SoundFX struggled to find its voice/tone but they showed a lot of cool bands and videos. Early Orlando Jones was fun to see. My music taste was closer to Matt’s but was fun to see the variety of the era.

Oh do you mean their first performance of Name? They started in, like, bars in Buffalo a decade before that. They used to be very punk before they went mainstream.

Yep, you're right! This is just the first performance of the song "Name" (apparently). For those interested, here is a live video of them performing their first song (Livin' In A Hut) from their punk days: https://youtu.be/RzBUWmQ69i0?si=07xmKXNEf0o173tM

Yeah, uncharitably they sold out. But probably more accurately they changed with the times in the 90s. A boy named goo is by favorite album.

I don't know that they sold out. But maybe I also sold out as I've gotten older and can't recognize the difference.
That being said, my daughter has recently gotten into Weezer and likes the new stuff.

Awesome song for drop D tuning!
Thanks for sharing!

Survivor host jumpscare! I don't know why that was disorienting.

Just saw them live in London Ontario.
They had canceled the three previous stops and then after our show canceled the rest of the tour because John had pneumonia.
Still absolutely rocked it live.
'Name' always holds a special place for me because my mom died when I was 14 right around 1995 so this song was starting to pick up steam.
The closing lyrics 'if it's lonely where you are come back down' always reminded me at the time of my mom.
I'm not too manly to admit I teared up a bit when I heard it live.

This song aged me 20 years in 3 seconds. Glad I found a xennial community where that’s normal

I'm going through a Goo Goo Dolls phase right now. In the 90s I was hip-hop/rap head and never gave this type of music a chance. They're probably one of those "overplayed" bands but man I am really enjoying their stuff.

I didn’t get into them until very recently. My wife is from Buffalo so she’d mention them every now and then. So eventually I decided to go through all the YouTube live performances I can find. Wow. There’s one in Buffalo where it’s raining really hard yet everyone is really lost in the moment and doesn’t care. It’s phenomenal.

My dream concert in the 8th grade was Goo Goo Dolls, and Hootie and the BlowFish, and Deep Blue Something. Rock had softened from grunge to this laid back College rock.

I love this song. I've always loved this song.
