Happened in occupied south Lebanon, how would the Balkans react if it were done by ISIS etc?

Honestly I wouldnt give a fuck if someone is hitting a Jesus statue in a freaking warzone.
Its war, who cares about a Jesus statue?
Accomplished-Ad2736@reddit
What warzone? It's a small christian village
SpiritedCatch1@reddit
There is a difference between an individual soldier action and a group policy. There is no doubt that this behavior isn't reflective of the attitude of Israel towards Christians, while it was the standard policy of ISIS to remove crosses / persecute Christians. You don't need to be a hardcore Zionist to see the difference.
hiperf1@reddit
They are literally killing Christians in Lebanon, stop trying to come excuses for murderers
SpiritedCatch1@reddit
Are they being killed because they are christians? It's like saying that Turkiye is killing Kurds because they all are Kurds in Syria. Pretty different from what ISIS is doing which is purely killing people on religious grounds.
Accomplished-Ad2736@reddit
yes they were bombing christians in lebanon on their Easter
SpiritedCatch1@reddit
You really believe they chose christians and the Easter date specifically? Why they wouldn't kill the Christians in Jerusalem west, way less trouble for them, they are right inside their country.
hiperf1@reddit
Reasonings behind murder never justifies it. You can condemn ISIS for deliberately targeting a population and at the same time condem Israel for killing people blindly.
SpiritedCatch1@reddit
Sure, I can. I can also recognize the difference between killing people blindly to achieve a military objective and the military objective being killing civilians (and in this case, due to their ethnicity / religion).
Your country killed tens of thousands of Kurds during it's war against PKK, I don't think it's a genocide or that the goal of the Turkish state was to kill the maximum amount of Kurds. Same for Israel, they wouldn't be attacking Lebanon without Hezbollah constantly rocketing them. If they just wanted to kill Arabs, they could just cross the Jordan and start slaughtering Jordanian, they have way heavier territorial claim there. But no, Jordan is their ally so they never face any kind of violence.
trisul-108@reddit
Especially considering the government admitted it happened, apologised and offered to help the locals restore the statue.
SpiritedCatch1@reddit
It doesn't matter, we're going to see this picture for years with the comment "Jews appears to really respect Christianity... Thoughts?"
levenspiel_s@reddit
What are you on about?? Oh whataboutism, I see.
padel_zdravlje@reddit
Israel is the same as ISIS tbh, a terrorist state
Starfalloss@reddit
ISIS is a creation of Mossad and the CIA.
Cileorscowen@reddit
CryptographerOk7588@reddit
Never trust what Zionist say. The Baghdad Synagoge bombings of 1950-1951 was probably also a false flag operation by the Mossad
Cileorscowen@reddit
ISIS fighters would in November 2016 make a notable attack from the Golan Heights, but the claim that they apologized would come from an Israeli general, Moshe Ya’alon, but this was only from him, and there was no apology from ISIS itself.
LankyTumbleweeds@reddit
Doesn’t seem like Israel holds a grudge for what transpired in the Sinai though. They didn’t have a problem arming and funding the militants a few years later.

