R7 5700x to R7 9800X3d

I was offered to switch my AM4 parts for AM5. I will be switching my R7 5700X with 32GB 3200 MHz for DDR5 6000 MHz 32GB and R7 9800 X3D. I currently have a 5070, and I have a 1440p 180Hz OLED monitor. Will it be worth this change?

With 5070 you will gain like 1-10% fps in games at 1440p + DLSS Q, is this worth 650$ - up to you

I WILL PAY $650 MORE

If you live near a microcenter, you could get a 9800x3d bundle with mobo and 32gb ram for $680, or a 7800x3d bundle for 600.
No, I don't think this switch is worth 650. Dude is trying to rob you.

Tough pill to swallow, you can wait a few years and upgrade with a 5700x, you will feel it but for 650$ difference just for that it feels more like a ripoff.
Don't misunderstand, the 9800x3d is a amazing cpu, but at that cost you have to decide on the value proposition yourself.
I suggest watching the 1440p results in this video and seeing if you think this is worth 650$ more, ignore the 1080p results, those are far more cpu bound than 1440p would be.

What's the extra cash on top?

"Worth" depends on how much the cost difference is, the 9800x3d is a much faster cpu for gaming at 1080p, but in many games your gpu will be saturated well before the cpu will be hit, still it will definitely give you some performance boost.
the 9800x3d is essentially the best of the best cpu for gaming at the moment, only topped by the slightly faster 9850x3d, so if your going from a am4 5700x to a 9800x3d your essentially going from a piece of hardware from 2020 to one that came out last year.

You are trading your am4 platform for an am5 platform? Or are you buying an am5 platform?
