Motherboard died on my old media production rig, whats worth keeping?

My rig's motherboard finally died after 12+ years of heavy use. I'm looking for advice on what's worth keeping on the rig and what is worth upgrading. It was originally built for high res raw photo and video editing, 3D modeling, as well gaming.
Now I just need it to handle high res raw photo editing (adobe lightroom / photoshop) and gaming (ideally handle new games at a decent quality). Would just getting a new motherboard be fine? I imagine at the least I should get some new storage and a power supply, but I'm so out of touch with computer specs these days.
Recommendations on upgrades and full builds would be appreciated as well.

CPU, MOBO and cooler are long overdue - to save your money on RAM i would go for a 14600K/14700K with a B760 DDR4 and a new 360mm AIO (old one probably is full of gunk). A new GPU would be a good idea and a new M.2 NVMe storage. With your budget in mind (approximating 800$ for CPU, MOBO and cooler) you could go for a 5080 or if you want to spare some money then RX 9070 XT would be a good idea. Still you should have some spare budget for 1TB or 2TB NVMe SSD (3rd, 4th or 5th gen. are all good but with video editing in mind I would go for a good 4th gen drive such as 980 Pro).

you can buy an x99 motherboard on ali express for $40.

You can save the case and PSU. Everything else I would recommend junking. It’s too ancient for a decent drop in upgrade like a quick cpu replacement but you need to replace the motherboard due to failure.
If you are close to a Microcenter I would take a look to see what’s cheaper. Also look at possible prebuilts since they maybe cheaper then doing a custom built one.

What’s your budget ?

Depends on how out of date things are and need to be upgraded but I'd like to keep it under $2500. Good question though, I should have added it to my original post.

RAM is stupidly expensive right now, so either replace the motherboard and keep using your current system or reuse the RAM on a new DDR4 build.
Off hand the per core performance of your build is close to a 2nd gen Ryzen when it came to gaming, no idea how it fairs compared to Ryzen with your usage though. But that should give you a quick idea of how far we have come as you can go a few generations higher than that on an AM4 board. Intel is also an option with a DDR4 build but I haven't kept track of them too much in the past few years to comment too much about it.
I would replace the heatsink while your at it. You can get a Peerless Assassin with a single or dual tower setup for fairly cheap that can handle about anything on the market.
