Checkride FAR/AIM Type

I have my PPL checkride coming up in a few weeks. A few question for you all: do you recommend I bring a physical FAR/AIM or electronic version? I know everyone says to tab out the FAR/AIM, but my CFI says electronic is best as I can “control f” things if needed, which honestly I like. However I can’t find a full PDF version and wanted to get opinions on apps/versions I can download to use on my Mac.
Or, if you’re super pro-physical copy, please tell me why. I understand this is probably a noob question, but to be fair - as to be expected from a student pilot. TIA

physical and pdf, just in case. have the physical tabbed out and ready to go. note, you probably won't need it much if you're really prepared

Check out this video series decoding the PPL ACS by DPE Seth Lake. It will answer the title question and more.
Additionally, purchasing the VSL.aero ACE Guide is with the money.
Seth hyperlinked the ACS’s to all of the appropriate FAA references and added more super good stuff.
It is totally allowed during checkrides.

If they are older than 55, tabbed physical. If you prefer electronic and they are under 55, just make sure you know your numbers and/or have bookmarks with titles saved. I've done each, there's definitely a slight preference towards using physical.

There’s only so much “control F” you can do before you look unprepared. I understand it’s an acceptable open resource but there’s a point where if you’re looking up things that you should definitely know you can expect the questions/scenario to get harder in prep for disapproval

I understand and agree. I never said that my intention was to “control F” my way through the entire oral. It is however a nice option to have if necessary

There is no "the" FAR/AIM.
There is the AIM, HTML version here (the search is pretty decent for a .gov website) or PDF version here.
And there is Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Chapter I, as published at eCFR.gov.

Thank you so much!

Accidentally copied the links to the AIP, not the AIM. The AIP is good stuff, organized (somewhat) in the correct ICAO format for an AIP, but it's mostly stuff that's already in the AIM. Fixed the links.

It doesn’t matter which format you bring the FARs, the AIM, or any other source you want, as long as you know how to use it (and CFRL+F isn’t it). Get familiar enough with your sources to understand how they’re organized and which information is presented where, and use the appropriate tool for the job (a table of contents or index) to find a reference.

Both?
Physical so when the DPE sees the tabbed out version, you’ve impressed in their mind that you’ve actually read it
Electronic so you can quickly search if need..
Virian@reddit
Bring both. Create a binder in ForeFlight with all the important documents. The FARs and AIM are already in FF, you just need to import them into the binder.
I like to have a hard copy of the FAR/AIM tabbed out for an oral exam. For things that I know right where they are (91.205 for example) it’s quicker for me to flip right to that page than trying to find it in a digital version.
