e. DDR5). Now if you compare slow ddr4 to fast ddr5 it becomes more difficult.

It’s okay. You can try to overclock it to 6000mhz cl36 clocks from the same Kit. You need to to higher the voltage for example from 1.25v to 1.35v or 1.3 to 1.4v. When it is stable go down in 0.1v til its unstable and than go 0.2v higher
SaunaApprentice@reddit
Depends on workload and amount of cpu cache also, for some workloads the impact is basically nothing, for cpu and memory heavy games and with small cpu cache the impact can be the difference between imperceptible and noticable lag
TechnoGMNG589@reddit
if you dont know the difference it doesnt matter with a perf diff this small
Mega_Ass_Sp00n@reddit
legit nothing, like maybe 5%
