Is Walmart Xkjqta ebike a scam?

There are a bunch of articles online about this thousand dollar ebike being only 300. The name of the company is sketchy, and idk anything about bikes. Is it an actual good deal or a scam?

Besides the disposable brand name being a red flag the other thing people don’t seems to understand is this is not a “Walmart” bike. It’s a third party seller using Walmarts online marketplace. It’s not even shipped by them. Walmart in no way stands behind the product or backs up the transaction.
Walmart actually does sell Ebikes that you should consider if you are looking for a dirt cheap ebike. They are in no way good bikes but they at least offer you the ability to return the bike or have a warranty enforced if you have some sort of premature issue.

I think it’s sold out but it is an insanely good deal. Bike was overpriced at 1099 and it’s a lot of cheap components and parts. But at $289 it’s just an amazing deal. Probably not going to get you thousands of miles but again - at $289 it’s damn bear disposable. The battery is certified and decent, motor (750w!), and frame are decent. Shocks, gears, suspension, are cheap. The brakes are borderline dangerous for a 94lb bike.
But hell - at $280 it’s almost worth buying just to get around and not stress about it being stolen.

Lets get disposable ebikes? Fuck Earth. We are so fucked if this is anyone's mindset.

How much money do you have to waste my paycheck is less than 1200 a month my rent is 683 dollars a month a single tabk of gas in my car is 64 dollars right now which will last me a third of the month i work 8 hours a day 5 days a week So unless you want to pay for my gas or help buy me a more expensive longer lasting bike i cant afford to worry about the environment AND survive

Nobody is asking you to spend all your money. You choose to buy a disposable bike, that is clearly a scam and will likely break quickly, instead of looking at other options like buying a decent used bike.
I get you can't afford to think about the environment but imagine if millions of people around the world have this mindset instead of looking for more reliable solutions.

Not sure why you think it’s a scam. Walmart has sold out of these twice in the last few weeks. While fairly small on AH the battery is pretty good. The battery and mounting plate alone are worth about $200 and could most likely used as a range extender on other bikes. The shimano gears are pretty much what’s offered on most DTC bikes that are priced over $1000. The only real sacrifice is the disc brakes which could be upgraded for about $50-$100.

Ok lets run this through i can buy the disposable bike for a few thousand miles done and good OR i can try to save up for a better longer lasting bike... oh wait all that saved money is eaten by gas for my car and oil because its leaking and i cant afford valve covers so i cant save for an expensive bike

At least you can refund it to Walmart later.

I bought 1 of those mid drive bikes from wal-mart online. It’s not to bad. I paid like $300 for it .. it nowhere as cool at my 3-4k specialized. I bit less power and narrower tired and cheaper conponents. And no hydraulics in the dial breaks but everything is serviceable. And a person could always upgrade the parts that are really important to them

Well, the articles about this bike are sketchy as hell. They’re all from “commerce writers”, have similar titles, and similar article formats (“Why shoppers love it” and “Shop more deals”). It’s likely that the articles are from the same media company, or the seller paid a service to have all of these articles sent out, or both.
Meanwhile the bike itself reads like temu deal from a factory who typically sells bikes to trading companies. It might not be a scam, but it also wasn’t worth $1K when it was produced. It was made to be sold at around the $350-400 price range, and you can probably find something similar on Temu, possibly for cheaper.
Chinese bikes at $1K are significantly better than this. They sport hydraulic brakes, significantly larger batteries, and usually, certification to UL2849 from a legitimate lab rather than a simple lab test from another Chinese company like this bike has probably gone through.
Overall, look for a $3-400 dollar bike from a more legitimate brand if that’s all you can afford like the Concords or the Funhang, they won’t be as sketchy .

If you can't approximately pronounce it using your human tongue, it's a scam.

If it's just a bunch of random letters together. And it sounds too good to be true, it is too good to be true.
