Shrinkflation is real š
I_might_be_weasel@reddit
What doneness did you order and what did it come as?
SllepsCigam@reddit (OP)
Medium rare and it was definitely well done š
FLOHTX@reddit
You can send those back ya know
ThatGuyFrom720@reddit
I would force customers to let me fix their steaks for them back when I was serving in school surprisingly not that long ago.
Theyād say āoh no itās not a big dealā and Iād pretty much twist their arm til they gave it to me to make it right. Granted I only did that if they ordered MR and got like MW or WD.
Times are tough bro. Take your WD steak home with you and enjoy your fresh MR one in the restaurant.
metalguy91@reddit
While my hair greyed at the line āIām a bit older (late 20s)ā, I respect and applaud a chef who truly wants to make the right food for people and take pride in their work. Seeing other people enjoy a dish is the whole reason I enjoy cooking and earlier in life worked in the industry. Kudos man, donāt let that change.

The world would be better off if everyone could see each others perspective. Serving good food to people made me happy. Appreciate you boss!
pissbucket94@reddit
that was a lot of stuff to say but my impression was that u are a cool guy just looking out for the people
anon210202@reddit
It's really not a lot at all, people's brains are just rotted.
ThatGuyFrom720@reddit
Iām a man of the people, Mr. pissbucket94
pissbucket94@reddit
the pleasure is mine. and please - call me Bucket
letstalkaboutfeels@reddit
Piss was my father's name.
DistinctAd3222@reddit
I call you PB in bed is that still ok?
pissbucket94@reddit
yes
Deprestion@reddit
I had a manager like you approach me and my wife. Ordered mr, steak came out mooing. They insisted to take it, so we let them. Came back well done. Told them. They made a new steak, came out mooing. We just took the rare steak home and cooked it more lol
CharlieSheenGod@reddit
ThatGuyFrom720@reddit
Gimme ur fuckin overcooked steak or itās time to wrassle lil bro
khamir-ubitch@reddit
Curious, but what happens to the steaks that come out more cooked than requested and/or dishes that were accidentally made in place of another order?.
Thanks for sharing.
ThatGuyFrom720@reddit
Sure. I worked at one of the nicer chain steakhouses, but if itās undercooked, we just throw it back on the grill and return it to the customer. Overcooked ones, the customer is more than welcome to keep it. They donāt get taken and thrown away.
As far as accidental orders, those usually get tossed. But, if they havenāt been touched by the customer, sometimes the wait staff will snack on it.
I really enjoyed restaurant work but it was always just a side gig for me. Itās a lifesaver while in school. I always have nothing but respect for them as well.
hgrub@reddit
What happen to steak people send back? Do you have to discard them or worker can have them?
ThatGuyFrom720@reddit
If itās undercooked, it goes on the grill, then back to the customer. If itās overcooked and we need to make a new one, the customer is welcome to keep the steak if they want.
BoardsofCanada3@reddit
Ngl I'd imagine people don't want to send it back cause they fully expect a trash can special or them to spit in it.
ThatGuyFrom720@reddit
Far from the truth my friend. Unless youāre at some shithole diner in rural Arkansas. Then perhaps.
gsfgf@reddit
Rural diners slap and take hospitality incredibly seriously. They for damn sure want to get your order right.
BoardsofCanada3@reddit
I don't realistically believe it either but a busy kitchen with someone returning something cause it's not perfect, getting frustrated... I wouldn't return food, cause of the implication.Ā
ThatGuyFrom720@reddit
The implication that 10 grown men would circle jerk into your burger? Lmao. Youāre good bud. Iām just stating my experience. I donāt want people to eat something that was way over or undercooked. Iām just one guy on the internet haha.
MrBeverly@reddit
I respect the mindset of this, but some people just aren't that fussy and once the food is out, they're don't want to feel like the rest of the table is waiting on them while they get their food remade
juicy0227@reddit
Lmao you're still a kid bro
ThatGuyFrom720@reddit
ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø
lilacs_and_marigolds@reddit
You can get your food spat on also.
Savings_Ad384@reddit
Yeah if youāre a dick about it- but come on if Iām paying $30 for a steak itās gotta come out how I want it
IveChangedDontBanMe@reddit
Not when the staff are underpaid, overworked, and treated like shit. Working in a kitchen can be hard. I donāt ever risk sending shit back unless itās a health concern. You do you but Iād rather not eat someoneās pubes.
TySly5v@reddit
If you're not willing to eat a pube here and there, just stay home
I_might_be_weasel@reddit
Food quality aside, for $30 I'd better be getting a lot more food than that. That picture has "Two entrees for $20 special" energy.
brohemien-rhapsody@reddit
Thatās basically what this is. I think itās like 12.99 with a second side
BKlounge93@reddit
Iām really not sure thatās as big a thing as people think. Most servers/kitchen staff arenāt willing to risk their job for one loogie.
potliquorz@reddit
It happens but it's not common. People that say it never happens anywhere and the other ones that act like it's every place they go, two sides of a wrong coin.
potliquorz@reddit
You can but if they actually screwed up TR is pretty good about fixing it without attidude.
It's not IHOP.
benson-and-stapler@reddit
Fuck that I'll eat spit food for tx roadhouse prices. for fucking any price, I'm too poor to care about not being a burden lol
pretty-late-machine@reddit
I've worked with some nasty and vengeful motherfuckers and have never seen that. No one wants to make a customer sick or cause them actual physical pain, besides a psychopath, and I frankly don't think a psychopath would last long in that profession. Server vengeance is just expert-level pettiness.
youtocin@reddit
Imagine going to jail for food tampering over having to do your job with a modicum of quality.
CoconutxKitten@reddit
Who is spitting on someoneās food for sending it back if itās wrong? As long as you arenāt rude, Iāve never had an issue
mothzilla@reddit
You were well done.
Tomj_Oad@reddit
7 fries and a steak the size of a doorknob?
How much did you pay?
SllepsCigam@reddit (OP)
They wanted to charge me $20 something bucks for this lovely plate

