Best tasting menu in Dallas?

I’ll be in Dallas soon and was hoping to try some great food. Please let me know if any recommendations! Prefer to stay away from omakase style experiences if possible. I prefer multi course tasting menus but open to all recommendations!

Most recently my husband and I went to Quarter Acre and their tasting menu was excellent. Good amount of food and pretty decent value as far as tasting menus go. Maybe the most well-cooked lamb I've had in recent memory. A few years ago we also tried Purepecha which is the chef's kitchen table/back room tasting menu experience at Revolver Taco Lounge, and the vibe is abuela's home kitchen with up to 8 guests around a communal table. All the food we tried was great and we were super stuffed at the end. Not sure how soon "soon" is for you, but if you happen to be around on a weekend whenever Fond is doing one of its "After Dark" tasting menu series, Chefs Jennie and Brandon are always experimenting with cool things in their kitchen and it's also set at one long communal dining table so you get to meet new people while dining.

thank you so much for these recs! Quarter Acre and MABO both look great! I am definitely going to Quarter Acre, it looks like they have exactly what I was looking for. Thanks again!

Also, I know you said no omakase-style; I'm not sure if it's the more austere/counter seating vibe you're not into or just sushi in general, but we really love MABO. It's yakitori-focused so only maybe one or two course of raw fish while the main portion of the meal is skewers. It's pricey but the skewers we had there were on par with ones at tasting menus in Japan, so if you're into that I also highly recommend!

If you are going to Dallas, visit Uchi where you can avoid omakase and opt for ala carte menu.

It seems the dining scene in Austin and Dallas changes very frequently! I was surprised at how many good places have closed, and how many new places are opening. It’s like a whole new experience every time I come!

Thank you!

I figure menus with a low amount of high quality ink will taste the best. Organic paper too.
