GoodOlSpence@reddit
Faxandu was so sick, way ahead of its time
pickledpeachesforall@reddit
I tried and tried but could never beat it.
iliveonramen@reddit
To save the game didn’t you have to write down like a 25 character code?
GoodOlSpence@reddit
Correct
iliveonramen@reddit
I remember me and my brother screwing that up a few times. We had sheets of paper everywhere with codes written down.
It was a fun game
gravteck@reddit
That's what it was called Faxanadu! This was in the group of first games we got that Christmas, and it took half a day as a first grader to just get through the gate! This game was actually pretty wild and had save codes. Still no clue what it was about. I think my brother and I got close to beating it, but it was probably a lot for us.
BlankSlate59@reddit
I love Faxanadu, I still play it on emulator once in a while. Definitely one of the reasons that I fell in love with the RPG genre.
pmo0710@reddit
I always find it out that Legacy of the Wizard is technically it’s sequel but was released first in Japan and North America.
soundbombing@reddit
Really?! Shit, I loved both games, but was young and never made the connection.
DifficultMinute@reddit
I still remember farming in shifts with my cousins one afternoon to buy the death magic and magic shield at the start of the game.
None of us had actually beaten the game before (though we'd gotten pretty far) and figured that those items would be a huge help towards letting us get further.
The magic shield was cool, but we were very disappointed by the death magic just being a little spiky ball that took most of our magic.
Eledridan@reddit
The original Soulslike.
NOgodEVER@reddit
Deluge!!!!
clan23@reddit
I am free from injury because of the ointment
ElJeferox@reddit
You have acquired the mattock!
jasonreid1976@reddit
Believe me when I say this but the music in that game randomly plays in my head.
It was THAT GOOD.
LiveFree_NeverDie603@reddit
Loved this game , literally just thinking about it yesterday. Couldn’t remember the name , I know it was something like that . So glad I saw this.
toasterb@reddit
Based on what I’d read in Nintendo Power, I so badly wanted to play Faxanadu, but i never actually saw it in the wild.
Nobody I knew had it, and I never saw it at a video rental store. I should fire up the rom and give it a go.
daemon_afro@reddit
I had it and was too young to understand it. Got it running on my 3ds and got way farther than past me ever did. Solid game but still challenging.
Normal512@reddit
It's the game I always think of when people ask about nostalgic games, I play it on a rom on occasion still, but I keep hoping the rights are sold to someone who will make a modern port for the classic nes games or similar.
djseifer@reddit
It was made by Hudson, who is now owned by Konami, so sadly, that's never going to happen.
Furballprotector@reddit
I was the only kid I knew that loved deja Vu
vlazuvius@reddit
It’s a defining game for me.
jamlog@reddit
I liked that it didn't have a countdown timer like the Uninvited's curse.
Kim_Smoltz_@reddit
Déjà vu!
caliber1077@reddit
I’ve just been in this place before
2Eyed@reddit
What other NES game let you drug people in their sleep to get confessions out of them and then allowed you to punch them!?
InGroundSprinklers@reddit
The music is forever burned into my brain.
Dildo_Shw4ggins@reddit
My friend and I loved Deja Vu and Shadowgate. We both grew up playing a lot of point-and-click Commodore and PC games.
eastbayted@reddit
I remember loving and being creeped out by Uninvited - couple of jump scares in that one!
MrsDonaldDraper@reddit
I watched a Let’s Play of Uninvited recently and it still creeps me out😅
jeffrowitdaafro@reddit
Ufo 50 has a game called Night Manor in the collection. It's a Deja Vu/Shadowgate/Uninvited clone, and worth it alone for the one game. The other 49 games scratch other itches entirely.
PapaTua@reddit
Thats hypercard!
eastbayted@reddit
That's what the games were like on a Mac. :)
Snow_Crash_Bandicoot@reddit
Those were the World Builder games on the Mac.
jeffrowitdaafro@reddit
Ufo 50 has a game called Night Manor in the collection. It's a Deja Vu/Shadowgate clone, and worth it alone for the one game. The other 49 games scratch other itches entirely.