Tomj_Oad@reddit
That's not worth it by the oz
SaltBrother2914@reddit
Why is op acting like this is a normal portion and not a kids portion for some weird reason? Did you need to be a shrinflation victim by any means necessary? lol wtf
SllepsCigam@reddit (OP)
https://imgur.com/a/ZIAUOon
SllepsCigam@reddit (OP)
I absolutely don't think this is a normal portion whatsoever lol.
I got shafted and they replaced my meal with a kids meal or something and just posted because it's funny...what makes you think I'm trying to make myself a victim š
SaltBrother2914@reddit
Because you conveniently left out that it was a kids meal and tried to pretend that was a normal adult serving for 20+ dollars.
SllepsCigam@reddit (OP)
Brother I don't have kids and I simply went to lunch with my wife and ordered a steak with fries and a Caesar salad. This is what they gave me and they even forgot our appetizer it's nothing more than shitty service at a new TRs.
You're really reaching here but whatever have a good day lol
overabbreviator@reddit
One of the more edible posts on this sub.
Princess_Slagathor@reddit
You choose your steak weight.
And like mine, they chose to make ten of my fourteen ounces fat, and the rest salt.
IndependentMacaroon@reddit
I'd devour that
Cel_Drow@reddit
I donāt think Iāve ever received such an embarrassment at Texas Roadhouse.
Insanely_Mclean@reddit
The last time I went to a Texas Roadhouse, we waited over an hour to be seated, and then they served me a raw steak. No, they didn't have me cut it in front of them.
TheBracketry@reddit
Say what you will about Texas, but no restaurant in Texas would dare serve that.
JizzMaxwell@reddit
Not even a sprig of parsley on the plate for presentation.
DroidLord@reddit
What is this? A meal for ants?
parrmorgan@reddit
I'd be stoked with it if it was an appetizer or something. If that's the entree, I'd be pissed.
gsfgf@reddit
Reminds me of when we did Man Brunch for a buddy's birthday. The main course was dry aged steak from a high end butcher. The appetizer was regular steak a buddy had on hand. (The sides were bacon, potatoes, and scotch)
The_real_bandito@reddit
Someone doesnāt know how to cook steak.
Fun_Western164@reddit
We went to TR a couple weeks ago for my kids birthday because he loves it and it wasn't much better, plus kid rock and maga music blasting.Ā š¤®
WiscoBrewDude@reddit
I used to work at a convenience store across the street from a TR, and they had a weekly standing order with us of 10 crates of milk. When the person would come pick the milk up, he would also bring us 2 boxes of fresh rolls and butter.
freakmeout123@reddit
whatās that
LatterParty182@reddit
I want that
Wild-End-3191@reddit
Fake. TR would never
Goatboy307@reddit
Yeah, I agree. Have gone to multiple Texas Roadhouses and they all have been pretty good and consistent with their food portions and quality
Huge-Description6899@reddit
TR is atleast very good every single time. I wouldnt be surprised if it is, but everyone fucks up sometimes so w.e.
TheIdeaArchitect@reddit
Is this the kids meal?
Loggersalienplants@reddit
Yet people will stand in line over 2 hours nightly for this. People are weirdly obsessed with TR. Support your local business, fuck TR and their management.
MayoBenz@reddit
This feels like outback propaganda. or just your roadhouse sucks lol. Every time i go with my girl they give us excessive amounts of food and they also ask you to cut the steak in front of them to make sure itās cooked how you like it
Complete_Try_3849@reddit
courtesy of means you got it for free btw
RuinOnStandby@reddit
Dude this looks like shit
PrizeTime2595@reddit
I wanna take this chance to say thank you to everyone who receives shitty orders. Because of you sucking up all the bad juju, I've never once had a complaint worthy problem with my food.
Sweaty_Marzipan4274@reddit
It's like places don't even want you to come back anymore. Thank gosh I started cooking with MSG at home, don't even miss this garbage.Ā
Fragrant_Ganache_108@reddit
Looks like a kids size
dreamibunni@reddit
:/ that's not an actual roadhouse meal.
Johnny_ac3s@reddit
Is this a steak for ants?!
pieman7414@reddit
When you get the smallest sirloin and aren't too careful about your sides, it always looks a little depressing. Usually tastes good though