chiroque-svistunoque@reddit
Yes, you can't control everything, CIA basically created Taliban, and look how the tables have turned...
Cileorscowen@reddit
On January 1, 2016, A Palestinian Gunman inspired by ISIS, and during the “Intifada of the Individuals”, opened fire at several Israeli businesses on Dizengolf Street, killing 3 and wounding 7 more.
Cileorscowen@reddit
October 16, 2017, saw another wave of ISIS attacks from Sinai against Israel, with the claimed motive being Israeli assistance of the Egyptian government against the insurgents inside the Sinai peninsula.
Cileorscowen@reddit
ISLAMIC STATE attacked Israel many times i have proof
Snarknado3@reddit
you got any credible source for that insane statement?
Starfalloss@reddit
Common sense.
Snarknado3@reddit
ok buddy, a real geopolitical expert you are. does your common sense also know what really happened on 9/11 and in the moon landings?
Saphan24@reddit
And what is a credible source for you? U.S. or Israel admitting?
There are many hints that is is true (captured ISIS leaders being Mosad agents, equipment used, ISIS fighting Israeli enemies and not Israel -> explaning that logic to me).
Expr3@reddit
ISIS also caused more muslim deaths than any other religious group. Most of the time they were fighting against muslims that would not join them and instead were defending their countries. I mean cmon, their biggest enemy is Israel, but there is no single jew that is killed or attacked by ISIS. All of the terrorist attacks that caused death of innocent people is 100% Mossad agents cosplaying as islamic fighters, trying to make world hate islam, because thats their biggest obstacle for their great israel plan. They are already in every goverment in the world, behind the scene, controlling media, marketing, i mean just look at all of the products of israel from food to clothes, they are biggest evil on this planet.
Niocs@reddit
wHaT Is YOuR sOUrCe 🤡
taloschat@reddit
İsis never attacked israel for some reason
freddo_expresso@reddit
In fact it's much worse.
TwoFistsOneVi@reddit
Let's not undermine what ISIS did just because we all hate Israel right now.
Since 2014, ISIS caused up to 4,5 million deaths (direct and indirect) and close to 40 million people were displaced.
Yes, Israel is a terrorist state, but ISIS was on a whole another level.
Defiant-Strength2010@reddit
Israel created and funded ISIS, why do you think ISIS never attacked Israel only Israel's "enemies"?
Ambitious_Crazy_8783@reddit
Israel attributes lone-wolf attacks to ISIS, but the only time the organisation itself actually attacked Israel - it fucking apologised :S
bRiCk404@reddit
Even in extremes, you want to see Islam as a bigger threat than other religions. Croatian indoctrination of "it's either us or the Muslims" is no different than Israel I swear.
How is one religious group of people thinking they have the right to colonise middle east "on a whole another level" than other? Is it about the death toll? Even with your hallucination of numbers, I don't see the logic behind your thinking.
Keep having this mindset and we'll see how the round 427813 will unfold in the Balkans I guess.
TwoFistsOneVi@reddit
How the hell did you manage to get offended by a comment saying that ISIS caused more deaths and displacement, than Israel?
It's not a competition, it's a fact. And if you get hurt by facts, then I got bad news for you
bRiCk404@reddit
Nice strawman fallacy by introducing your own argument (that I’m offended) and then dismantling your own argument by implying getting offended by “facts” is silly.
I am not offended and those are not facts. You don’t know how to argue with someone, cause you are the one who is emotionally attached to the subject. Why else would you inflate the numbers of one group of religious extremists while being apologetic to the other?
Waiting for you to cite some sources for your imaginary numbers btw.
TwoFistsOneVi@reddit

Jews and Muslims hold the same view on Christians when it comes to religious practices. Islama is much more closer to Judaism than Christianity is.
Although muslims respect Christians more but that ends there.
Try to have the same statue in Saudi Arabia, Iran, Oman etc.
Leading_Ball4324@reddit
They have bro, just you don’t know that.
macker64@reddit
Speaks volumes really about this heinous lot.
Sea-Temporary-6995@reddit
I see this picture making the rounds and it’s just weird. I mean the killing of a single innocent person in Lebanon is far worse than smashing a statue, but somehow smashing the statue makes far more bang.
SentenceTop1585@reddit
Why even do that? If anyone is universally accepted as a good guy, it's Jesus
FantasticQuartet@reddit
Well, not in Judaism. He's seen as a heretic.
Sardoodledome@reddit
you are very kind on how Jews view Jesus. Here is the Talmud on it:
The Story of Onkelos
The passage recounts a story where Onkelos, a Roman nobleman and nephew of Emperor Titus who was considering converting to Judaism, uses necromancy to summon the spirits of three notorious figures to ask their advice.
Inevitable_Motor_685@reddit
Wtf is boiling semen
bg681@reddit
No it means boiling shit
Holiday-Step9703@reddit
Semen that is boiling
Big-Vegetable4550@reddit
Yeah - somehow I kinda thought it would turn into something like boiled egg whites.
Lazy-Relationship-34@reddit
Not all Jews see the Talmud as an authoritative writing, and the Talmud is at best a Medieval glossary of fan fiction. What you are doing is essentially holding the writings of Saint John Chrysostom as the Bible, when in fact Christians read the Bible and Jews read the Torah. Kudos to you, though, for flexing your one neuron long enough to copy paste AI and promote it as your own answer.
TheCharalampos@reddit
Gross.
levenspiel_s@reddit
There is a high possibility he didn't even exist, certainly not in biblical or quranic the version, but that's beside the point. This is a typical Israeli disrespect to anything that's not them.
Sea-Temporary-6995@reddit
This. In fact, all of these conflicts happening in the Middle East are based on mythology and figures that most probably never existed. There’s no proof that Moses existed at all. Real people are dying over imaginary fairy tales.
Miloslolz@reddit
No there isn’t, Jesus is a confirmed historical figure who did preach and was crucified and that was confirmed a long time ago by non religious sources.
TheCharalampos@reddit
That's not true. You might feel like it is but that doesn't change it.
levenspiel_s@reddit
He wasn't confirmed. That's simply not true. Most academics think someone called Jesus did exist, but not all. Even of he did, he was nothing like described in Bible, which kept evolving over time any way (myth making) as new authors started using more and more imagination, with lots of contradictions. Then Constantine made him the figure we most recognize today, because it was very helpful to his agenda.
Like all religions, including Judaism and Islam, Christianity is also based on myths. All fairy tales.
TheatreOfAbsehrd@reddit
He literally was Israeli
levenspiel_s@reddit
He was a jew, and was executed by jews. If he existed. He probably didn't.
Aferimus@reddit
Prolly because they also killed him
LoresVro@reddit