DrewDAMNIT@reddit
But did you love Shadowgate and Uninvited just as much?
jeffrowitdaafro@reddit
Ufo 50 has a game called Night Manor in the collection. It's a Deja Vu/Shadowgate clone, and worth it alone for the one game. The other 49 games scratch other itches entirely.

Independent_Step9574@reddit
bro - it was my favorite and I never talked about it because nobody knew what it was!
therealpopkiller@reddit
Still have mine!
1nce_Again@reddit
I loved that game. The music was awesome. I have the theme from the bar as a ringtone
Darkspiff73@reddit
I played Deja Vu on a Mac when I was a kid. It creeped me the hell out but I couldn’t stop playing it and never got through it. The random popping up characters would jump scare me and I’d usually punch them in the face or shoot them and get arrested. Or I’d always die in the sewer to the alligator. I still remember the death screen with the weird melty looking skulls.
And I’d always eat random stuff. Cigar butts were a favorite lol.
My cousins and I would get hours of entertainment out of it and just seeing what we could do.
TheBr0fessor@reddit
This and Shadowgate
mofroman@reddit
Amazing game. I couldnt get past the first like third of it when I was a kid, had to emulate it many years later.
RootHouston@reddit
Here's the problem with the list. If you are a xennial, you were too young to have played a lot of these. Sure you might've played stuff like Super Dodgeball and Blaster Master, but games like Ultima and Shadowgate were for Gen X and older.
clandahlina_redux@reddit
I played Ultima Exodus and still don’t recognize it.
BlindMouse2of3@reddit
Scrolling through those I got a serious urge to play prince of persia, pitfall, and ghouls and ghost's
askthepoolboy@reddit
Oh man. Did those games not punish you enough as a kid? lol
BlindMouse2of3@reddit
Punishment was the weekend I found out I had to beat Bubble Bobble twice.
askthepoolboy@reddit
ghouls and ghosts had to be beaten twice, too. lol.
BlindMouse2of3@reddit
I recall knowing that going into it. Bubble Bobble was a surprise at the time. Was at a friend's house and I don't recall sleeping at all that weekend.
CheeseburgerLocker@reddit
Xenophobe had a really cool cover so I bought it at a garage sale for $15. I remember getting home to try and I was like.. What is this piece of shit? You have a shitty little blaster and the jumping enemies covered so much ground. Was damn near impossible.
2DEUCE2@reddit
Damn… the only one of these games I knew was Blaster Master. Bayou Billy was a “that’s right!!” moment. I recognized it but couldn’t remember the name.
HoneyWhiskeyLemonTea@reddit
I got all but three... I didn't recognize Xenophobe, Home Alone, or Defenders of Dynatron City. 85%... sure, I'll take a solid B.
goodbye_everybody@reddit
Got me on Rush N' attack and Defenders of Dynatron City, but I knew all others. 18/20. Good quiz!
Do_it_My_Way-79@reddit
I have never heard of any of these EXCEPT, Adventures of Bayou Billy & Willow. With Willow, I actually just played it last week! I own it & always have my NES hooked up in my kid’s playroom. It is NOT easy.
VVrayth@reddit
Alright, honest to god not looking at spoiler answers or reading any other replies:
garrettux@reddit
Isn't #5 Xenophobe?
RaphaelSolo@reddit
Xenophobe was such a great game.
DetCityDaveST@reddit
Caveman Games was wild.
LegoRealtor@reddit
My favorite event was "Mate Toss."
DetCityDaveST@reddit
Button smash to swing your cavewoman around by the hair and then toss them as far as possible.
LegoRealtor@reddit
Let us not forget: if you played as the female character, you could toss your man. Perhaps Caveman Games was the proto-femenist Nintendo game?
One-Earth9294@reddit
I think about that game every time I start a fire
shakeyshake1@reddit
I only got two of them. One I guessed because I understood the characters from elsewhere.