Sortanotperfect@reddit
Is that an appetizer?
mearbearcate@reddit
Aw hell nah
dangerrnoodle@reddit
Post this in their social media. Thatās blast worthy.
Safe_Buy6637@reddit
this is the kids steak meal with fries instead of baked potato, costing $7.99 or $11.99 for the larger one. It's on the kids plate as well. Just farming up votes lol
SllepsCigam@reddit (OP)
Lmao that actually makes sense that's probably what they ended up giving me instead of what I ordered š
karlnarcs99@reddit
That's also probably why it was overcooked, kid's meals at Texas Roadhouse are required to be well done
Withabaseballbattt@reddit
My 9 year old kids the Andyās Steak medium rare every time so this is bullshit
FewReturn2sunlitLand@reddit
What did you order? How many ounces is that supposed to be?
GG_Midori_13@reddit
This. My family went to one a couple of weeks ago and my husband ordered something similar; his plate had way more than this. This is definitely the childās plate of steak and fries. At best, they made a mistake with OPs food. At worst, itās karma farming lol.
DatMiQQa@reddit
Looks like a meal for a kid at a wedding.
SuperSeyoe@reddit
Stop ordering from the kids menu
RobertSaccamano@reddit
Karma farming. Downvote.
DrDentonMask@reddit
I'll eat them fries. They don't need to be pretty. Just soft unlike In-n-Out.

Steak and Fries as an entree would be kinda cool honestly.

BuzzerWhirr@reddit
Your pic is missing the server rolling their eyes as they drop off the bill with the check and say they are closing soon (at 9:00pm on a Friday).

that plate looks sad. š
Hillbillygeek1981@reddit
That looks more like the shitty portions handed out when my company has Texas Roadhouse cater one of our rare employee appreciation days. I'd be pissed if I ordered and paid for that on my own dime.