Holiday-Step9703@reddit

Jack55555@reddit
I don't think that guy was alive back then.

West_Persimmon_3240@reddit
Well they think ge will boil in excrement. Look at Gittin 56
RikiMaro18@reddit
They paid Judas to betray Jesus and convinces romans to kill him.
bycara@reddit
Gittin 57a:4, they basically believe that Jesus is in hell and punished with boiling excrement.
LaFleur90@reddit
They hate Jesus. They see him as a heretic traitor scammer. If your read the Talmud, the things they say about Jesus are horrible...
Etsikaietsi@reddit
What, like this? No one really cares.
Just a variation of - it didn't happen, but if it did, they deserved it. Same as with everything else that happens here.
True-Blacksmith4235@reddit
Yeah. It’s always- it didn’t happen, but even if it did, it’s deserved, and how dare to even mention it.
Ujemegaz@reddit
Is "i morto i serbi" supposed to be written by Romanians or Italians 🤔
Recent-Excitement234@reddit
Considering the absurd misspellings, that was surely not written by italian hand.
King_Rediusz@reddit
Probably the same. The recent Iran war stuff turned me from a hardcore Israel supporter to an IDF hater. The way they treat Lebanese Christians is DISGUSTING.
hiperf1@reddit
It is saddening to hear that you only see their atrocities as bad when it comes to Christians and not anyone else, we are not against Israel because they hurt one of ours, we are against them because they are hurting humans. And that should be the end of the deal.
If this was the point that made you aware of what is "actually" going on I am glad, but it is also sad that we only tend to care when the problem is closer. There is a saying in Turkish "The one snake who doesn't touch me, shall live a thousand years." Let's not be like that, not just you, all of us, then we can make this whole world a better place.
King_Rediusz@reddit
Honestly, better late than never.
I spent too long deluding myself and preferring to ignore those atrocities in favor of supporting an independent Jewish state. I still want to support Israel, but not while they're giving the Nazis a run for their money...
I admit that I have a negative view of Islam, but that should not excuse ignoring these atrocities against people who just want to live a normal life according to the traditions they followed for a thousand years.
Prestigious_Onion_20@reddit
You are a bad person
Holiday-Step9703@reddit
How so? He's obviously fully aware of his old outlook and is regretting holding it.
Prestigious_Onion_20@reddit
That is true and it's good that he is changing his out look but that doesn't excuse the out look he had before, he ignored and turned a blind eye to the suffering of people that didn't do anything bad and we're simply living peacefuly and only recently did he see what atrocious the Israelites were doing
NGluck123@reddit
Also consider that the Palestinian resistance movements were way more secular in the past. Israel sabotaged and destroyed more moderate and secular Palestinian resistance movements.
Yoyle0340@reddit
The Israelis allowed Qatari and gulf money to flow into Hamas pockets too, they never admit to that publicly.
hiperf1@reddit
Absolutely, better late than never.
It is always, and I genuinely mean this, that compassion, and curiosity makes us go further than we have ever done, not prejudice, not conservatism. Even though I do not entirely agree with your ideas that shouldn't mean we can't stand side by side when we come across atrocities.
I hope through you one person can change their minds, be it your family or a friend or someone random, by that you would have already changed the world.
CreBanana0@reddit
When someone crosses a line you do not get mad at them only for that, it provides a push to break inertia from changing your opinion.
hiperf1@reddit
I am not mad, I am happy that they are compassionate, yet I can't deny that it is also sad.
drjnn@reddit
Ah so what happened before in Gaza or the West Bank didn’t make you blink, weird statement but ok.
SheriffOfNothing@reddit