The one I just knew somehow was Caveman Games.
rylasorta@reddit
The fire starting game always resulted in both players whacking each other and no fires getting started. Such a funny game.
Azuras_Star8@reddit
Poke vaulting where your fall is broken by rocks.
Hilaruous game.
lurker-rama@reddit
I played Lode Runner on a 5 1/4” disc.
Dave_Labels@reddit
Super Dodge Ball was amazing in the arcade.
SteveEcks@reddit
Super Dodgeball was the only one I recognized
No_Zone_4017@reddit
I was hoping to see River City Ransom in this list.
wooq@reddit
All the Kunio-kun games were awesome
askthepoolboy@reddit
I thought A Boy and His Blob would make an appearance
rob132@reddit
Urban champion if you are going really old school.
IceSmiley@reddit
Was that the popular 4 player game?
SteveEcks@reddit
I am not aware of any 4 player Nintendo game.
KingTelephone@reddit
I had the adapter. We played 4player Super Off Road and some volleyball games. I’m sure bomberman worked with it, too.
jasonrubik@reddit
Super Spike V'Ball
This is the game that I got with my Four Score adapter
IceSmiley@reddit
That's not the one but I think there was a thing called NES Advantage that had a 4 player game and it didn't do that well
djseifer@reddit
The Advantage was a joystick. There was a four player adapter, but not a lot of games supported it.
gorilla-ointment@reddit
Same for me
SparkyXI@reddit
And the best game of the bunch!
Piccoroz@reddit
Blaster master
Fair_Blood3176@reddit
It was such a blast
SteveEcks@reddit
I remember being bad at it. Classic Steve
knightlionwave@reddit
This game was so sick
Artistic_Potato_1840@reddit
I remember playing this with my siblings one day thinking it was meh, but then to our surprise we discovered the power throws and it blew our minds. Then we went about discovering all the other power throws and played the hell out of that game.
callsignViper@reddit
My friends and I came up with our own names for the moves like “disappearing ink” or “around the world”. I could toast new kids with Sam’s football.
Azuras_Star8@reddit
I temporarily traded a friend's friend my SNES Super Battletank game to my friend who was big into war games for this game, as we often did. But one day our friend moved, and we never talked again.
I still have the game.
I am still glad about it. I had many hours of fun whooping ass with those wild dodge ball blasts.
dbk1ng@reddit
Bayou Billy is hard as fuck, I never beat it
Dildo_Shw4ggins@reddit
I swear everyone I knew with a NES had that game, and everyone sucked at it.
elkniodaphs@reddit
The Japanese version is called Mad City and is significantly easier, which is interesting, because localization was usually the other way around.
Fillmore80@reddit
Why did they ship us harder games in the US?
elkniodaphs@reddit
Good question, and it makes me realize I should clarify my previous statement. There was a push in Japan to localize games for western markets by making them easier—you saw this with Super Mario Bros. 2; instead of releasing the actual SMB2 (later released as The Lost Levels), we got a re-skinned Doki Doki Panic, known in Japan as Super Mario Bros. USA. That's old news, of course. We also got easier versions of Final Fantasy II (released as FFIV), Phantasy Star II, Lufia, and many others. These tweaks usually came in the form of modified encounter rates, and boosted gold and experience points. I always thought that coddling was unnecessary, the type of people who would have bought Japanese RPGs in the '80s and '90s were likely the same type of people who mastered RPG mechanics from American PC games and D&D—the Venn Diagram is a circle. I mean, Gary Gygax lived on our side of the Atlantic.
On the other hand, some games were tweaked to be harder. Colloquially, this is because American publishers didn't want little Jimmy renting the game to conplete over a weekend, thus losing a potential sale. So, publishers had localization teams artificially ramp up the difficulty, as you see in Bayou Billy. The thought was, you'd have to own a game to put enough time into it to master, but the reality is, this didn't send us to Babbage's in droves to buy the hard thing, it usually just turned us off of the prospect completely. Don't get me wrong, a game that's hard from a result of good design is wonderful, but a game that's hard because Mr. Corpo Moneybags thinks a second '88 Testarossa would look good in his driveway is bunk.
