Tupperware, Mary Kay or Avon?

Did you or one of your parents ever sell any of these?
I didn't, but my Aunt sold Tupperware and I still have one of the containers that my mom bought.

Kirby vacuums, cutco knives, amway, Herbalife and melaleuca. All these were going to have us rolling in cash!
Outrageous_Drag6613@reddit
All MLM companies

Lol. I had a neighbor who sold Kirby vacuums.

My kiddo came home at 14, mom I got a job! Cool, doing what? Selling these really expensive kitchen knives, Cutco! Omg, that’s still around? Couple days later she doesn’t sell anything and quits.

My mom & stepmom both sold Avon. My stepmom was actually pretty successful.

My cousin sold Avon for years and did pretty well

No, but knew people that did

My mother was a real estate agent, so she was selling all the time. But my Aunt sold Tupperware. I loved those bowls with snap closed center things.

I just recall my mom making hide behind the sofa when the Avon lady came by. I still get jarred when someone knocks unexpectedly
Overall_Lobster823@reddit
No no. My mom made crocheted and knitted things and sold them. 😂

My dad's second wife sold. I remember going through the lipstick samples and trying all the colors.

My mom sold Tupperware, we found a ton of random little pieces after she died. All the hideous 70s orange, yellow and green. I had some of it but realized that its likely made with all the crap they stopped using a decade ago. I still have some of it but have been using newer, non-Tupperware, bowls that is hopefully made of safer materials.

I have to confess I love all of those harvest colors and I use mine all the time but never in the microwave.

Just no.

When I was in fifth grade in the late 70s my classmate’s mom talked my mom into selling Rubbermaid. It used to be available at parties just like Tupperware. She may have also sold Liquid Embroidery a few years before. I remember going to a lot of parties and we had a bunch of that stuff.
I sold Avon for about three months in the early 90s.

I tried selling Avon at a low point in my youth

One of my aunts sold Mary Kay … got the pink car and all

My Grandma sold Avon. Occasionally I would go with her on deliveries. All of her customers were “cheek pinchers”.

My mom sold Tupperware and Avon.

I was a Mary Kay rep for a few years just for myself so I could get the products for cheaper. I was into the skincare for a while and used a bit of the makeup too. Maybe around 20 years ago?

My friend's mom sold Jafra

My mon was an Avon Lady. I had the task of going out to hang Avon catalogs with her early in the morning and picking up orders from other Avon ladies to mail in bulk. We also got to try all the samples. I wish makeup companies made those little lipstick samples today. She did pretty well with it until the early 90s. My sister & I made a Barbie house out of the boxes her orders came. Got in trouble with our dad for painting it with his grey wrinkle spray paint.
LadyNorbert@reddit
Oh yes! The lipstick samples were so cute.

My mom sold Avon when I was a kid, back when it was less of an MLM and more of a legit business thing.
Lopsided_Antelope868@reddit
No one in my family sold any of it, but the Avon lady always came to my house and my mom would always order stuff. I remember she would always get me these cute little pins that I could wear and they had solid perfume inside. Also bubble bath and flavored lip balms. I loved when the Avon lady would visit!

My best friend's mom sold Tupperware and I got a lot of Tupperware toys--did you know they made toys?--for birthday presents.
My mom was super into Shaklee for awhile. I don't remember whether she sold it herself or just regularly bought out whoever she knew that did.
jillyjobby@reddit
I was a driver for the world’s oldest Avon lady as a teenager. She was on the Tonight Show a couple times. She had gotten so old she couldn’t drive anymore
HortenseDaigle@reddit
Mom had and attended Tupperware parties. i don't think ladies sold them outside of the parties. I was not allowed downstairs during these events or when they played Bunco.
bluecrab_7@reddit
My Dad worked at Avon and my was a part time Avon Lady.
Tampadarlyn@reddit
Yep. I was a MK consultant for almost 6 years, and one of only 3 that worked in my building of over 2000 people, mostly women in corporate attire every day. I never had a party and my customers were all word of mouth. The MLM stopped with me, no matter how much my director thought I could do 'more'. I just wanted to make extra money and have free makeup myself LOL

AmWay briefly

Tupperware!

Not my parents' generation, but my sister sold Mary Kay. It's entirely possible she is still an official seller, just so she can buy stuff for herself.

My mom was an Avon lady back when you had to walk a route. She did it for as long as it took her to get the entire porcelain nativity set. She turned out to be allergic to most of the makeup, so I was allowed to wear makeup way younger than she would have liked (I was 13). So I'd do my makeup and then go with her on her appointments.
My aunt used to sell Tupperware and when I got married she gave me tons of it. I still have/use some and my daughters have some (that I gave to them when they moved out).

Sell, no
