Audiophile population in UK?

Uk had many big brands in Audio equipment. But is having a set of audio systems ever a thing in the UK. Or it is just a small group of people who still enjoys it. There are still records fairs in major city in a monthly basis. But seems like I never come across someone that actually have a system at home for listening to music.

It’s a small percentage just as it is in the States
Those of us in professional audio like to repeat the saying:
Most people listen to music. Audiophiles listen to their stereo.

It's a small percentage of people who are passionate about sound quality, which enhances their enjoyment of the music.

I have always leant more towards movies than music on its own, so have invested in a Dolby Atmos Amp and 7.1 speaker set up - I love the sound of the floor standing Mission speakers I bought in the 90's so I've built every upgrade around them. Those speakers have seen a lot of screens - old CRT to currently a 4k UST laser projector.

Everything used to be about getting a hifi system and integrating everything in the house to use it. Smart speakers were supposed to be the new iPhone - everyone was going to use them constantly for messaging, grocery and takeaway orders - the one thing they did do is fill that spot in the living room where a separate system used to be - right with Spotify out of the box and enough bass to impress someone who has only ever listened to flat integrated speaker solutions...

I have a hifi.

Sure. What hifi magazine is a UK publication and still going in print and online, Richer sounds has loads of branches. Maybe it's not what it was in the 70s-90s but there are still people here who give a shit about it. Probably have to find people who live in detached houses and ask them :)