Localization isn't a single line with a single metric, but my guess is (generally) Japanese localizers would make a game easier, while western localizers would make a game harder. There will always be exceptions to the rule, but my intuition tells me this is a very general case.
Fillmore80@reddit
I was going to say it's well known that almost every game Konami shipped to the US including their arcade cabinets were far more difficult in the US than their Japanese counterparts. Just as an example. Localization was weird in the 80s/90s.
pmo0710@reddit
Yeah Konami had a habit of doing as Castlevania 3 in Japan was also a bit easier especially since Grant had a ranged attack.
GivenToSigh@reddit
Don’t feel bad Captain N couldn’t beat it either
therealpopkiller@reddit
I never got to play it but man I wanted to so badly
Artistic_Potato_1840@reddit
We even tried beating it with the game genie. Still couldn’t beat it. Game was impossible.
Primedirector3@reddit
Rush N attack was the first Nintendo game I got. Thought it was “Russian attack” as a kid.
Daytonewheel@reddit
To this day I still think that.
FatalisDrakari@reddit
I had several of these back in the day. Faxanadu was confusing as hell, and Shadowgate gave me nightmares as a kid. I got 16/20.
TheBumpCard@reddit
Nightshade was really complex for this time.
tampapunklegend@reddit
The only one I recognized was the worst one- Friday the 13th.
gravteck@reddit
That's what it was called Faxanadu! This was in the group of first games we got that Christmas, and it took a couple days as a first grader to just get through the gate! This game was actually pretty wild and had save codes. Still no clue what it was about. I think my brother and I got close to beating it, but it was probably a lot for us.
disappointedCoati@reddit
Omg #13… he was like a fire breathing Russian guy, right? And I think I see Spy vs Spy…
PiMacleod@reddit
I'll settle for my paltry 11. Happy enough with that.
NiceTuBeNice@reddit
I only got 6.
IchibanChef@reddit
I have played 3, 8, 9, 11, 14, 15, 16, 17, and 20. I have never heard of most of the others.
LenaiaLocke@reddit
Spy vs. Spy
Faxanadu
That’s all I got! :( and I’m 40…
AntiqueCandidate7995@reddit
Blaster Master needs a remaster!! Loved that game.
ringobob@reddit
A Master Blaster remaster? Sounds like a disaster.
jasonrubik@reddit
That reminds me of John Jacob Astor
hamburgler26@reddit
Not sure it qualifies as a "remaster" but there is a modern remake of sorts that seems to get good reviews:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1034900/Blaster_Master_Zero/
vertigostereo@reddit
That looks pretty cool, but I am just not good enough to play hard games anymore.
brakeb@reddit
and two additional blaster master games, it seems...
HuckleberryLogical63@reddit
They're really good.
brodievonorchard@reddit
Are they less insanely unforgiving than playing on NES?
HuckleberryLogical63@reddit
Absolutely. They're tough, but there's a lot of qol improvements including save points lol.
brodievonorchard@reddit
Over the course of like 20 years there were a few occasions where I became determined to finally beat this game. I got very far every time, but always got too frustrated to ever beat it.
PNW_Uncle_Iroh@reddit
I was never able to beat it without the game genie. Got crazy hard.
brodievonorchard@reddit
It gets really interesting late game, but things keep getting more difficult and resources are always scarce. If you take too much damage on something trivial, it makes it nearly impossible to get past the really hard parts.
Darkspiff73@reddit
Oh my god, thank you! That was one of my favorite NES games and I can’t wait to try it again!
krillthemalll@reddit
Ugh but its anime style art work. Gross
uncertia@reddit
Freaking loved that game.
EndlessNerd@reddit
I remember the game pause exploit that made boss fights super easy
dudebomb@reddit
Lol, yep. Trivialized bosses 😆
Normal512@reddit
"Master Blaster" in our friend group and it's always stuck. My neighbor had the game for over a year before one of us pointed out it was "Blaster Master" instead.
