Is pairing a RX 9070 XT with Ryzen 5 5600g a horrible idea?

I already have the Ryzen 5 5600g, and I'm planning to buy the 9070 XT. I will upgrade to something better than the 5600g ofc, but I can't do it all at once.
For 1080p gaming it shouldn't be too problematic, right? (Plan on jumping to 1440p, but that's for later)

I no longer use AMD, but does anyone know if the Adrenalin Software has a DSR/DLDSR equivalent? If yes, that's what I would recommend using in OPs case.
On a 1080p Monitor it should allow you to render your games at 1440p, which improves visual fidelity. It won't look as good as 'real' 1440p on a Native Display, but still much better than 1080p.
With a 9070 XT you definitely have enough headroom to do so.

It would bottleneck a lot at 1080P. 9070XT is a very fast card. I own a 5950X with a 9070XT, but I play games at 4K, so there's zero bottlenecking.

Nah very good idea. I would reccomend to get the gpu now and upgrade the cpu sometime in the future (i've heard that they are starting production on the 5800x3d again soon in case you wanna stay on am4) the only thing that may become problematic is the PSU so make sure that you have a good enough one

no not really it will work.

It won’t be problematic in the sense that you’ll still get good performance (obviously, since this setup is overkill for 1080p) but you will definitely be extremely CPU bound at 1080p in a lot of situations. 1440p with settings cranked will be a lot less of an issue and should do fine in the sense that you will get the most out of all of the GPU you paid for. At least until you can upgrade. That being said, 5600g should keep up fine for the most part at 1440p with a 9070 xt, so much so that I wouldn’t even bother upgrading to AM5 and just get something like a 5500x3d/5600x3d instead if you really feel like you need an upgrade. Sorry for the ramble and mobile formatting lol.

Yeah but who carnes as long as you upgrade cpu later on you are good to go
Popular_Gain917@reddit
No problem dude don't think much of it, you can definetly pair them and obviously it'll get bottlenecked but you're going to upgrade anyway so yeah...
You will be able to play 1440p with this pairing too the 5600 isn't that bad lol

It's so much GPU power, that even with the ridiculous bottleneck you'd likely get the performance you want/need
Reasonable-Put5569@reddit
It'd be a bottleneck but yeah you can make it work by cokpromising maybe like 20% fps ig
