How to write a Game of the Year cheat code. Write a hacky story about having a child and being a reluctant father figure, something 95% of gamers will never experience. Especially not redditors.
He's a reluctant father figure for all of 30 minutes. This FUCKING game INSISTS on the love and chemistry between its characters. The writing is the worst thing about the game, enough that ive been tempted to skip cutscenes. Gameplay is great, loving it, but Jesus Christ I'm so irritated at how "adorable" Capcom thinks a child intrinsically is.
Shes not a child. Shes a robot pretending to be a child. Was it supposed to be adorable when she spewed an embarrassingly random string of ones and zeroes? She has done this twice so far, and it’s retarded both times.
That's a completely unrelated critique to your original statement. Did you even believe what you said with your first comment? This response makes me believe you are ragebaiting and are insincere with your opinions because you know they are retarded.
Im not saying I hate all emotionally charged stories, I love Death Stranding and it’s also a father learning to love a child that was dropped into his life.
My problem with Pragmata is that they have the guy huff and Puff for 10 lines, then he immediately starts talking about bringing her to his home and showing her the oceans and it’s so fucking forced. The writing is genuinely trash. Some of the worst ive ever seen.
I don't know about the worst, but the switch up from "I don't trust robots" "I don't like kids" to "I will protect and care for this robot kid as if she were mine" is pretty jarring. Definitely could've used some scenes of him straight up rejecting her or at least slowly warming up to her over time. But Diana is cute and endearing and the gameplay is dope so 🤷♂️
I once agreed with a person with the most obviously sarcastic comment ever just proving their point and they went on to write 6 or so paragraphs calling me stupid
I feel like a lot of people wishes to have had a surrogate father, so this narrative just hits with the daddy-issues crowd which, sadly, it's quite large.
Or maybe I'm just projecting like crazy right now, who knows anymore.
That's very possible, I think a lot of it is also related to the declining birth rates. A lot of people are stuck making that choice due to inability to afford an actual child or they can't find what they believe to be a suitable partner so they're filling the void with dopamine.
Under that light, it almost feels like mockery. "You want to afford a kid? Well too bad, here's a game that emphasizes every experience you're missing out tho, it'll be 70 bucks".
Nobodies hating the game, and it has outstanding reviews. What people are hating on is the insane flood of pedophilic comments regarding the little girl.
I just beat it. It is short. The combat is great, the story is mid the graphics are amazing and Diana draws you pictures :3 It also unlocks the New Game + and has another story after wards that I have not played yet. Total time for completion first play through on standard difficulty was 15 hours.
I don’t understand why people are getting attached to this romba, in universe and out it’s already creepy to make human robots (Bladerunner, alien, fallout, etc) so making one a kid is double creepy. Especially since I saw another one doesn’t do the kid shtick and is just a regular robot.
Diana or whatever is a Hal 9000 walking, and it looking like a little girl is disarming which makes it more dangerous

Children are intrinsically adorable, it is entrenched in our DNA to think this way. Are you even a human??

How cheap are your emotions? Capcom says "The child is saying child things. Love her" and you just.... Do?
Sorry, but I don’t get emotionally invested in characters with absolutely zero character arc.

That smell is strangely comforting on a baby. Like something smelling like exactly what it's supposed to, like your own ballsack or Dijon mustard

It’s the lack of a gut biome in a baby’s stomach that hasn’t developed yet. Some adults can get that smell by taking antibiotics.