Slammnardo@reddit
Nightshade is a low key banger
Loved Deja Vu. I think I can legit speed run for record Shadowgate I played it so many times.
Joseph_Kickass@reddit
What's the volleyball one with the crew from River City Ransom?
cointerm@reddit
Nice list, dude. Good mix of popular ones to "Where the hell did this guy remember that?" I beat Battle of Olympus and completely forgot about it.
scratchfury@reddit
I still remember walking upside down.
Spazzrico@reddit
Battle of Olympus was the only one I owned on this list. I think it’s all but forgotten now but it was such a great game.
Appropriate-Diver301@reddit
Only one, sad. But this was curated to games I simply didn't play and is missing the ones I did.
flaneur-terrestre@reddit
The1Zenith@reddit
Blaster Master, Xenophobe, Super Dodgeball(that game was awesome), and Spy vs Spy. I was poor and the majority of my games came from the pawn shop.
PuzzledKumquat@reddit
Exactly zero. I guess my Xennial card should be revoked.
CasualBi24@reddit
North & South
Karnov
Blaster Master
Nightmare on Elm Street
Dodge Ball
Elevator Action?
Zevious
Mad (spy vs spy)
Caveman Games
Rushin' Attack
Troyificus@reddit
Disappointed by the lack of Solar Jet Man. Feels like I'm the only person who ever played that one 😂
MasterPhilip@reddit
I got five.
Poopy-Drew@reddit
I saw my favorite, caveman games! And north vs south
sabo81@reddit
I loved playing Super Dodgeball
Polite__Troll@reddit
Blaster Master ❤️
oneeyedwillienelson@reddit
North Vs South was a fun game
Mall_of_slime@reddit
Yeah I loved it. Remember asking my parents to rent it a bunch. It was as a little kid plying this game that I learned the British provided assistance to the Confederates during the civil war.
SlobZombie13@reddit
Gotta get that sweet sweet cotton!
rob132@reddit
I believe a speedrunner beat it in less than a minute.
--Quartz--@reddit
That was the one I was missing!!
I remember most of these games, but not their names.
This one I had completely forgotten about until I saw the image, and really wanted the name!
Razorshroud@reddit
Genuinely great family fun. I know it sounds cheesy, but it's textbook!
WingbashDefender@reddit
It was. They should bring that back on emulator
FuckYouNotHappening@reddit
Bayou Billy is the only one I recognized.
PoisonMind@reddit
10 but I miremembered Shadowgate as Shadowrun. Was that a different game?
BigDaddyHadley@reddit
Only didn't recognize 16 & 17
dexbadger@reddit
Willow. That was one of the games I owned. It was partial responsible for my love of rpg type games
Solintari@reddit
The OST was so good that it still randomly pops in my head some days.
Dooooo do do do do do dooooooo 🎵
FortunateSon77@reddit
The music was outstanding, I remember. The game itself was so fun, I really enjoyed getting all the swords and exploring
Normal512@reddit
Same here, really a great game that's probably underrated.
neatoburrito@reddit
It was the first game I used graph paper to map out the dungeons, in my memory that game was fun but confusing as hell at first.
Perfect-Factor-2928@reddit
Did anyone else like Bubble Bobble or Dr. Mario?
icybowler3442@reddit
I got bubble bobble for Christmas one year and it worked for two days and then the cartridge died. The only cartridge I ever had that died.
lo-key-glass@reddit
Dr Mario was huge in our house. Last Xmas I bought my sister a plug and play emulator so she could play it.
eastbayted@reddit
I was obsessed with Bubble Bobble and the theme song was an earworm for me.
pimpcakes@reddit
Bubble Bobble two player is an elite game. Great for two players, too
LegoRealtor@reddit
I still love Dr. Mario! I pulled out the emulator and played it all last weekend.
wonkasmiata@reddit
i got 5 of them
Intelligent-Camera90@reddit
I didn’t recognize any of them! I was an Excitebike/California Games/M.U.L.E/Princess Tomato and the Salad Kingdom kid.
