Why bring kids? I already loathe people that bring their kids to breweys, or bars that have a outside area for smokers.

Chocolate Secrets on Oak Lawn has live jazz on weekends, and though there is a $25 minimum, I don’t think there’s an age limit

Reveler’s hall on the weekends. Starts at 2. Get there early to get seats. It’s NOLA style jazz. They serve food.

here’s a “blues” events calendar that also has most or all of the jazz shows on it

Not a bar - but my dad and I used to go to Jazz at the Dallas Museum of Art when I was younger. It does cost the admission fee but you also get to see cool art.

Triumph is great, balcony club is great, I think Reveler’s Hall and Freeman are good B tier options for jazz. Windmills in frisco is really nice, so is Kitchen Cafe in Addison

Lots of people bring their kids to the freeman. I'm a jazz musician and I played a set for brunch today and there were people with kids. I know the freeman can be kind of crazy but most of that crazy shit happens after hours on like a Friday or Saturday.

most jazz spots in Dallas gonna be 21+ after certain hours but you might wanna check some restaurants that have jazz nights instead 🎷 places like that usually more family friendly and kids can still get the vibe without the bar restrictions. maybe call ahead and ask about their age policy for evening shows 😊
