This would be for my Editing (After Effect, Premiere, Pts) and Gaming (both competitive and AAA games) in 34 inch monitor, planned to be 1440p with 240 Hz later on. Right now Im using a 3070.
Honestly Im looking toward the 5080 for long term but the price is kinda crazy right now in my country, 5070 at $620 and 5080 at $1350.

At that price the 5070 is the much better value play for 1440p gaming. I would only go 5080 for 4K setup.

Could go in between and grab a 5070ti, it’s barely slower than a 5080 and should be a fair bit cheaper

Good point I might shoot the bullet for it actually, it's going around $900-950 but not as high like the jump from 5070 to 5080... Too bad I really like how the FE looking but it's what it's

Just FYI, You aren't going to be able to buy FE. Just give that idea up. Get yourself some nice looking palit card/gigabyte card/msi card without all the rgbs and just move on from FE. People here build whole-ass PCs and then wait endlessly for FE, because they love that sleek look, while GPU prices keep rising. Most of them never manage to land their hands on FE and then they are forced to pay 10-15% more for non-FE card than what they would have paid had they not waited.

Actually... I got the 5080 FE already, the price is literally based on one available at my country right now but yeah after reconsidering it I decied to invest anyways.

Ah damn, that's cool af then. Most people never manage to get their hands on the FE edition, as they sell out within a minute or two when they drop on the nvidia marketplace. Great buy IMO.

False. It is barely slower than a 5080 in raw performance, but the moment you take PT/RT/RR/DLAA under consideration and it simply flies away at 30-45/50% (if UV/OCed) more performance. Nobody is using these cards at raw performance anymore, stop lying. With DLSS, the difference is still 15-20% depending on the title.

After somewhat deep thought, I decied to pull the trigger for the 5080 FE, will gonna pick it up tomorrow so thanks to everyone to share their opinion about regard my question. Really appreciated y'all !

5070ti, best of both worlds
RedLimes@reddit
3440x1440p at only 100hz — I would get 5070 personally. Obviously you will get more performance the higher you go, but a 5070 would drive that just fine at significant cost savings. You can throw the rest in a HYSA and upgrade sooner in the coming years
NefariousSINNER@reddit
Gonna give you a different perspective, but if you can afford 5080, go for it. It is barely 15% better, maybe even 10-12 in raw peformance at stock values than 5070Ti (about 30-40% better than 5070), but where it shines is ray tracing/path tracing/ray reconstruction/MFG/DLSS/DLAA, it boosts like 30-40% better. No joke. Additionally pretty much every 5080 leaves about 5-10% of extra peformance on the table if you UV/OC the card. It has a really nice room for it. I have Inno3D RTX 5080 X3 OC and have it at stock and I'm more than happy with it. I might UV/OC it in the future though.
If 1350 is really scary, then definitely 5070Ti.
5070 is okay, but the 12gb vram is stinky.
Due_Permission4658@reddit
5070 is enough for 1440p AAA gaming but if you want more headroom for longevity go in between and get a 5070ti have it and it’s amazing for 1440p actually had a 5070 but switched cause i wanted more vram😅 the 5070ti should still be way cheaper than a cheaper like 300-400$ cheaper on average
FolksBraggin@reddit
5070ti is the move, i would think
Tatsuya1221@reddit
As others have stated if your dead set on nvidia go for the 5070ti over the 5080 but yes you will feel it at higher refresh rates, however it must be pointed out that this only matters if your planning to turn up settings, you can run most things with rarely using dlss on a 5070, it really comes down to how much your willing to adjust the settings, since you mentioned competitive games your likely following the meta of turning settings down to as low as possible for maximum fps, so i must point this out.
If your looking to max games out as much as possible, get the 5070ti over the 5070, the difference between it and the 5080 aren't good enough for the markup.

I ran 1440p 240Hz IPS and more recently 1440p 280Hz OLED. I mostly play games like COD and BF. The 5080 does a good job but is not over powered. If you have the budget I say get as much gpu horsepower as possible.

Split the difference..
ComprehensiveOil6890@reddit
I running 5070 I recommend getting 5080

16GB VRAM card. at least