Oh…and Wall Street Kid.
jar36@reddit
I remember the arcade version of Rush n' Attack was better and spy vs spy was great fun. was just thinking about that game last week
aenflex@reddit
Xenophobia
Devium44@reddit
For some reason, Xenophobe was the second game I got after the Mario/Duck Hunt. I never knew what it was about and rarely played it. Then one day my friend and I decided we were going to try and beat it. we played all day and got pretty far but it seemed like it would never end. I forgot about that game.
raisedbypoubelle@reddit
T&C Surf Designs! (Came here for the Déjà vu. I was obsessed)
Negative-Squirrel81@reddit
17 out of 20, missed Xenophobe, Home Alone and Defenders of Dynatrpn.
Caveman Games sure was a blast from the past. That’s exactly the kind of game you rent once from Blockbusters and still regret it many years later.
JASCO47@reddit
I have Blaster Master, Super Dodge Ball, Willow and Faxanadu
ringobob@reddit
The only one of these I actually owned was Super Dodge Ball. I had a friend who had Spy vs Spy. I don't think I recognize any of the others.
collinwade@reddit
Bayou Billy!
Diva_Bot@reddit
I loved Karnov but I never finished it.
humanist-misanthrope@reddit
Ditto. I know I played quite a lot but I was never able to go very far in it. I kept trying though.
batmansupraman@reddit
Only 4, that was pretty tough.
Super Dodgeball, Bayou Billy, Friday the 13th, Faxanadu
KrayzieBone187@reddit
Friday the 13th terrified me as a kid. We used to play it in my cousins dark basement.
BlackestHerring@reddit
I loved Caveman games, super dodgeball, and nightshade. Home alone sucked ass.
sleeperninja@reddit
I recognized Blaster Master, Bayou Billy, The Kunio Kun Dodgeball game (wrong name, I’m certain), Karnov, and Spy v Spy. Rest I’m not even sure I’d seen before, and definitely didn’t get to rent.
csilvmatecc@reddit
Faxanadu (my favorite NES game), Nightshade, Deja Vu, Willow, Spy vs Spy, Adventures of Bayou Billy, Super Dodgeball, Caveman Games, and Blaster Master are the ones I recognize and/or have actually played.
jaxsonMiss@reddit
Only 7/20 with 100% confidence. Lucky guess on Faxanadu and Rush'n'Attack.
Some pretty obscure games here. I remember a friend brought in North and South to play in school when we were studying the Civil War in 5th grade. I thought it was a lot of fun but it could be only due to the environment.
RalphWaldoEmers0n@reddit
North vs South is still fun
ex_gratia_@reddit
Master Blaster and Bayou Billy were sick games. I was disappointed to not see a screenshot from Battletoads though
MzunguMjinga@reddit
Spy vs Spy was so much fun to trash talk to.
Sweenbot@reddit
I got Dejavu, Caveman Games, Shadowgate and Nightshade. Nightshade was such a cool weird game.
MidgarZanarkand@reddit
I didn’t get any of these and somehow didn’t play any of these but there were a ton of other obscure NES games that I loved. Amagon, Fester’s Quest, Dynowarz, Golgo 13, Elevator Action, and some others I’m probably forgetting.
Shinespark7@reddit
I remember playing Rush'n Attack at Fuddruckers
Cisru711@reddit
Yeah, I knew that mostly from the bowling alley.
VixxenFoxx@reddit
I played the absolute crap out of Blaster Master. And I always called it Master Blaster cause it sounds better.
CReeseRozz@reddit
8 Super Dodgeball was my jam. Randy threw a knuckleball that always reminded me of pizza dough for some reason.
Sorry_Challenge_4179@reddit
Someone please tell me what number 4 is! I don't own it but I must have rented it back in the day. It looks so familiar!
