Specifically for OTR drivers, how much time do you get to spend at home?

Monday Tuesday off on Wednesday back on Thursday Friday. Start about 4am home by 3 or 4. Love working 2 days then a day off then work 2 more then 2 days off.
Been at same job 22 years now. Soon it will be all days off as I retire.

I work for a small Midwest company with 28 trucks. We specialize in forestry products, mulch, wood chips, sawdust. Year round work.

Can you say more about the job so others can try to find a job like it? Example, industry, sector, type of trailer, endorsements, etc. thanks.

That’s a union line haul LTL schedule if I’ve ever seen one.

I went home on February 12th. For a day. Does that count?

Regional, TMC, leave home on Sunday between 4:30-5:30pm(when wife gets home). Typically run my clock from 06:00-20:00 each day. Home Friday usually around 15:00-18:00. Gross $1500/wk+

Wait... you guys have a schedule?
saywhat181@reddit
Mon-Fri. 8-5. Sometimes I'll have a Saturday delivery, or an emergency late night delivery, but that rarely happens.
JerryBob_Jr@reddit
Depends on freight my company wants me to deliver. Im out and back OTR. Its pretty much run my 70 out and try to get back without a reset. If I cant get back, I reset again at home usually. Basically throw a dart at a calendar in a dark room and thats when im home.
Jazzlike-Economy-287@reddit
I can go home every week 3 days .. however i choose to to go back home every 8 weeks or so for a week
Brave-Violinist@reddit
Sunday Monday Tuesday off Wednesday 400-1500 Thursday 2:30-1700 Friday 300-12 Saturday 200-1300
Dezzolve@reddit
I work hard for 2-3 months and then take a month off. Technically ~27 days because if I’m gone longer than that I’d get seated in a different truck.
OTR schedules are all over the place, it all depends on when your pickup appts and delivery are. Thankfully I do dry van now and we deliver to a lot of construction sites at my company. So typically ~7am-6pm is my schedule during the week, with a long run over the weekend for Monday delivery.
theboywthagreenscarf@reddit
I was getting 3-5 days every 3-4 months.
skeletons_asshole@reddit
Get home late Friday, leave early Monday. Problem is, I work like 300 hours during the week, or that's what it feels like anyway.
Jimlee1471@reddit
5 days out, 2 days hometime.
unftp-0@reddit
Work 4 weeks then home for 9 days. Used to be in a dedicated account with a different company home 2-3 times Monday-Friday and then home every weekend. Miss it
aTerryBear@reddit
Night shift local. Mon-Fri, the shift is technically 11p-11a but once I finish my two runs I can dip, so I’m usually home by 7-830a. All drop and hook, loads under 20k so the pull is beyond cake and to be honest they pay us way too much that I genuinely feel somewhat guilty sometimes that other homies are out there in hell making slave wages.
Longway23544@reddit
I’m home everyday local
AsphaltPirate74@reddit
Work 4 weeks straight, home for 6 days.
barney1013@reddit
5/2 5/3
work 5 days off 2
next week work 5 days off 3
15 paid vacation days per year
MissYouDesertRat@reddit
I was doing 32 days out 4 days home. Id get 2 34 hour resets on that 32 if i drove right. Sometimes id have a drop off at 2 am with a 12pm pick up the next day in there periodically.
Weightlifter96@reddit
We get one day off per 30 days so if I’m out for 3 months I can come home for 3 days. 12 days off max in a year but you can get up to 15 with good safety score. I wanna take a week vacation next year so I’m gonna be out for 7 months so that I can get it probably save those days off. We don’t get holidays or vacation time. It is what it is ig