Palestinians volunteered in balkan wars on mujaheed side, they were slautgheringSerbs and Croats, same as Iran. So why would i show affection towards terrorist nation and religion. So violance against muslim jihad will never bother me at all. But i condemn this photo of Israeli soldier and Jesus
Yoyle0340@reddit
They bombed a catholic Church in Gaza, we're speaking of a competent military with laser guided missiles and bombs...
prozeke97@reddit
To be fair, you should question why extreme and systematic violance against muslims in the same area did not bother you in any way.
King_Rediusz@reddit
Yeah. I justified it as Israel protecting their homeland from terrorists.
I still want to support Israel, but I can no longer ignore the atrocities that I was willing to ignore up until now.
I'm tired of Israel leeching off of US aid, only to start wars...
PayAdministrative436@reddit
What a hypocrite lol
levenspiel_s@reddit
Because it was not about Palestinians' being muslim in the first place. It's their "promised land", and whomever is there, even if they're buddhist or pagans, they'd destroy them.
Affectionate-Ad6801@reddit
The Palestinian Christians are having it worse
Constant-Incident-XX@reddit
ISIS was originally created by CIA and Israel, ISIS fighters were hospitalized and cured in Israel after combats, so ISIS = Israel

it got confirmed by the israelis btw:

It's a digrace. Israel is now a state sponsor of terrorism.
So long as they are kept unchecked, there will never be peace in the Middle East
hiperf1@reddit
Now? They were always a terrorist state
PayAdministrative436@reddit
He means now that they target christians on this scale. It was ok when they were killing muslims
Holiday-Step9703@reddit
It wasn't - people were just literally unaware of the scale of the problem. Myself included and I repent for it.
SuperPatsavouras@reddit
It is one soldier. Not the country's policy. In Israel there are hundreds of churches and especially many of them are related with the life of Jesus. On the other hand, for ISIS , all the Christians are infidels and they must be vanished from the earth.
hiperf1@reddit
Jews literally see Jesus as an heretic, and they mentioned that he must be boiling in Hell right now, open your eyes.
Zazubica@reddit
I am just curious, where is Jesus mentioned as heretic?
hiperf1@reddit
Higher up another comment explains it better than I could with examples. u/sardoodledome s comment
But another perspective is this, Judaism precedes Christanity, they do not believe Jesus is a prophet, son of God, or God himself, otherwise they would be Christians, or Muslims if they accepted him as a prophet not Jews.
And anyone who do not practice Judaism is a heretic for them
Krasniqi857@reddit

As a Muslim, ISIS itself is funded by israel lol, the only country in the middle east that hasn't been atttacked by ISIS.
AstropathicRelay@reddit
Both US and Israel tend to use various (mostly suni) terrorist groups in a tactical way to destabilize regional states they they find are not fully align with them or present even a slightest threat to their regional influence. Occasional terrorist attacks on the homeland are mostly irrelevant to them when you compare that to strategic benefits one can extract from successful rival state destabilization.
Israel funded and created HAMAS in order prevent Palestinians from achieving a unified stance with PLO regarding two state solution. US was more than willing to fund suni flavor of Islamic jihadis in order to overthrow Syrian government (Operation Timber Sycamore) but then had to go back in and prevent ISIS from gaining too much power. Something similar happening in post war Iraq where they had to wage a war for the third time in order to prevent them ISIS - Al Qaeda from gaining too big of a foothold. Funny thing is they cooperated with shia's in order to weaken suni flavor of terrorists in Iraq. They are also fine with certain ME states becoming completely dysfunctional if that serves a broader geopolitical goal.
US was more than willing to provide large financial aid to al-Khattab's Chechen war against Russia. And it happened in the balkans too. It just depends on the geopolitical calculus , its kinda impressive honestly. You can find them closely cooperating with organizations that they themselves labeled "terrorist" .
Super_Sherbet_268@reddit
yes, I 100 percent agree. It's a fking shit show.
AstropathicRelay@reddit
I find what happened in Iraq especially funny ( in a tragic way ) . First they support Saddam in his war against Iran. Then they turn against Saddam and destroy Iraq in the process but as a result bring shia (and some Iran aligned) factions in control of it . Realizing the folly of their actions they try to support certain suni factions . It massively backfires and now they have to align with shia militias to defeat suni terrorist groups once again while also being attacked by shia militias in Iraq and having to risk being "order 66d" by their current allies against ISIS and Al Quaeda.
Like just lol . Its honestly funny how everything they do eventually backfires and US is just stuck in a perpetual quagmire trying to manage different factions. I just wish the average US citizen could appreciate the game that's going on here. Might even justify the trillion dollar tax expenditure . Well at least until the printing press breaks .