Sorry_Challenge_4179@reddit
NVM I see the list now lol but thanks you definitely unlocked something
Matty_D47@reddit
I played Deja vu so many times
Hossflex@reddit
Karnov!!! My friends and I all had it and we had it for the same reason… because a T-Rex was on the cover lol.
OriginalLock6562@reddit
*you
vasectomy7@reddit
Heirloom in my bedroom!
helikophis@reddit
I hated Xenophobe passionately
andddmiller@reddit
Master Blaster ❤️
SirClarkus@reddit
Oh man, Caveman Games!
I haven't thought about that game in AGES!
I also loved Deja Vu, the continue screen was fantastic.
elkniodaphs@reddit
I identified all of them, but the NES is my favorite console and I still play it regularly. All of this is fresh in my mind.
Same_Bug5069@reddit
Mam, spy vs spy was so good
marbotty@reddit
It was fantastic. (And the only one I recognized.)
Same_Bug5069@reddit
I remember MAD TV had a spy vs spy cartoon segment.
askthepoolboy@reddit
I loved that game so much.
Atillion@reddit
Caveman Games hahaha
JasonIsCurious@reddit
Is one of them Spy Vs Spy? Not familiar with most, but would love the opportunity to play them.
MapleToque@reddit
I only knew 7, 10, and 11.
-NigheanDonn@reddit
No one else has ever heard of caveman games. My brother and I had just discovered it and loved playing it when my dad took the Nintendo to the pawn shop. He promised he would get it again but never did.
Seldarin@reddit
I recognized all but Caveman games, Home Alone, and Lode Runner.
Bayou Billy was by far the hardest one on the list, because it felt like multiple games mashed into one. "Oh, are you good at side scrolling beat 'em ups? Well enjoy this random fucking driving level that you'll struggle to beat, and if you do beat it, 4 stages later we'll hit you with another one that's ten times as hard."
I'm convinced that game was made by people that hated children. "And the jeep throws grenades! Hahaha! Suffer you little bastards!"
No-Swordfish-1763@reddit
Deja Vu!!!
scargods@reddit
Nightshade is impossible
boilerdawg31@reddit
None because my parents would only get us games for our Atari 2600 and then a Coleco that our uncle handed down to us.
Have played Dodgeball on my Switch, that one's fun.
One-Earth9294@reddit
Blaster Master, Caveman Games, North Vs South, Dodgeball, Bayou Billy, Spy Vs Spy
And surprisingly that's it off this list. I'm sure the spoilers will make me go 'oh yeah' plenty.
Mall_of_slime@reddit
God I loved North and South.
legsjohnson@reddit
I was a little more Mario/Adventure Island/Bubble Bobble oriented
shinbreaker@reddit
Missed 6, 7, 18 and 19 because I never played them or even saw screenshots
backtheduckup@reddit
Caveman games and "north and south" I recognize
frougle_mcdugal@reddit
Battle of Olympus and Willow sightings. Nice
SweetCosmicPope@reddit
Only ones I recognized were F13, Dynotron City, and Master Blaster. Fun games too!
LordButtworth@reddit
I saw Blaster Master and Willow. Idk the rest of them.
LeftOn4ya@reddit
None! I have never played any of these games nor remember even seeing advertisements for pretty much any of them with the exception of Spy vs Spy as I was an avid Mad Magazine fan.
Bulky_Goat_9624@reddit
Blaster Master, Karnov and Battle of Olympus were a few favorites!
TheDukeofArgyll@reddit
This is a S-tier Xennial post, well done.
ARagingZephyr@reddit
I don't think I've ever seen 19 before, which is the only one I didn't know.
CplHicks_LV426@reddit
I only got five. :(
RoundTheBend6@reddit
I only really owned Mario, Duck hunt, and mission impossible.
My friend had a cool wrestling game. Zelda.
That’s the thing most people in our generation had like 3 things. 500 cds as a teen, unheard of.
fingerling-broccoli@reddit
Dodge ball and spy vs spy are the only ones I played
IceSmiley@reddit
That's a funny quiz, the only one I knew was Spy vs Spy, awesome game and I still remember their evil little laugh when they kill someone 🤣
Ltimbo@reddit
I got 6 of these and I’m a gamer. Excellent list idea. Please do more of these if you’re up to it.
BogOBones@reddit
About half of them.
I loved Shadowgate. The music from it was especially great. Some of it reminds me of Erik Satie's Gnossienne pieces.
GarminTamzarian@reddit
As much as the interface absolutely screams for a mouse, the music alone is enough to make the NES version of Shadowgate the definitive version.
Googirlee@reddit
Came for the Deja Vu, stayed for the Shadowgate
WinnieTheEeyore@reddit
Love Spy vs Spy. It would be great today.
a-ha_partridge@reddit
My friends and I had a blast trying to play through shadowgate together recently. Game was so rad.

Cave man games was one of my faves!
Remote_Independent50@reddit
I got 11, but i just thought "Bayou Billy" not "adventure of"
mjdubs@reddit
Karnov!
bigpoppa973@reddit
Weird coincidence. I was just watching Alien:Earth and I got to thinking about Xenophobe. I haven’t played it in so long. It was so much fun! I played the hell out of that one and Spy vs Spy.
deansredhalo@reddit
Absolutely LOVED Deja Vu, North & South, Spy vs Spy and Faxanadu. Also loved Friday the 13th but damn the sheer anxiety it gave of waiting for Jason to pop up.
aaronwintergreen@reddit
I got 7
RickHuf@reddit
I have daja vu, Friday the 13th and faxanadu. Caveman games was cool I haven't seen that in forever. A lot of the others I don't know actually.
chargoggagog@reddit
Only got Spy vs Spy
The-Get-Along-Gang@reddit
Aww! Deja Vu and Exodus Ultima! All-time favorites!
Zeke688@reddit
The one in the swamp seems familiar. Can’t for the life of me remember the name.
SensitiveArtist@reddit
The adventures of bayou billy
Zeke688@reddit
Damn, I obviously didn’t look at the rest of the post. 🤦🏻♂️
weedtrek@reddit
I have only played two of these. I was more main stream, Mega man, Kirby, punch out, Battle toads, Double Dragon, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles-the horrible one and the arcade ports, zelda, mario, duck hunt, track and field, skate or die 1 & 2, Bubble Bobble, Contra, NARC, Batman, Bart vs The Space Mutants, Fantasy Zone, Castlevania, rampage, Hoops, Ducktails, Black Bass, Top Gun, that's all I can think of right now.
dwreckhatesyou@reddit
This is a fun post. Do more of these.
OkCryptographer2479@reddit
Friday the 13th had a musical score that would jump scare me when Jason would pop out when I was like 8 years old.
The_Fell_Opian@reddit
Once overheard at the mall in a thick Eastern European accent: "I'm not going to buy you Billy."
seanzthekid@reddit
I got Defenders of Dynatron City at a garage sale as a kid and it became one of my favorite games! Gonna have to dust off the ol' NES one of these days...
WasteOfBerries@reddit
I'm torn between feeling get the fuck outta my head, and, marry me and we'll never leave the house; I'll make food.
Final-Entertainer807@reddit
Punch the mugger.
maxpowerdj@reddit
Only 3 Sockos because the 4th will cost you.
CountVanillula@reddit
Bayou Billy with the heavy balls?
HuckleberryLogical63@reddit
Didn't know 5-7, knew all the rest, NES is still one of my favorite systems and sees regular play, spent part of Friday night playing zapper games.

My heart beats in 8 bits
MikeZenberthy@reddit
Thank you for posting this, you took me back!
CdnGuy@reddit
I was pretty young when we got our NES and I only recognize a couple - lode runner and dodgeball. Brings back memories of bonding time with dad though. We rented soooo many random games, I think we only paid like a couple bucks for a weekend.
Professional-Loss743@reddit
Super cutty games…impressive

WOW! That’s all I can say
